Good morning! Lazy day at home for us. I need to finish fluffing the tree so I can start decorating it. DH is working today and I don't expect him to be home until late. So far I bought myself an Apple Watch, a car seat for S, and a couple toys. I saw the PBK AC is 20-40% off today so I will probably order that too.

We're having Thanksgiving today at my sister's house. We hardly ever do holidays the day of because of everyone's schedule, and today was the only day my brother's ex would let him have his daughter.

Happy Friday!
I made the mistake of letting DS "sleep in" this am. Now naptime has been horrible all day. 2nd attempt at our afternoon nap and he was whining/crying and babbling nay-nay-nay-nay for 15 min before finally falling asleep. Is he trying to say no-no-no?
I got a car seat today too. I only bought one though because my sister in law offered us their old one for DH's car - I know they say not to use a used car seat but I'm thinking this one will be ok? It's not expired, and I know for sure it's never been in an accident. Would you guys be ok with a used car seat in these circumstances?
I am currently looking at an imp who cut his afternoon nap in half, of the best idea since now anything is making him whine. Tomorrow is our last swim class. I will likely reenroll for winter but I'm happy for the break. Then we have a 9year old birthday party for which I still have not gotten a gift. So tomorrow first think I have to run to toyrus or Walmart before swimming. Going to be awful.

I would use one in that circumstance, as long as I also trusted their cleaning methods. That's the only other detail that gets overlooked and can alter the safety of a seat.

How can the cleaning method alter the safety? Am I dummy for not knowing this?

We did the same back when DS was a baby for an extra convertible for H's truck. It came from H's cousin, so like you said, you know it's condition. I think it's fine.

No! Not a dummy. Car seats (the straps in particular) are sensitive and can not be cleaned with anything harsh (bleach, vinegar, strong detergents, etc). They also can not be put in a washing machine. It can damage the fibers and weaken them.

Not you're not a dummy. It's something about the straps and being flame retardant, off the top of my head.

I think they recommend against because a lot of times you don't know the accident history. I would be comfortable using that one.
The baby is still awake, well not still. She went to sleep once, then woke up, back to sleep and then up again. I'd be mad if she wasn't so cute. Let's hope third times the charm.
