Morning!
We're still at the hospital but should be going home around noon today. Everything is going well! DS2 is doing great with nursing and the little dude sure likes to sleep. DS1 came out yesterday to meet him but wasn't super impressed. He was way more interested in all the buttons and things with wheels he could push. I'm excited to get home and get these two acquainted with each other. And also to sleep (or at least lay) in my own bed.
I finally broke out my Lille Baby carrier that I bought way back on Amazon Prime Day. LO loves it! This is a huge relief, as I'm taking her into Boston with me tomorrow night for a Gala.
Everyone from my firm is coming and supposedly Cute Partner is too (not sure if anyone from his new office is joining him). I'm really excited to see all of them. I had a dream the other day that CP called me just to catch up. I think I'm missing interacting with people that aren't children or MH.

THIS is exciting news. Let us all lie vicariously through you, getting out and going to a gala AND bonus that CP might be there.

So far day 1 of being alone with the 2 littles is going ok. I got breakfast and a shower. Lillian is being cooperative and gentle with Lilah. We had some gas issues early on and lots of crying, but she seems better now and is happily nursing. We are supposed to go to a park but it looks like it might rain. We'll drive over anyway I think. Then store, lunch, and hopefully a nap. DH should be home around 4:30.
Some well dressed guy just bicycled up to my neighbors house. He's ringing their doorbell it seems. This is weird. I applaud his environmental consciousness but we do not live in an area where you'd see someone bicycle up to another persons house.

Colin decided that I wasn't getting either right away and peed out the top of his diaper and all over his back. I guess I wasnt careful tucking it away. But he's been taken care of and I made some breakfast before his next feeding.

We are stuck in a cluster feeding cycle. Seriously DS2 has eaten every 1.5 hours since about 10 PM. I am wiped. I know these marathon nursing sessions are normal but man I feel like a freaking milk machine right now!
LO's umbilical stump is almost off and underneath it doesn't look good. I have an appointment to take her to the pedi at 3:30 😕
Hopefully my car will work by then. MH is on my last nerve. His plan today was to take a bunch of cans and bottles to return. Well he left my fucking trunk open all morning as he leisurely loaded the car while I dealt with both kids. And now the battery is dead so we're waiting for AAA to come jump it for us. Seriously irate but trying not to show it.
I'm curious about D's cord stump ? I thought Alecs looked bad but the pedi said it was fine. There was no smell but it looked raw/waxy/gooey inside the button once the cord fell off. dashook
Bicycle man riddle solved, he came to our house too. He's a financial planner.
That's so weird. There was a junky white car driving up and down my street just now. Luckily it's gone now but it was creeping me out. I'd rather have financial bike guy. Did you actually answer the door?
Morning all! L had a weight check this morning, she went from 8.1 to 8.6 and she looks perfect! Stopped at Panera for a bagel on the way home, spoiler alert - it was amazing! H seems to be feeling a little better. His plan is to sleep all day which I guess is fine since DS is at daycare today so me and L can just hang out. I go back and forth about feeling guilty and not guilty for sending him to daycare 2-3 days a week while I'm at home. I know he loves it there, but I still feel like if I'm home I just want him home to snuggle with. The mom guilt is real 😕

Sorry if this is gross.
It has smelled a tiny bit the past few days but no discharge or anything. This morning the stump is hanging on by just a thread. When I was changing her clothes she was screaming hard. When she did that the top of the belly button underneath looked red and like it was bulging out (hernia?) and in the middle there was some pus. I figure it can't hurt to have the pedi take a look. I called and described it to them and they agreed.
Of course now that she's peacefully sleeping on me (not screaming and straining), it looks okay. But I also forewent a onesie today and just put her in a tshirt and pants so the thing can be exposed to air a little more.
dashook SAME EXACT thing with Alec. When he cries/screams it bulges out and was reddish with yellowish pus at the base. That was like 8ish days ago and it looks better the past couple days. Let me know what the pedi says, can't hurt to hear another ones opinion.

Normally I would not have answered BUT I've been mostly in this house for the past 3 weeks and it was great company lol, and also I was curious what his deal was.
For the record did not let him in, I stepped onto the porch.
I love opening my phone's browser in the morning and seeing something completely random that I was clearly Googling in the MOTN after seeing an ad for it on FB.
ClassyMrsA it's my first day solo too. I hope your day continues to go fairly well.
I made it to a friend's house this morning to catch up which was nice. Now we are home and DD is in her crib and ds is asleep on me. I think I might nap myself.
lol kleigh , your liveblog of the bicycling financial planner cracked me up! It's interesting what you can see when you're home all day. I feel like such a stalker/busybody sometimes.
C had her 2-week check-up this morning and is doing well. She has gained 1lb10 oz since her last appointment two weeks ago and is just shy of 10 lbs now. I'm curious to get B's records out and see his newborn/infant weights; he was not quite as big as she was at birth but I remember he gained quickly, too.
Speaking of umbilical cord stumps, C's fell off at some point last week but the scab remained. Her pedi cleaned it off and essentially picked the scab off this a.m., and then cauterized it so it wouldn't be "oozy" (her word). It looks like a totally normal bellybutton now. IIRC our then-pedi had to do something similar with B's.

First day of leave! Felt great putting up my out of office. N had her first appointment and is the same weight she was when we left the hospital on Sat, so the doctor was pleased since she prob lost a little more and gained it back.
I have a call out to my NP since I had a pretty decent sized clot last night that spooked me, but my discharge papers said to call if heavy bleeding followed, but it's the same as it was beforehand. I knew things were going too smoothly with my recovery.
