Yay it's the weekend (almost) anyone have any good plans? We have swimming tomorrow and Santa on Sunday!!
So I'm a wee bit annoyed with something. I know people are super busy this time of year, I get that. Last week I contacted my photographer to ask something and then asked when we would get our photos so that I could plant Christmas cards. He said give me a week and they'll be done. That was last Wednesday and still nothing. He's a friend and I've dropped hints since and he keeps saying he's editing (not my stuff, just editing) he's super busy all summer and fall with weddings and family shoots so this time of year all he does is edit. We see him Sunday for Santa (it's a charity one at his studio) do I bring it up again?? I mean I'm running low on time for good cards. I wanted to use vistaprint but it's like 7-10 day delivery. That's pushing mid December.
Now we went to get Christmas pics of the kids two weeks ago. It was a Sunday. She told us the gallery for choosing our photos would be available Sunday. Sunday came around and nothing. I told my sister I'd give it a few days. Tuesday I messaged her and she said theyd be sent Thursday. It's Friday and still nothing....
Married 10/10/10! TTC Baby #1 since April 2014 BFP Oct 16 - EP terminated Nov 6 2014 Off the Bench January 2015! BFP #2 June 1 2015 - EDD Feb 12 2016! Baby Boy born 15th February 2016!
We have our Christmas photos in a little bit. So I'm pretty excited for that. We don't really have many photos of the 4 of us together other than a few selfies. So it'll be nice to have a non-selfie family photo. I just got DS dressed, and he's looking mighty dapper.
I'm also looking forward to supper tonight. I'm going to track down the Thai food truck that services our area. Apparently this is the last few days of their season. So I want some garlic pork.

kellybenelly83, it gets so hard when they are friends! Could you say something like "Hey! I know you're super busy, would mind just sending a small set of what you think are the best so I can get my holiday cards?" Hopefully from that set, you'll find something you like enough for the cards?
Blame it on "a great sale that is expiring!" that you *just have* to take advantage of.
She did rivers and roads, thanks for asking. We didn't get everything done I wanted to so we are going to get her cupcake and to toys r us today. Which leads me to the bullshit I woke up to this morning. Damn snow. It rained last night before the snow started so I'm sure it's nice and slick out. I won't be venturing out until the afternoon though so hopefully it warms up enough to melt that part. I need to run a bunch of errands this evening and in the morning for H's party tomorrow.
kellybenelly83 I'd be frustrated too. I am still waiting on pics also. I'm hoping I get the email today or Monday at the latest. We did our pics on 10/9.

I AW'd SS yesterday, so I'm going to complain about him today, haha. Little stinker woke up MOTN and decided he was hungry. Ate half of three different slices of leftover pizza and left the refrigerator door ajar until morning. I guess he decided he'd earned enough brownie points making DH breakfast this week.
I'm so glad it's Friday. After doing nothing but being sick last weekend, my whole family needs to be super productive this weekend.
Oh and I have a not so good baby O update. Yesterday he was having some issues and they ended up reintubating him in the middle of the night last night

Oh no. I hope this is just a minor setback. How frustrating for your family.

The halves of slices?! That's so annoying, piperhalliwell.
Today looks like it will be the last day of decent weather, probably for a few months . I'm trying to plan our day around the fact that I want to go to this new coffee shop that just opened a few blocks away. I'm not a latte girl, but they have a lavender latte and I'm obsessed with it. So, basically, I'll do anything that gives me a reason to walk by the shop.
ALSO: HOLY CRAP. My child just fell asleep ON HIS OWN. He was nursing down to a nap but UPS was at the door, so I had to put him in the crib to answer it. He was up there making noises, but not really crying, so I left him for a few minutes. He's asleep!!! This has maybe happened three times ever.

Yay to independently falling asleep rivers and roads! L used to never do it either, but recently she decided to stop falling asleep while eating and has been doing okay with going down awake. Sending you wishes that this is the start of something good for you, too.

Guys, my almost 5yo is pretty adamant that he wants a hamster for his birthday. I don't know how I feel about this. We had one when we were kids but obviously it was ok because mom cleaned the cage but now I'm the mom and DNW to do that.

