I forget who has what here- anyone currently pregnant with mo/di babes or remember the ultrasound schedule if you previously were? I just had an ultrasound at the perinatologist and found out they plan to scan me every 2 weeks until 34 weeks and then weekly! I'm like damn. Ain't nobody got time for that!
Mono/di here, I had scans every 2 weeks til 32 and then weekly. They alternated, the big long growth/anatomy scans were every 4 weeks and those alternated with shorter TTTS checks. Towards the end I also had BPP/NSTs scheduled weekly but wound up needing them more often. I transferred my care to the university where I was working so it was relatively convenient. Honestly, I lived for those scans and the peace of mind they gave me with all the risks.

I'm di/di. I go for growth scans every 4 weeks for now. And also belly checks/dopplers every 4 weeks. They end up falling on an every 2 weeks schedule I'm either at the MFM or OB. They will decide at 30 weeks if they want to go to every 2 week scans or not. But I too live for the scans and dopplers. Both are very reassuring.
I guess I also cheat- if I have a day where I can't feel them or I feel worried, I can easily throw a probe on myself or a Doppler and check them.
I always envisioned a midwife birth in a hospital birthing center with a doula and tub....
....and I got years of fertility treatments and meds, a high risk pregnancy, and more ultrasounds and monitoring than you can imagine, complete with daily prednisone, lovenox and IVIG infusions every two weeks. :-)
At the end of the day, I just remind myself that healthy babies are the goal.
THIS! They took me away from my midwife last week. I always wanted to have a midwife and I was allowed to stay with mine at first. But I guess hospital management decided to crack down on high risk cases so I'm no longer allowed to be with the midwife. I was upset for like 5 minutes but at the end of the day if my girls are born healthy I don't care how they get here...OB/midwife, natural/c-section...the goal is healthy babies and healthy mom. However my midwife did say that she will follow my case and do everything she can to be at the birth. That meant A LOT to me.

Yup yup. I totally agree. I laugh at women who have like 2-3 u/s a pregnancy. I'm over here like, I'm on #16!
H actually stopped going to my appointments because the ultrasounds weren't a big deal anymore.

That's where my mind set comes from! I had one 20 week scan with DD1. She was a dream pregnancy and a dream labor. Totally ruined my outlook on future pregnancies. If I'd stuck with that Ob and didn't scan myself, I still wouldn't even know I had two in there!

That's exactly how we are. DH went to every one in first tri because I was so scared, the a/s and the first fetal echo and that was it. Now I just call him after and give him an update.
Yes. H was kicking himself that he didn't go to the appointment my OB put me on bed rest and my last appointment since it turned into delivery.

For now H goes to the ultrasounds but not the OB checkups. He just works from home those days and the hospital is 10 minutes from our house so it's no big deal.
mustloveerica sorry they took you away from your midwife!! Bummer! That's awesome she'll stick with you as best she can though!
Thanks everyone- I moved the ultrasounds to the local clinic (which I didn't even know existed) so I am much less bothered by this frequency. The first one I went to was about a half hour drive (more during rush hour) and I had to pay for the parking ramp and blah blah blah. Very inconvenient- especially for DH during the work days.

I'm di/di and have a growth scan every two weeks with cervical length monitoring. I believe at 30/32 weeks I'll go in twice a week for BPP and NST and growth.

I had the same experience. 1 ultrasounds with DD1...and then at our expected 1 ultrasound at 20 weeks this last time, that's when we found out it was twins! Lol
My girls were mo/di and as I said, found out at 20 weeks it was twins so then I had a growth scan every 4 weeks, a biophysical profile ultrasound every 2 weeks until 34 weeks then they were every week until I delivered at 37 weeks and then regular OB appts at their normal intervals on top of the ultrasounds at the MFM.
I had an ultrasound every 2 weeks until 30 weeks when it switched to every week. I drove over an hour to my OB's office. The drive got really uncomfortable towards the end, but the ultrasounds gave me peace of mind and I enjoyed watching my girls grow.

It got to the point where is would doze off and the nurse would be like "aww look how cute they are!" and I'd just be like "yup the aliens are adorable, same as last week"

Same here, except I referred to them as the demons! BUT I got to earn major points because I invited MIL to a few of them.

I definitely fell asleep once! There for a while, W wouldn't do everything for the BPPs, so they took a while.

Yes! Some angles are super creepy. Demons is accurate. H one time said they looked like Aliens vs. Predator. He was not wrong...
