Just kidding. Monday can bite me. I feel like I have 2 weeks of chores and stuff to do before Thursday. And I'm working tonight and Wednesday night. Not enough hours in the day! Ughhhhh. On a positive note, L has been sleeping better than ever in her life. We have had one wake up a night that has required me to go in (a few other fusses that woke me, but she put herself back to sleep). Life. Changing.
I also have about 2 weeks of chores to do before Thursday as we are hosting thanksgiving at our house. And with daycare closed Wednesday I don't even have the option to do daycare one day and stay home to clean, like I probably would have done. Boo.

We got massive snow. It was supposed to be 1-3cm and we're at at least 10 now. The dogs are loving it. Dh took a snow day because our appointment for winter tires is tomorrow and the roads are scary right now. Gives the urge to put up my Christmas tree! Winter wonderland here!

How can a weekend be so busy and still result in so little getting done? I'm so glad we aren't hosting Thanksgiving or I'd be full speed shoving shit in closets just to make my house presentable. Plus we're picking paint colors for the downstairs, so I have one wall with giant squares of different shades of green and gray. It's real cute, let me tell you.
L took her first unassisted steps this Saturday...for DH. I could have cried both from jealousy and being a proud mama. She took a few more after that, so I did get to see some. Then Sunday she refused to do it again, so I'll be interested to see how long it takes before walking really takes off. She's also working on cutting tooth number 5 = whiney baby. Learning and growing is so hard.

I feel the same way about the weekend! Didn't slow down. Nothing got done. And we are hosting 😫 I feel insane. Commence closet stuffing. Go L with the walking!! I can't believe F16 babies are walking. Can't take it. Time going too fast!!!
It's a good thing we aren't here often. This place is not at all baby proofed. It's more like anti-baby proofed.
So you made it! What did you end up doing about the crib?
We did! We got in about 530 last night. My FIL rigged up the crib so that there's no way to put the sides down. (I will say, they make cribs so much better these days. This thing feels like it would fall apart with a little too much weight in it.) Last night went.. okay. It took an hour and a half to get him to sleep. And then he woke up twice throughout the night. (At one point I was on the twin bed - yes we are in separate twin beds - with the dog at my feet and the baby on my chest, and that's how we slept for a while.) Hopefully tonight will be better.
Things all back to normal in your house after your trip?
Arggggh just realized that I NEED to take C to get a haircut today. It's unavoidable. He's so shaggy. Do not have time. Also, I have been giving L 5 mins to CIO in her crib lately, because I'm a wimp and can't handle much more. And she almost always falls asleep at 4.5 minutes. Like, to the second. It's so weird.

That's good they were able to situate something so it's safe, hopefully without putting up much of a fight!
We are back to normal, thankfully! We all slept amazingly in our own beds last night 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Morning! Sorry for the busy weekends! I hope you catch a break somewhere.
We are traveling. Leaving Wednesday. I'm so excited to visit family but dreading the terrible sleep that usually follows. And I woke up feeling like my throat was on fire, so I hope that passes quickly.
Morning! I woke up to H sitting on the couch, polishing off a brand new container of blueberries. So far we haven't done much this morning. H got an ariel dress up dress and now my house is covered in teal glitter. Plans for the rest of the day include cleaning because, like the rest of you, we had a super busy weekend so we just piled shit everywhere instead of putting anything away. I also started putting up the Christmas tree yesterday so I need to finish fluffing it so we can decorate it. 🎄

I guess it is better to polish off a container of blueberries than a container of ice cream.

We got some snow yesterday so this morning we had a hearty breakfast and then I managed to put all of us into snowsuits without too many tears. The girls did fine in the snow (H was army crawling around) but Liam cried whenever I wasn't holding him.
DD is at daycare so it's just me and DS. I'm currently blasting a Britney Spears playlist and tidying the living room. It will last all of 2 seconds before it's a mess again, I know it.
I'm having a hard time getting the little vanity I wanted to get DD for Christmas. It's only carried at Walmart, but both stores are out of stock. So we took to online shopping last night. It was in stock online then, so we ordered it. Now today, I get an email that the other 2 items we bought have been shipped, but not the vanity, because it's now out of stock. Grr. Hopefully it comes before Christmas.

Wow, that is frustrating. Is there a customer service number you could call to see how long they expect it to be?
I'm cleaning and have GG on in the background. It's the episode where they want to rename the streets and Kurt said "Crusty Bulge" and I literally LOL'd.
ETA I have to add him to my top 5 favorites. He's awesome.

We called a snow day on my mall trip and Dh didn't go into work. A nice butternut squash soup for lunch.... Magoo went to daycare and I picked him up she said she had to put him in The exersaucer because he was being a daredevil today and was climbing everything and obviously kept falling, no sooner does he get home than he does something similar and face plants and now has a big fat lip.....lol. Poor baby. We will be out all day tomorrow, all the lists today.

L is trying to crawl back in the womb, I swear. She won't let me go anywhere or do anything without immediate tears. She has to be attached to me, preferably sitting on my lap/chest or she whines. This post has taken me fifteen minutes to write because she also needs my complete and total attention at all times. What the hell, honey? I guess we'll be having sandwiches for dinner because I certainly can't cook like this with no DH back up. Babies be cray.
And when I mention *anything* I would like done different or special for him, what I hear back is "It's a wonder any of my kids survived!"
Sigh.
H mentioned to a coworker our thanksgiving schedule and said how he's worried since the kids will miss their afternoon nap bc of it. Coworker scoffed at him and said how he didn't do nap schedules with his kids and they turned out fine. H was like uh there's more than one way to raise kids. I put my kids down around 1-2pm every day. It's not like I'm freaking out when it's 1:05 that nap time is ruined but I do like a routine. Why do people get so weirded out when someone likes to do something differently?

My H's aunt makes these comments. I try to just say "yeah, I think we're all just doing what we think isn't best with the information we have." Things change. best practices change.
