Yes wtf is wrong with Rory? Not how or where I thought she'd be. I'm only through the second episode now, and won't get to the next two until next week. I like it so far but it's all so very weird. I just.. idk.

I like ep 4 best
I get the struggle to establish a career but I feel like in that regard she's more like 25 than 32. Or taking advantage of the fact that she has an excellent safety net of well off friends and family.
Oh and Paul annoyed me - more that Rory is forgetting for months to break up with him, she's litterally stringing him along for years while having her affair with Logan. And Logan is sweet, except for that rather important detail about being engaged, smh
Oh random complaint - only Rory seems to have trouble with cell phone reception, Lorelai doesn't, and Rory never has issues when she wants to call Logan. Only when it's convenient for a gag a la opening scene
Just finished. I think they did an amazing job overall.
My only real complaint is why bring Tristan back if Chad Michael Murray wasn't coming back? The scene was not significant and they could have lead into Paris's meltdown without him.
I agree that Rory's woe is me storyline was a bit irritating. It would have been better if they demonstrated a bit more how she'd had success (more than just one article) and had hit a rough patch maybe? Because the way it was presented I agree was more like a 25yo.
And I also had the 'other woman' thought but I love logan so much I was willing to look the other way. Also, it's gotta be his kid, right? So in my fantasy world he dumps the heiress and he and Rory get married.
Also- why was jess not at the wedding? You're gonna drag lane and Michel out at whatever hour (and why was there a dance class if it was supposed to be so late?), but not jess? And why was Emily still in Nantucket (5+ hours away) if the wedding was the next morning?
And now I'm soooo curious, if the last 4 words were always supposed to be the last 4 words was the original storyline that that happened at 18? 21? You never know how long a show will go on so was the original plan a total lorelia do-over?

ok, so now i am done. I am echo-ing so much that has already been said.
i do have to say it felt almost "gimmicky" trying to get all these people in. - "hi, Mr. Kim" - bumping in to Dean at the store - sookie in the kitchen for like 3 minutes - talking to jackson at the festival - rando puff girl in the bathroom
it was like they had to fit everyone in, in so little time. I think i would have like it to be a real season instead of 4 episodes, they would have been able to spread it out a little
- it has to be logan;s right. It can't be random wookie, or abandon Paul. - i also always hoped for Logan and Rory to be together, i kept waiting for him to call it off with the other girl and follow his heart for once, instead of his family's plan.
Not reading anything yet. I'm working on Summer atm. Just here to say Rory's acting is far worse now than it was before. And hello Jess's ass. That was a nice shot.

Mr. Kim? Has to be Logan's. That weird musical was just weird. I kind of figured it would end with a wedding or baby but kind of thought it would be Jess/Rory although I was always rooting for logan
So, you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be.. whelmed?
This is how I feel. I think I had built it up too much in my head. Some parts felt authentic, some felt forced and ridiculous and like they were trying to make a romcom movie, blech. Rory's storyline was annoying as fuck. What was even the point of Paul? WHY CAN'T SHE JUST BE WITH JESS? Poor Jess. But really he's better off without her at this point because she's just an annoying spoiled brat that will forever treat men like shit. Okay, now that that's off my chest...
I'm glad they brought back all the old characters, but like someone else said, some of it felt forced and weird. The musical thing was a waste of quality GG time. I'm really happy Lorelai and Luke finally got it together. And I like how they did that. The last words... I kind of expected that. But what now? Will they make more? I need to see if she tells Logan and what they do. Though I'm assuming from her discussion with Christopher she is going to just raise the baby on her own and Logan may never know.
Agree that the musical was terrible. I actually fast-forwarded that part.
Agree that Rory's character development this time was terrible. She was never good at life but at least the original show showed some sort of progress (at least in terms of grades, career). This time she turned into a very unlikable character.
