When do you leave, tkford216 ? I hate packing. I always save it for the last minute, but I've gotten slightly better now that I'm responsible for a child too.
1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I was pretty consistent for years that I wanted to split my time as a trash man and a teacher. I got 1/2 of it
2. If you could drop everything and take a trip, without worrying about money or kids or work or anything, where would you go? Oh man. So much of me wants to just relax on a caribbean island, drink, and read books uninterrupted. H and I have never been to Europe together, and I'd really like to do that too.
3. Are you an early bird or a night owl (if kids weren't a concern)? I was never either extreme. 11-12 was a good bed time and waking up around 8 was ideal.
4. Our babies are young yet, but what is your favorite thing about yours so far (personality, looks, whatever)? He looks just like his dad. He LOVES people watching. He seems like he's going to have a good sense of humor. I hope so!
5. What is your easy go-to for calming fussy baby? Boobs. The easiest.

1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a teacher. But my mom (a teacher) told me she wouldn't pay for college if that was my career plan because teaching is a thankless, underpaid job. (Also, as an adult, I know that being a teacher wouldn't be a good job for me).
2. If you could drop everything and take a trip, without worrying about money or kids or work or anything, where would you go? Italy! I have been to Europe twice, and both times train strikes prevented me from visiting Italy.
3. Are you an early bird or a night owl (if kids weren't a concern)? early bird.
4. Our babies are young yet, but what is your favorite thing about yours so far (personality, looks, whatever)? I love that she is happy, and able to entertain herself and that she loves books. Also, she is really cute.
5. What is your easy go-to for calming fussy baby? Taking her temperature with our infrared thermometer. The one we got talks (pretty loudly actually) and will almost always get a smile out of her. Another option is reading Where's Spot? (We read that book about 20 times a day).
1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to draw for Disney. I even wrote an essay about it in middle school. I used to draw characters constantly, and I was convinced I could just send them some of my "work" and they'd hire me, lol.
2. If you could drop everything and take a trip, without worrying about money or kids or work or anything, where would you go?
I really want to visit Ireland.
3. Are you an early bird or a night owl (if kids weren't a concern)?
I would prefer to sleep later and stay awake later, but I'm really at my most productive first thing in the morning. So, really, I just suck all day.
4. Our babies are young yet, but what is your favorite thing about yours so far (personality, looks, whatever)?
It's a toss up between his budding sense of humor and his laid back nature. I just love his personality, stubbornness and all. I'm also totally in love with his big blue eyes.

1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
The first time I remember thinking about career was at the beginning of high school (I guess I was in denial about becoming a grown-up before that) when I thought I might like graphic design. Going into university I thought I would pursue speech pathology but I fell in love with research my first summer in the lab and never turned back.
2. If you could drop everything and take a trip, without worrying about money or kids or work or anything, where would you go?
Scotland (all of the British Isles since we're dreaming). DH and I hope to take that trip someday.
3. Are you an early bird or a night owl (if kids weren't a concern)?
More night owl but nothing to the extreme.
4. Our babies are young yet, but what is your favorite thing about yours so far (personality, looks, whatever)?
Liam has a smile that just radiates joy and sometimes mischief. Heather examines things so closely and is so determined. She also tends to have her little tongue sticking out and it's adorable. They also both love their big sister more than anything.
