I have the safety first basic one that came as part of a baby care set and it takes a while to give a reading and doesn't beep (there's a thing that flashes that stops)
Anyone have a thermometer that they love? I know someone has a talking forehead thermometer, are those easy and accurate at this age? I've heard of them but never used one.
I've only used a forehead one and my pediatrician uses one too. I like it but I do have to take several readings to be sure, especially since V moves her head around so much. I have this one that also can go in the ear but I lost the ear piece:

I have a Dr. Madre talking forehead thermometer. I compared it with my BBT several times and it was accurate. We use it every day because DD thinks it is funny. It is fairly loud and there is no way to turn the sound off.

Our pediatrician likes/trusts rectal temps the most. It's easy with a diaper change and I love our vicks baby rectal thermometer and used it with ds and bought a second for dd.
I did by the exergen temporal one now that ds is bigger, but I find it's hit or miss with accuracy. I use that one to ballpark and the rectal for a reliable number.
I also have the exogen temoral thermometer and wouldnt trust it farther than I can throw it. Like musicalsilver I will use it before the rectal but I never go by it. The thermometer I have and love is by safety 1st. It's a 5 second read and glows red if there is a fever. You can do rectal, oral or axillary temps with it.
