Thanks everyone!!
Well, things went from 0 to 60 real quick yesterday. I had been having contractions all yesterday morning but they were kind of all over the place and they didn't seem to be getting any stronger. They eventually stopped at around 1:30pm. I figured that was that but they started back up again around 4:45pm. They were about 12-15 minutes apart and not super strong at all. They continued throughout the evening, but would go from 7-8 minutes apart down to 3-4 and then back to 7-8. However they did start to get stronger. I could still talk, walk and breathe through them though. MH encouraged me to call the hospital given my history and they had me come in. We got DS situated with my ILs and got to triage at midnight. They monitored me and said I was having strong contractions but was still at a 3. They had me walk for an hour.
As soon as we started walking the contractions got worse. I could talk through them if I concentrated but I couldn't walk through them. We kept going and soon enough I could only moan and groan through the contractions. At one point I must have been pretty loud because a couple of random nurses came out to see what was going on (I wasn't in the L&D hallway). One nurse just kept talking to us and whenever I would have a contraction she would rub my back and arms. It was nice of her, but also really weird. Finally I told MH that I couldn't walk anymore and we headed back to triage before the hour was up. The nurse tried to check me, but she couldn't feel my cervix, so she grabbed another nurse who checked me and said "holy shit balls". I was at a 9, but apparently my waters were bulging. I started to cry and say I couldn't do another unplanned med free delivery. She told me they would try to get an epidural but if my water broke there wasn't anything they could do. They wheeled me from triage to L&D and I was pretty hysterical. I had two contractions and I moved to my side so I could squeeze my legs together because for some reason I thought this would stop my water from breaking (spoiler alert: it didn't). Water broke on the next contraction and I just kept yelling "it broke! It broke!" I pushed on the next contraction and knew it wouldn't take much more for him to be born. Almost immediately I had another contraction and let out the world's loudest scream (seriously, my throat still hurts) and out he came. A nurse caught him because they couldn't get a doctor there.
I had a 2 degree tear, which I guess is the same place I tore last time. And even though I was at the hospital for 2 hours before we was born, I still ended up with another unplanned med free birth. We're both doing perfect though!
Owen Kevin was born at 2:04am at 39w5d and weighs 8lbs 3oz and is 20 inches long. He's beautiful and perfect and is a clone of big brother.
Wow lady, what a crazy progression! You are absolutely amazing. And O is gorgeous. I definitely see the resemblance to your big boy! Congratulations again!!
This is insane!!!! I loved reading your story, and I'm glad it wasn't long being med free - I can't believe this happened again lol. CONGRATULATIONS he is perfect!!
