LizInFL NOT overreacting! I'd let her know you're disappointed and give her a chance to fix it quickly (24 hrs) before you move on and leave a negative review. Look sometimes we all have to put in double time at work, a self employed person is no exception.
LizInFL I would start looking for someone else, give her a deadline of when to schedule, and ask for a refund of the deposit based on the poor service and poor communication.

Had our first pedi appt today. Everything looks good with O except the doctor was a little concerned about jaundice so he sent us to the hospital to get his levels rechecked. We are such FTPs lol I barely packed anything because our pediatrician is around the corner. However now we have to go to the hospital. O has already soiled his outfit. I had to breastfeed him in the car then change a diaper explosion. We are down to 1 diaper and still waiting to be called at the hospital!
Hiya. Had our 2 wk appointment and DS is about almost a half pound above his birth weight yay! And the nurse seemed surprised and concerned he only ate for 10minutes at a time and only one side. Ha! (Fwiw my first could take almost an hour omg).
Today is my parents last day in town, I am a little bit ready to get my house back but mostly sad they are going. They have been a huge help.
OK, last post...I'm off the ledge. I had called and left the photographer a message this morning and did hear back from her. Her email to me 'got stuck in her outbox'. I'm kind of mentally eye-rolling but for the sake of working together *in my house* with my kids and H, I am being totally nice and understanding like the gracious Southern belle I am We are scheduling for this coming week so I'm happy.

lol at me going to BRU. I got stuck in a vicious cycle of feeding, pooping, spitting up and changing clothes. It took me two hours to finally leave the house.

Hi all! Weird to think I'll be on the other side someday.
I definitely am team can't spoil a baby, but will admit that I don't know if "you can't overfeed a breastfed baby" is 100% true, since I offered every time he whimpered, and he has been in the 99% percentile for weight for forever (granted he is slimming down now). We will probably introduce a pacifier a little bit earlier than 4 months this time to see if they can soothe with that.
I'm home with J today because school was closed for conferences and he is refusing to nap and I'm pretending to work, but I really just want to nap and/or organize/nest, so I'm going a little bit crazy. This weekend it.is.on to get organized. If I survive the next 1.5 hours until the weekend.

tallblonde Lillian was basically attached to me all the time as a baby and still eats like a maniac. She's been in the 5th-10th percentile since 9 months (she dropped from about 40th percentile at birth for no apparent reason). So she's tiny, but damn that kid can eat. So, I think it depends on the baby and genetics. DH and I are on the smaller side. He's 5'6 and I'm 5'4. Our mothers are both 5'2 and thin.

jubilantsquirrel and shedreamsincolor I guess I'm not actually technically on maternity leave? We own the business so I feel a sense of obligation to keep it running smoothly. The replacement has been prepped for months though and my H told me it was as though she had never been in an OR before. Not exactly sure what went wrong, but I know the patient scheduled for tomorrow and he's not one to skip a beat around.
M had a really rough morning though so I'm not sure how feasible it will actually be to get there. Damn reflux.
sophiegrace and others - how do you know if baby has reflux and what are your best methods for resolving? In addition to the choking, my sister thinks Adeline has "quiet reflux" or "happy reflux" or something - I forget what she called it. She was here earlier and was doing all these little positions and got allllllll this gas out of Adeline. I sort of felt bad that I had no idea, because I mean she kind of cries and fusses but not like I've seen most babies with reflux. And she rarely spits up (except as it accompanies the choking).

Kid 3 was sick this morning (although thankfully it was short lived and she's been perfectly fine since around 9:30) so she didn't go to school. I took kid 4 to school and then went to Walmart with kid 5; on the way home, we stopped at Dunkin Donuts ($.99 iced coffee FTW!), and the cashier clarified whether I wanted regular or coffee or decaf because of the baby. I said that I wanted regular and he's the reason I need the caffeine.
After I picked kid 4 up from daycare, I took kid 5 to his two week checkup, and he's getting chunky! He was 7 lbs 13 oz at birth, down to 6 lbs 15 oz at his first doctor's appointment last Tuesday, and today he weighed 8 lbs 4 oz (and then pooped three times during his appointment).

Definitely genetics plays a huge part! I was a giant baby as well, so doesn't surprise me that J was so large. But he probably could have survived with a pacifier instead of nursing some of the times I fed him in hindsight.

sophiegrace, I totally get the obligation to make sure your business runs smoothly, I'm just sorry the replacement messed up so badly that you now have to step in and cover for her. I you're able to work something out for tomorrow and that it all goes smoothly.
Our pedi didn't mention percentiles etc at the 3 day appt. We'll see at next week's two week check.
I'm pretty sure they didn't do the percentiles at the 3 day check with DS. I don't remember if they started doing them at the 2 week appointment or the 1 month appointment.

My co-workers threw me a surprise shower today. It was really nice! Except their attempts to get me downstairs weren't working. First two of my co-workers asked me if I wanted to go on a walk with them and I was like "uhhh... no" and then they were like "Oh, there's popcorn downstairs, do you want to go get some?" And I was like "No thanks, I'm good". Finally one of my co-workers was like "Dude, just come downstairs already!" Oops! But they got me some really nice gifts and we had some cake and also brownies and ice cream.
