I voted this morning around 7. H went in a little late so I could go kid free. The school where we vote is 5 minutes from my house, I got a parking spot because someone was leaving as I pulled in, and there was literally no one in line for my portion of the alphabet. Couldn't have gone any better, save for a better choice of presidential candidates.

Definitely sick of it, ha ha! My mom thinks Donald Trump is hilarious so she's been following closely since the beginning and I've had to hear about it.
I'm nervous about this election because what happens in the US affects us. I'm avoiding coverage today (easy since all we watch around here is Paw Patrol!).
Going to the park and raking leaves is on the agenda today!

I haven't gone yet the parking lot was full at 6:35 this morning which i figured would mean some waiting to vote. I will got after work right before I pick the kids up from daycare.
I am ready for the commercials to end. My DD kept saying donald trumps name randomly last night. Pretty sure she's picked that up from the commercials on tv the last 7 months
I voted absentee a couple weeks ago. I have so many conflicting feelings today: excitement, dread, anxiety, fear. I think even after this election ends, the drama is far from over.

My 4 yo asked me who I voted for. We haven't talked to her about the election at all, and we live in a non-swing state so there have been zero Clinton/Trump commercials. I just blurted out 'the good one". She then asked me why Donald Trump was bad. I didn't know she even knew his name and had no idea what to say. Mom fail.
I voted right after I dropped the kids off at daycare a little before 7am because no line. DNW to go after dinner. Now, we wait.
I work very close to Susan B Anthony's grave and was thinking about walking over on my lunch to put my sticker on her grave, but hundreds of others already have that idea. They have live webcams of it and there is a line at least a half a mile long. So I guess I won't be doing that.
Oregon is a mail in state, so I voted last week! I'm so ready for tonight to be over though. I'm over all the political commercials and flyers in my mailbox.
In unrelated, happier news, Sam just rolled from back to belly for the first time! 😭
We will go once DH gets home. Last year it wasn't a long wait. Every early voting place we saw had a huge line. So glad all the harassment will end after today and then a month of people bitching.
We had our Remembrance Day ceremony today at school. Always a hard day for me and Y new school goes all out because its on base. A little girl I don't know noticed me crying and got up gave me a big hug and whispered "my mom says it's ok to miss them"
Luckily two staff covered me and another teachers classes do we could pull ourselves together a bit. The other teachers brother was part of DHs group and was KIA on his last tour
katelou there are even political commercials on hulu here...its insane. They start in March and dont end until today.
We just got Hulu a month ago and I can't believe they're running political commercials on there too! So annoying. The worst is when they play commercials back to back of "vote yes on 97" and then "vote no on 97". Just one more day! 👍
Just came across on FB a new mom I'm friends with that was talking about her 6 week old baby. Another mom commented saying her baby wakes up every hour to eat at night and eats every 2-3 hours during the day. The woman I know said her doctor told her to not feed her baby earlier than 2.5 hours, and someone else commented saying to stretch out feedings to at least 3 hours apart and let the baby cry...WTF. Is it just me or is that super shitty/awful advice?! Yikes.

This seems to be a general practice by me as well. My pediatrician never gave me this advice, but nearly all of my friends with LO do NOT feed their babies unless it's been a certain amount of time.
It seems backwards to me, but I've always nursed on demand.

So... you just let them scream at you until it's time for the next scheduled feeding? I don't get it.

Yes. We went ToTing with a friend who had a six week old. Baby was screaming, dad said maybe she's hungry. The mom said it's not time for her next bottle. She still has an hour. Then the mom looked at me and said "she can scream all she wants, doesn't bother me! She's not getting another bottle until it's time."

I just saw a post on FB with a picture of it! It was seriously covered! And the person who shared it lives on the opposite end of the country so apparently it's all over the internet.

Seriously, especially that early on when milk supply is still being established, baby's cluster feeding, their stomachs are still tiny...Sam can't go longer than 1.5 hours when he's awake, and as soon as we get close to that time he starts melting down. He would be an inconsolable mess if I forced him to wait another hour on top of that.

H said my face was priceless.
I have no words for this.
I would do basically anything to avoid prolonged baby screaming.
Went during preschool with the baby. Waited about an hour so I had to nurse E and then he spat up all over me. Grr. Will be watching coverage tonight - I'm excited! Happy to be on the west coast for this election so I'm assuming they'll call it when it's still fairly early here.

Wtf? This is awful. I can see having this attitude towards a toddler like no snacks before dinner but a baby. Just no.

Vote by mail here in WA. Mailed them over the weekend. Def going to be watching tonight, but glad we're at the end. Election cycles seriously need to be shortened. A lot.

We did early voting and were in and out.
I picked up S from daycare one day and there was a baby not much older than him inconsolably crying, turning purple from crying so hard while the caregiver was patting him. I was giving the caregivers the side eye and glaring at her when she said that she loves that I specifically state to feed S when he is hungry. This baby boy was crying like that because him mom didn't want him to eat for another 30 minutes. The girl said that they have several babies whose parents are so strict with their schedules that they are basically starving by the time they get a bottle.
Cue me crying all the way home in my car because I can't believe anyone would want their baby to go hungry. To me that is just a cruel thing to do. I eat when I am hungry why shouldn't my baby.

It is! I was watching a live feed of the gravesite earlier today. So many moms with their daughters coming to place their stickers. It was so incredibly moving to watch.

Yikes to not feeding babies when they're hungry! Seriously! How can you just let them scream? Someone I know said her babies ate "every three hours on the dot" and I always wondered.
