Ex-bumpie here... When everything started happening on the bump I kinda dipped but I have missed checking in and seeing how other D 14 ladies are doing and I'm pleasantly surprised w this board :-) thanks for making a new place for us to all share our stories.
LO and myself were hit by a drunk driver in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. I've been worried about her before (obviously) but this was my first "oh shit, ppl are crazy and something could really happen to her" moment. Poor baby was on her way home from getting her shots and then this... Thankfully we are fine. Car is banged up a bit and señora drunky's car was totaled and she was arrested (for violating the non-drinking terms of her bond on her current domestic violence case plus the dui). I pretty much don't want LO to leave the house anymore. Can we all put out babies in plastic bubbles??

Yesterday was a bad day to be on the road! My bother and his girlfriend were both in accidents yesterday! Like separate accidents at different times in different cars.
I'm paranoid of other drivers. As expensive as baby things are, we spared no expense when it came to safety features for LO's car seat.
Speaking of... Now that you've been in an accident, your car seat needs to be replaced. Call your insurance company. They may help cover replacement costs.

Oh my gosh I completely forgot. I'll call the ladies insurance company tomorrow. And have them cover the property damage. Thank you so much!
Yikes!! That would be so scary. I haven't had anything scary happen but I've definitely had some "oh shit, why did I decide to bring this helpless creature that I love so much into a world that is dangerous and scary" moments. It is eye opening when you begin to think about the rest of your life and how now you will never have another truly peaceful moment.

Wow, I'm surprised the police let you go home with the car seat or, at the very least, didn't mention it to you. When my sister was in an accident a few months ago, the police confiscated the car seat so that she couldn't take it with her. Admittedly, I have no idea how they expect you to get home without a car seat when they do this (they probably drive you themselves...) I just know that they took her seat.
It was at a time of day when they "weren't taking accident reports and we just need to exchange information" as per the rude 911 operator. Luckily a state highway patrolman stumbled onto the scene and noticed her acting strangely. I never once saw her or talked to her Bc she swerved and stopped on the left hand side of the highway and I stopped on the right. About 4 cop cars came and the medic but they all paid more attention to her than me. Oh well. Were ok and that's what matters. Thank you everyone!
