Hi ya ladies!!
We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between.
We check in on Sundays/Mondays. Feel free to use this ckin throughout the week if you are struggling or have an awesome achievement to share!
The good: I don't know, I can't pinpoint anything really good that I managed
The bad: out of town visitors and going out to eat=no whole 30 for me during that time. Just realized that Thanksgiving is next week, wondering if I should push back my start day.
The proud: I have zero desire to eat junk food
The plan: try to get to the gym at least to swim. But I have this really horrible cough going on. Had to go to the Dr's again last week and got a rescue inhaler because it's been so bad. So exercising hadn't been on my radar so much. I need to do something though. I am not happy about the state of my health at all.
QOTW: for a no brainer easy recipe, salsa shredded chicken. Chicken, jar of salsa, cook! Shred after 4-6 hours, boom done!
The Good: Because it is still surprisingly warm here I have been getting in some evening walks with the pups.
The Bad: All I want to eat are french fries. I have not been caving to this want, instead I have been eating oranges, but it's still a real struggle.
The Proud: I have lost 15 lbs so far this year. It's not great, but given how much I have bounced around with it that's actually a pretty good start.
The Plan: Try to get in some steps this week and eat much much healthier meals. H is pushing for heart healthy meals so that means I can actually serve more veggies! YAY!
QOTD: I make Chinese pot roast in the crock pot. Put the roast meat in whole, surround it with carrot sticks and quartered potatoes. Make a sauce out of 1/2 cup soy sauce and 1/4 cup brown sugar stirred together. Fill the measuring cup to 2 cups (or more if it seems too salty to you). Mince about 1/4 inch of ginger. Add to sauce and pour into crock pot. Cook on High 4 hours or low 6-8 hours. We then normally pour out the sauce and thicken with cornstarch or flour. Garnish with green onions if you wish.

menrandes I'd push it back. Turkey day would be hard to just start something like that I'd think. That's great your staying away from junk food though!!!
Nom on the chicken dish!
@elliecat yay pupper walks!! Good luck with the healthy dinners!!! I've been looking on SkinnyTaste for some.
I've not really been paying attention to what I eat lately.. but somehow still managed to loose a couple of pounds. I've rediscovered chocolate though *gimmeallthechocolate* so who knows what the scales will say next week I find I do want to pay attention to healthy eating and what not but also feel the need to cut me some slack while cycling. So far I'm balancing out alright I guess.
menrandes I'm with Furry, pushing back starting the whole30 till after T-day sounds like a good idea. *hugs* Sorry to read you're not feeling great - hopefully the puffer will help! Feel btter soon!
elliecat17 nom french fries! I need to clean my deepfryer before I can use it again which has been a good thing cause I've been craving fries as well lately heh. That potroast sounds good.. shame I don't have a crock pot

The good: nothing
The bad: too much inactivity. And lots of unhealthy foods
The proud: nothing to report
The plan: kick my butt into action! I need to get it together! I've eaten healthy so far this week though so that's a small win.
QOTW: I use my crock pot all the time! I do the salsa chicken mentioned above. I also do pulled pork (season pork with salt/pepper/garlic powder and cook on low all day with a cup of apple cider. Add your favorite BBQ sauce at the end). Lots of soups and other good stuff too. I should post some links for you later.
