shedreamsincolor I'm sorry you had a rough couple days with YH back at work. As far as naps here, ours vary. Could be half hour and then some days (like today) they had a 3.5hr nap, woke to eat, and are napping again.
shedreamsincolor This for us, too. C just woke up from a catnap, hung out for a bit, nursed, and will hopefully be comatose for awhile.
I've definitely had some hairy days with the two kiddos...late afternoons are the worst time of day, IMO, bc I'm exhausted, DS still seems to have energy to spare, and DH is almost home but not quite. I tell myself survival is the name of the game right now; I want an attagirl if everyone is alive and clothed when my H gets home at 5
So. much. Truth. And this is when the TV comes on here.

Yup. Daniel Tiger and Mickey Mouse are my saving grace right now.
2nd day in hospital for us! We have tomorrow night and we're home on Monday! I'm finding my ILs annoying but I'm 65% sure it's me and hormones and the other 35% is them! I feel like mil is treating me like I'm broken, the way she touched my face yesterday (why was she touching my face at all?) and today she just rubbed me the wrong way! Even their baby talk is annoying me! They mil commented that she knows what a hungry baby looks like... like nobody else knows! Just grrr... Please say this is normal?
That is awesome starbuck27, glad you enjoyed yourself. I remember my first solo outing when DS was born, I was practically skipping through the aisles.
And yes, Go Gators! It should be a lot closer, we've given them way too many points off interceptions. Grrr.
cheshie6 lol, yeah probably normal...combo of hormones, Mama Bear Syndrome, and ILs in-lawing My MIL usually isn't bad but some of her comments shortly after our babies were born made me want to TP her. Also, DNW my face touched...

cheshie6 - normal. My in laws have been here every weekend since the weekend before DS2 was born and they are driving me nuts. My MIL asked me today to "treat her just like I would treat my mom." Which I think was well intentioned but rubbed me the wrong way. I'm sorry, you're not my mom, and it sucks that my mom has been totally absent the last 6 months. That's another story but your feelings are legit!
W has seen me pump. So he's in the tub and picks up the cup we use to rinse him, holds it to his chest and says "I'm getting milk from my boobies. It makes lots of noise!" And then starts making a noise like my pump.
I died.
Omg he sounds like a hilarious little kid!! I love this!! 😂

It felt so good to leave the house alone and get my hair done. I don't feel like such an old lady anymore. And my hair stylist told she's pregnant! I'm super excited for her.
cheshie6 Ever since C was born, I've felt much more connected to my mom. I've always loved MIL but she's definitely been making comments lately that annoy me. I don't even know why really.

DH went into the city to a coworker's birthday party. Both kids are sleeping (for now) so I am drinking malbec, watching SVU reruns, and giving myself a pedicure for the first time since I was like 20 weeks pregnant! I did miss being able to do this.

Re naps: O's naps really vary, could be 30 mins or 2 hours throughout the day. I do notice he's starting to be awake more.
Ped today told us to stop putting anything on O's diaper rash. Apparently we were only supposed to put the hydrocortisone on twice a day... Which the ped neglected to tell us so we were doing it every diaper change which irritated his butt more! Now we are just washing with water and air drying then leaving diaper off as much as possible. Which is fun bc he pees if his penis touches air for more than 2.5 seconds. Any tips on this? We have started covering it with a wash cloth which doesn't stop him from peeing... He just pees on the wash cloth.
Omg my husband acts like the bedding is attacking him. Seriously, the noise he makes rolling over or some other normal bed/sleep-related activity is insane.
I just asked him if he could turn over more softly. He is offended.

I feel your pain.
When MH and I first moved in together I would often wake in the middle of the night yelling "EARTHQUAKE!!" and MH would always respond "no, that was just me rolling over".
I hear you waitwhat. Lilah woke up at 12:55. Went to sleep at about 10. I'm trying to get her to go back to sleep still. I already put her back in the pnp once only to have her instantly wake back up and want to nurse again. She spit up all over me so I had to take off my pjs. Hoping to get back to sleep soon since I'm making breakfast early for my mom and ILs. Hoping you get a longer stretch this time and can actually get some sleep.
waitwhat and cheshie6 Sorry, not french toast. I was thinking about it, but fil can't eat cinnamon? So making blueberry muffins, eggs, and hickory smoked bacon. Tea or coffee obvs so go with it. Getting up now to cook. 6:45 isn't like ridiculously early, but I'm so tired. Taking a nap today for sure.
LT for support danib. I had one recently that I *think* is gone but I'm too much of a wimp to really check.
Morning!
We let Bradley stay up late last night for a Christmas movie night and he and DH are still asleep.
Today is his 3rd birthday...I have no idea where the time has gone. We're having a little party for him next weekend so today we'll just do cake and presents; we talked about doing the zoo or a movie depending on weather and what sounds fun to him.
This baby slept from 9:30 pm UNTIL 5 am (?!?) and then from 6-9:15. We just nursed skin to skin and she stared up at me and held my finger the whole time. I am head over heels you guys. She came straight from heaven, I tell you.
I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I went to bed around 10:30 last night and left C with H, hoping to get a decent stretch of sleep. Woke up just now around 9. I asked H what happened last night and he said he fell asleep on the couch downstairs with C in the swing. He woke C up at 3 to eat because he was still sleeping and it had been 5 hours since he last ate. And he didn't wake up again until now around 9. He wasn't even crying but he woke me up with his grunts and squeaks. Now I'm wondering if something is wrong with him or is that swing just magic??

danib - I still have them too. The worst! dashook - that sounds like an amazing night. Love that she let you get some good rest goldenlove3 - DS1 was a total swing baby. He slept nights in there from 2 months until almost 6 months. Not ideal but what we needed to do so we could all get some sleep.
Last night was better than they have been. One long stretch from 10-2 then up again at about 5 and about 7. Having that one 4 hour stretch makes a huge difference! DS1 is still sick with a bad cold/cough. Just trying to keep the boys apart (impossible) and nurse a ton for the antibodies for DS2!!
D was up for 2 hours after her massive sleeps overnight. It's actually pretty fun when she's awake because she's so mellow and likes to look at things (mobiles, rattles, lights, etc). DS was so different at this age and would just fuss and cry when he was awake. It's amazing to me comparing the two.
H took DS to church and whenever they get back they're bringing me Starbucks. I'm trying not to be too impatient but I would really like some coffee now kthx.
Morning, just got home from church and don't have much going on today. Jealous of all the sleeping babies in here, anyone wanna trade? I'll throw in a crying toddler if it help 😉
