I am still nursing my 3 year old and plan on weaning him in about 3 weeks when the semester ends because there will no doubt be some sleepless nights over that one. He is autistic and I worry it will be a difficult adjustment for him but at the same time I will be happy to have my boobs free for a few months. Right now nursing is no fun!

I'm still nursing my 2.5 year old. We are taking it day by day at this point. I'm doing don't offer, don't refuse. He has only nursed once a day for almost a year and now he goes days without asking. I'm hoping when/if my supply drops even lower he will self wean. If not, we will explore the possibility of tandem nursing.
My 2.5 year old son is almost completely weaned. He still nurses if he wakes up in the middle of the night. It's happened a handful of times. He woke up last night, and OUCH, that hurt. So I'm getting to the fun stage of pregnancy where nursing feels like needles are being jabbed in your nips.
Ds2 is 19 months and he is nursing 2-3 times a day. The past 2 nights he didn't wake to nurse. I really hope he is done with that! I don't know how long we will go. He is allergic to milk protein. In the past 3.5 years I have had 6 months where I could eat dairy. I will probably wean him just so I can eat all the cheese and drink milk!
Yup I have a 9 month old. He nurses every 3-6 hours. I'm definitely continuing until he's a year and then we'll see. I also go back to work when he's 13 months so that will impact how often I can nurse him. I may end up tandem nursing, depending on how I feel and how interested DS is.

babywisher - I had to go dairy free for my son too. He eventually outgrew the dairy allergy at about 2 years. Are you planning on going dairy free again close to your due date for this new baby? My DD (4.5) is lactose intolerant and my DS (2.5) was allergic (now he's considered lactose intolerant). I figure the odds aren't in my favor for baby 3. In the meantime, I'm enjoying all the dairy while I can.

nola1017 I'm not going to go dairy free before. Dd who is a little over 3.5 is still dairy free too. Chances don't look good for me either. It took about 4 months to figure out what was up with dd. Then I was watching ds2 like a hawk and it took a week when we started seeing the symptoms with him. Also, I live on the Northshore. So we are fairly close!
I'm still nursing my 15 month old, but I feel like it should only be a few times a day rather than several times.. I'm worried my supply is going to bottom out, and we are almost out of freezer stash.

Still nursing my 10m old DS. Will most likely go until a year or a little after (January) and then call it quits. Now he nurses in the morning at like 5, I pump at 9, then come home from work to nurse him at 12:45, then again at 4 and lastly before bed.
Still nursing my 19 month old. Thankfully we might weaned a couple months ago, and he only nurses 2 or three times a day now. It helps him fall asleep. I'm hoping, without much reason to, that he decides he doesn't want to pretty soon... I'll definitely wean him completely by 2 I think.

So, ds has only nursed once a day for the past 3 days and that was to go to sleep. I didn't expect him to drop feedings this quickly. It makes me so sad and excited all at the same time.

I'm hoping this happens and dreading it at the same time. Congrats on almost being done nursing for now, but I feel your pain. I'll miss the connection when it's gone!

I wish we could night wean! And he still wants to nurse several times a day. The last few nights he won't even come off the boob.

notelsie ds night weaned at 18 months. Where he now has to sleep in the bed with us. I was so happy to have him not needing to nurse, but now I just want him out of our bed! ldubhawksfan oh no! Blocked ducts can be so painful. Good thing you cleared it up quickly.

That is our goal! We've been cosleeping for most of his life, and we have now transferred him back to his pnp in the room. He still ends up in our bed so once he gets adjusted we will start with his crib. I really need him to sleep in his own room before this baby gets here.

Thanks. I know! I had cronic ones after returning to work and was thisclose to quitting BFing until another LC recommended lecithin. I've gotten lax with it though.
Anyone else starved again?! I woke at 1:30 and had to go eat some chips in the pantry because I couldn't fall back asleep! I haven't needed midnight snacks since she was still night feeding and I had major oversupply!

Exact same boat. Although currently going through some crazed all-night sleep regression nursing constantly ahhhhhhhhhh

I'm in exactly the same boat. Ds is sleeping really well, but in bed with me. I've got to find a way to boot him back to his crib all night before baby gets here and no idea how to do that!!!

I am two days into weaning and it's rough. Last night he fell asleep in my arms screaming and crying for milk. The only thing getting me through is that no matter how rough the night is both mornings he has woken up happy. I still feel a little bit like a monster though.