SS has been talking about wanting a pet recently, too. DH and I are giving it a big "no way in hell" right now, but I'm sure we'll come around eventually. We just explained that it's a lot of work that he will have to do and we're not sure he's ready for that yet.

rivers and roads that is how we figured out g will go to sleep on her own. One time I really had to pee so I set her in her crib. When I came back a few minutes later she was asleep. Now we always set her down awake and she will be asleep often before we reach the door. FX this is what will happen for you!!

Better than a puppy? :-P
I'll put my terrible hamster experience in a spoiler. If you're sensitive to pets, maybe skip this one.
My sister had a hamster for years, but then no longer wanted to care for it, so she gave it to me. I renamed him Teddy. Teddy had a rough life after this point.
1)I was not very good about cleaning its cage (read: never), so my mom ended up doing it. One day, it was a nice day out, so my mom thought it'd be nice for Teddy to get some fresh air while I was at school. She put him and his cage outside in the sun for a few hours. A glass cage with a lid. In the sun for a few hours. I came home to my mom freaking out and trying to put Teddy in a bowl in the fridge because she basically baked my hamster. He survived somehow.
2) Fast forward another few years (Teddy is now OLD). I came home from school one day and Teddy was on his little hamster wheel, but his eye was really goopy and he was kind of just walking into the walls and things. We figured Teddy would pass that night. He didn't. The next day, he didn't. My dad, feeling bad for the little guy, tried to put him out of his misery. He put him in a ziplock bag and sealed it, then took him to work to dispose of him in the dumpster at work. Come lunch time, one of my dad's coworkers comes running into my dad's shop yelling "THAT DAMN HAMSTER IS STILL ALIVE!"
Teddy had a will to live.
He never made it home that day, though. I don't know what finally happened. I can imagine, but I probably don't want confirmation.
We also had a goat that drowned in our pond and was so bloated he floated in our pond until my dad found him.
These are the reasons I'm not sure my child will ever have a pet. I can't be the parent of a child with a pet. (Or maybe I just need to be a more informed pet parent than my well-meaning, but WTF parents :-P)

We have 3 dogs. One is the boys that we got them about 2 yrs ago. The other two DH and I each had got "our own" thru the years they're both like 11 tho. I tell DH that DD will be getting a teacup puppy someday because she's a girl and she needs her own puppy.

Well my photographer called me because the weather here was all foggy and he wanted to shoot people at this certain spot, so Magoo and I got an impromptu photo shoot! For free! I also asked him if Sunday I'll get the photos because I want cyber Monday deals on cards, he said he'd try his best. So I guess we'll aee

Don't they make animatronic hamsters? They were all the rage a couple years ago

rivers and roads , I had to like that because of how much it made me laugh. I have my own hamster horror story. Let's hope I spoiler correctly because this is fairly gross.
My sister had a hamster when we were little. One day we noticed he appeared to be swelling in one spot on his lower back. A week or so later, he had a full on giant growth on the side of his lower back/butt. We assumed he had a tumor or something and wouldn't last much longer. Poor dying hamster gets left at home for the day while we go visit relatives for Easter. We come home that night and the hamster had popped. Not even kidding. Whatever that growth was had somehow burst open and he was dead with a huge hole where the growth had been. My mom quickly took the cage outside and buried him before my sister could see, but I will never forget that image.
My stepdad also bought my sister a tropical bird once. And then proceeded to put the AC on 55 degrees and the bird froze to death. There are actually a few more pet horror stories from my childhood that I'll spare you all. Maybe that's part of why I'm so anti-pet right now, too.

piperhalliwell, HAHAH my people. I also have a few other disturbing pet stories. I don't know if we just had bad luck with pets or if we were the problem. Your story makes me feel better.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one, too! I think ours was a mix of bad luck and weird family dynamics affecting the poor defenseless animals.
TTMA babies and music. This kid could not give a flying shit if I turn music on, or sing, or dance, or clap. He has no interest whatsoever. Will that come later or are some babies just not into music?
How do you guys incorporate music into their lives?

I just turn music on while I'm cleaning/doing dishes, plus I have it playing while in the car. It's my music though and not kiddy music, so maybe he just likes the beat? We've been playing music from the get-go, because DD loves it and loves dancing, so maybe that's why DS also loves it? I have no idea.
