AW: she went from not even on the charts to 63%!!! Girlfriend loves to eat. She is a champ at fine motor skills and smiles all the time. Also, we have 5 teeth!
Concerns : she is behind a little in certain sounds, and is not crawling pulling up a lot, but she gets 5 weeks leeway because she was early. So we'll see what happens in the next month.
Doing her monthly photo today, but here is the adorable one.

our appointment is tomorrow. She's supposed to get a flu shot but I think it's a no go because of the ear infection she got on Thanksgiving.
Also, she's been dragging her left foot when she walks with her walker toy. At first, I thought it was for stability, but now it definitely looks like a gait issue, so I'm going to bring it up to the pedi. Most likely they'll have us do exercises at home and possibly PT if that doesn't help.
As always, I'm keeping my fx for a good weight, but not really hopeful seeing that she was only 15lbs 6oz at the ER a few days ago.

oh no sorry she was at the ER. I didn't see that. Let us know what pedi says about the possible gait issue. My LO drags one leg crawling, did your little do that too or just walking?

It's just walking. I took a video to show the pedi. I'll try and post it tomorrow.

Sorry to creep your old stats but that is almost 2.5 lbs weight gain in 3 months, that is AMAZING compared to the 0.5 lbs a month she was averaging before! That is progress, you are doing a great job and it sounds like she is coming up on her curve. I hope your visit is reassuring.
LO will be 9 months on Saturday, her appt is on the 12th but she has had some super adorable milestones lately and wanna post before I forget!
She is a super skilled cruiser, can walk slowly pushing a walker, beginning to stand independently her record is like 15 seconds, and she has stood straight up from lifting her arms off something low rather than letting go a few times (if that makes sense). Her pincer grasp is great!
She makes all kinds of noises and including some really funny ones. I have to get a video!
She knows some basic actions, like if she is holding something and you tell her to shake it or bang it or pull she does it.
If you open your mouth and say ahhh she will put what she is holding in your mouth. She fed me a pea the other day. Lol

We had our 9mo appt yesterday... appropriately on the day they turned 9 months old!
Aiden is 17lbs4oz and 27 3/4in. Riley is 16lbs12oz and 27in. Both are doing well developmentally. Aiden is a tad behind as he hasn't started crawling yet. Pedi told us that we can stop buying purees and start giving them solids, so that is fun (and cheaper!). They both say things like mamamama and dadadada, although I don't think they associate the words with the people yet. Although... I did say "Look at Oscar" (our dog) last night and Riley looked down at him... so who knows.
ok... I have deadlines... I totally need to get to work. LOL
So sorry for going MIA. It's been a crazy weird couple of days.
K is 15lbs 13oz and 27.5 inches long. She grew over 2 inches since her 6 month appointment. She is still trending at 10th percentile but since she hasn't gone down in any of the last 3 weight checks the pedi is fine. She's a tall and skinny girl.
peachesncream, you are right, she has made amazing progress. I have had my "worried mother" glasses on and all I see is a small child compared to others her age. She's doing amazing developmentally and can pull to stand, walk with a walking toy, unscrew the damn jet dry compartment from the dishwasher (wee!) and talks incessantly.
awkwardturtle, The pedi took a look at the video I took and says that she's not concerned. She had K walk assisted in her office a few times and she didn't do the foot drag. That night MH and I tried a couple more scenarios and saw that she only does it while using the walker train toy she has. I realized that dragging her foot is her way of "braking". When she first tried using the toy as a walker she would face plant a lot because she had little control. She figured out a way to control it by dragging her foot. She constantly amazes me with how intelligent she is for such a tiny person. lol
This is my first time posting his stats. I always forget. But, today was his appt and the info is fresh in my mind. Max is 23lbs 1oz. He is 29 and 3/4inch long. His birth weight was 5lbs 10oz so he has grown significantly. He is hitting on his milestones. He's not crawling yet but he scoots and finds his way around. Still can't believe the babies are almost in double digit months!
26 1/2 inches (15th percentile) and 13 lbs 7oz (1st percentile). Doc thought she should have gained more weight but she's eating 2 purées a day and close to 40 ozs of formula. Once we figure out if she's allergic/sensitive to anything I'm going for the high calorie stuff. I think she's just going to be petite.
She also has been crawling, pulling up, and climbing stairs.
W had his 9 month appointment today. He is 29.5 inches long (88th percentile) and only 18lbs10oz (30th percentile). He is going to be long and skinny. He can pull up on anything, it's his new favorite thing. He may have an allergy or something to oats, we have to test that out, which I'm not looking forward to. He is cutting his top teeth, which makes my nipples cringe. His personality is as wild and colorful as his ever reddening hair.
J doesn't go in until the 30th but we got an impromptu weight check when I was worried about an ear infection Monday. 15lbs 9oz and bumped up to 15th percentile!

40oz of formula!!! Jaysus! K eats a little more than half that. Is she really active? K is always, always moving and even DC has said that she is one of their most active kids. I think that comes into play with how small they are on top of genetic factors. If they are just burning through calories then of course they aren't going to gain much.

I know. My first never ate this much.
Doc suggested table food, but it will take calories to digest and I'm not sure she has any to spare. No sticks of butter since we're avoiding dairy until we try whole milk in super small quantities closer to 1.
She is really active and I think she's going to start walking soon. At dc, they said she doesn't stay in one place.

What about coconut milk? It's high in fat but contains no dairy. I know they also make yogurt with it. Can she have peanut butter? It's packed with protein and fat. Any nut butter would be good.
LO is near the 50 percentile for weight now! I can't believe it, she has steadily climbed up percentiles little by little at each appt. I still think of her as a tiny girl but I guess that's not really true any more! She is doing great! All the milestones look good, etc. She even showed off her tricks for the doc by shaking a toy on command and standing unassisted.
They asked a little about food and not at all about sleep, but aren't pushy. The doc said her growth is great so whatever you are doing is working (nice to get a pat on the back!). She asked how many oz of milk and I said we are still just nursing and she seemed surprised but said "way to go mama" which is pretty much the reaction she had at 6 months. I know statistically most babies this age aren't still BF, but a lot of the babies I know IRL are so it sometimes doesn't seem that way. I like that the doc is really liberal with her praise of my parenting skills. Lol. It's very reassuring.

We had our checkup this morning. A is 17 lbs (27%) and 26 inches (15%). She has gone up about 10 percentage points in weight and the doctor seemed happy with her growth. I asked about her not crawling yet and not pulling up to stuff and she said she's not concerned but to let her know if she hasn't made any progress in a month or so. Then we would re-evaluate and see if we need to do anything. But her muscle tone seems fine and she's probably just lazy and content. I love our pediatrician. She asked me how nights are and I said we are up 2-3 times. She asked how I was with that and I told her I'm fine with it for now and she just said ok, that's fine then. She loves that we use cloth diapers and how we feed her and that she's still ebf. I hear all these horror stories about doctors giving parents grief over parenting decisions and I'm so glad we don't have to deal with that!
V can stand independently, squat to pick up something and return to standing, walks while using one hand to hold on to something, dances, says "Mama", "Dada", and "Hi"; and loves eating food. Loves the dog and playing with her brother
The visit with the Pedi was short because V was puking while we were waiting. We have to go see a urologist because she has had persistent partial labial adhesion, and they want to make sure nothing is going to close up. We will have to get a referral for her clogged tear duct if it doesn't clear by her next appt (12m).

Also, MH has concluded that the weight/height percentages for girls are BS because all of the baby girls on here and those we know IRL are 25th% or less. He thinks an adjustment is needed. Have you guys noticed a similar trend in those around you?
