I really really hate how much of this board can relate to each other because of a loss.
hangry put that guilt aside. I +1 everything aggiebug said because sometimes I'm just not good with words. For me it was milestones and holidays that hit me harder than his actual angel day. I think it's a normal reaction to try and shield yourself from shitty times as well. Especially while enjoying the pure happiness of this new LO.
Another rainy day here too. N and I slept until 9 and totally missed seeing j before school, which makes me a little sad. Probably just hang around today, but tomorrow I want to get out and about some.
My college roommate is in labor, so will be stalking my phone for updates! Our girls will be college roomies in 2035 at Michigan:)
That's super fun! I don't think I mentioned it on here but I have a IRL N16 group with my good friends. We seriously all got pregnant at the same time. There are 3 of us that have had our babies so far and one more that just went past her due date yesterday. It's the second one for all of them. It was hilarious back in April when we started telling each other.
hangry No advice but LT for support. Does she seem to be bothered by it, as in does it seem itchy? Alec has little white "pimples" on his nose which the pedi at the hospitalsaid will clear up but it hasn't yet.
She doesn't seem bothered at all. Mom is more bothered, as vain as it sounds, because she's not as cute. There, I said it.

LOL, MH is "bothered" by it too so there it is lol.

I can relates. A has had it for about 3 weeks now. It's gotten better but I just want it gone.

LOL. Hey, no judgement here, I'd feel the same. IIRC B might have had a bit, but it cleared up relatively quickly.
I do remember the trick for cradle cap was olive oil, but can't remember what--if anything--I did for baby acne.
goldenlove3, DH has 10+ shirts in hospital bag because babies spit up! He'll go through 4 burp cloths in one feeding too! LizInFL, I'd love shopping with you for a cookie and train ride! lol I dislike shopping too. starbuck27, what's DR? Is that the separation? I thought everyone went thru that? How do you know if you get that or not? buckyb, good! Nothing new, won't be having a November baby it seems. 😔
cheshie6 yes the separation of abs. My MW last time told me to check you lie down and tighten the abs. Feel down the belly button line with two fingers and you can feel the separation. I dunno if everyone gets it.
Is this painful? If so, is it always painful or just when working out or using those muscles?
Hola everyone! Just got home from our newborn photos. L managed to poop all over the photographers hands and studio floor; it was like 5 minutes of straight pooping. Then decided to pee three times as well. Of course she was a lady and waited until she was set up and wrapped all cute. She really made the photographer work for it. We tried to get a pic with DS, it he was not having it. Maybe I'll try a mini session of my own in a few weeks.

hangry Lilah has some baby acne right now, too. It doesn't bother her, but it's really noticeable when she's been crying which bothers me. I've read it usually goes away on its own in a few weeks to a few months.
kleigh I had some separation with Lillian and I assume it's worse now. Doesn't hurt, just makes my stomach not flat which I hate.
Resident PT to answer some questions: Diastasis Recti is the separation of the abdominal muscles. More specifically it is the stretching of the connective tissue that connects the right and left sides of your outer abdominal muscles. This is common in pregnancy as the tissue is under constant stretch and strain. But not everyone develops it. It is usually not painful right at that point.
The purpose of this area is to provide stability of your core. It helps to keep organs in place and allow back muscles to work properly. If you have a DR, you are at higher risk for back pain. If you have a DR, there are specific exercises you should do to heal it and certain positions you should avoid.
You can tell if you have one by lying on your back and putting 2 fingers in the Center of your stomach, about two inches above your belly button. Just lift your head off the floor and if your fingers sink in, you have it. Depending how many finger widths fit in the "hole" can tell you the severity. 4 fingers is worse than 1 finger width. You can do this test at different points to see how far above or below your belly button it extends.
We are safe. One hit just up the road but it went North and around us. The kids and I moved downstairs and turned on the news. We were close but no immediate danger. The rest of the tornados were/are across the metro. Looks like the worst of the storms are passed.

jubilantsquirrel Right?? DH looked at me the other day and said, "you've got porn star boobs again. Why won't they just stay like that?" And he's sad of course because they are leaky and stuff so even once I'm cleared for regular adult interaction I'll still wear a bra.
starbuck27 Geez. Glad y'all are safe. Tornadoes are terrifying. Re walking: I sometimes get stiff/have pain in my hips when walking or getting up. It's mostly when I've done a lot of stuff or stood for a long time and then have been sitting after for a while.
I haven't experienced the exact pain you described. What I have is more of a downward pressure and pain around where my stitches and hemmorhoids are (sexy), which happens more when I've been on my feet a lot.
lol no more food talk, I am constantly hungry over here!
Yes!! What is that? Does it have anything to do with nursing do you think? Because I honestly don't think I've ever been hungry before.
ETA: missing words!
Totally! You have to eat more than while pregnant often to maintain supply. I can't remember if it was you asked or if it was someone else, but exercise won't impact supply, but if dieting to loss weight and exercising, then it could hurt supply.
I've pretty much only been watching the Food Network, I love the kid ones, they're so good!
I can't even bake a cake!! I want to simultaneously hug them and eat their delicious looking creations.
I'm always impressed with the Chopped Jr kids. Most of the time I don't even know what 80% of the ingredients in the basket are and they're always able to create awesome looking dishes!
I really want to bake some molasses cookies. I was watching an old holiday baking competition episode and someone made a gingersnap cookie sandwich with a lemon filling. I think I drooled all over my TV.

The night before the bar exam this summer I watched like 5 episodes of this show in a row in my hotel room. It was awesome.

It's so addicting! The regular Chopped is fun to watch, but I honestly don't think I would eat half the stuff they make. Like, I just don't think I'd ever willingly eat Squab.
