And when I mention *anything* I would like done different or special for him, what I hear back is "It's a wonder any of my kids survived!"
Sigh.
H mentioned to a coworker our thanksgiving schedule and said how he's worried since the kids will miss their afternoon nap bc of it. Coworker scoffed at him and said how he didn't do nap schedules with his kids and they turned out fine. H was like uh there's more than one way to raise kids. I put my kids down around 1-2pm every day. It's not like I'm freaking out when it's 1:05 that nap time is ruined but I do like a routine. Why do people get so weirded out when someone likes to do something differently?
That's the most annoying thing. 1) No I cannot go sit somewhere all day and not give my baby a nap. It just doesn't work that way. Babies need naps. 2) No I cannot just go lay my baby down in a (strange) room and expect them to go to sleep.
Luckily our family is all in town and for my side we have started to host holiday get togethers so that the kids can roam safely and take naps as needed. It's really hard to enjoy holiday get togethers as a parent of young children when you're chasing after them constantly trying to keep them from tearing into everything at someone else's house.

Sorry I suck at responding. I think he's teething on top, gums look swollen but no teeth and doesn't look like they'll push through anytime soon. Yes MH is with me!
