Hello!
Last night we had a 3 hour stretch and then two 2 hour stretches. I'll take it! DS2 is one week old today! I can't believe it's already been a week. DS1 seems to be adjusting pretty well. He's still not overly interested in the baby, but at least he isn't walking around the house just saying "no" over and over again.
Last night we put DS2 in the bath with DS1 just to see and aside from DS1 dumping a cup of water on his brother's face, it went pretty well. He even shared his rubber ducky and chip and Dale toy with him.
I have a big sleeper too. I feel like she's almost sleeping too much. She squeaked and woke me up twice last night but don't think I got her fully awake for a decent feeding either time.
We just took our first walk in the k'tan to scope out the Xmas trees around the corner, but we weren't feeling the little ones, so mh is going to whole foods to get a little one.
And just got fuschia freshly picked moccasins in the mail from a cousin. I am pretty excited about them, I've been eyeing them for years, but wouldn't let myself actually buy them. And should be a nice pink accessory to girl up her gender neutral outfits.
Hey! Add me to the no sleep club. DS2 had a fussy night. He has been fighting going back to sleep unless someone holds him. I've fallen asleep with him snuggled on the boppy a few times this week. I feel so bad and really don't want this to become a habit for either of us.
Both boys are napping and I'm enjoying a beer while watching the Packer game. My mom is coming up tomorrow so I need to finish up a few things before she gets here.

Re sleeping babies: my ped said we need to wake him up to feed every 4 hours if he doesn't wake by himself. Are others not told to do this? For the record this has only happened once... He is past his birth weight if that makes a difference.
cookswithwine9 are there any health concerns or weight gaim issues? Once past birth weight, and barring any concerns, we are team "never wake a sleeping baby"

waitwhatdanibjubilantsquirrel O will be 3 weeks on Tuesday. He's past birth weight, no health concerns and gaining fine. Like I said I only had to wake him once so far but I just thought it was odd I was still told to do that when others weren't.
Team don't wake a sleeping baby (assuming all is ok with weight, etc). I think C has only a couple 4-hour stretches, though--she's usually does between 2-3 hours overnight.
We had a fun day celebrating B's birthday...breakfast and presents this morning, a picnic at his favorite playground, saw Moana, and then home for dinner and cupcakes. C slept through the whole movie, bless her. Both kids are getting baths now and DH and I will watch TWD later on.
Weird things I Google: Does asparagus make breast milk taste weird?
Lol I googled best foods for the best tasting breast milk! Lol I want Liam to have the best breast milk ever!
Vent/ ILs are finally gone and I'm just a mean mama bear I think because they can do NOTHING right in my sight right now. Remember how I mentioned MIL kept asking about baby registry and wanted us to wait till after birth to buy stuff? A few hours after they left, mil tells DH that they are going grandparent shopping! So totally waited till he was born (and they know he was a he) to buy anything!?! Didn't buy a damn thing off registry either way! They are just eating crackers for me right now. /vent
cheshie6 I can relate to how you're feeling about your ILs right now. I had such a hard time with my MIL after Lillian was born. It really was like everything she did either annoyed me or made me mad for about a year. For me, it was definitely hormones and being overwhelmed by having a newborn for the first time. Now I will have those feelings every once in a while that are more from regular annoyance, but mostly I'm just thankful when my ILs can help out.
ClassyMrsA, I'm pretty sure it's hormones and so I was nice, said thank-you, et al but MIL was a mild annoyance to me before baby was a blip on the radar so baby and hormones are just making it worse for me and harder right now to just let go! The face touching /talking is something I've never noticed before and things she didn't do with me ever so they are new! Also, she's very different from my mom and my mom thought she was weird how she was handling the baby too. I'm wondering if she's over compensating because my mom will be with us till mid-January and she can't do that. I'm gonna try and be understanding but it's really hard right now!
It was hard waking up for this feeding just now. I was feeling rested after last night and didn't nap today, plus we went out to our town Christmas tree lighting tonight and it was the most walking I've done by a lot since D was born. So I guess I was more tired than I'd realized.
Wishing everyone warm covers and sleepy babies tonight!
We're not off to a great start tonight. His last feeding was at 10:30 and he ate 4oz but then he was wide awake. Finally got him to fall asleep around 1 and of course he wakes up before I had a chance to fall asleep. Hopefully he stays asleep after he's done with this bottle.
Weird things I Google: Does asparagus make breast milk taste weird?
I googled that a few days ago! We has an awful night earlier in the week after eating sauteed veggies...including asparagus, green peppers, and onions. I think the peppers are to blame, so I'm limiting them for a bit. I already avoid broccoli and cauliflower since we had am unfortunately NYE that involved a cauliflower crust pizza and a very very angry baby a few years ago.
Trying to get this baby back to sleep. Now I feel stupid for waking her up to eat on the left side. She was fast asleep after the right. Sigh. It's been 45 minutes since we woke up so far.
I woke up absolutely covered in sweat. So much so I made DH give me a towel because my side of the bed is now wet and cold. How long does this part last again? It sucks. I go to bed freezing and wake up super hot and wet.
Ooo...she might be passing out. I'll try to transfer her to the pnp soon.
We're up. During both her wakeups tonight D has given me trouble latching and while we try she just farts away until it becomes something more and I have to stop, unswaddle her, and change her (which I hate to do in the night because it wakes her up so much).
Ughh I hope she falls back asleep after this. I'm still feeling really tired and even though I got a decent stretch (3.5 maybe?) it was interrupted by her fussing a time or two, and even more often by me being absolutely drenched in cold sweat--grossest night yet!
danib yay for some solid sleep!! ClassyMrsA, sounds like you and I are in a similar boat. I wake up freezing though because I'm all wet, gah! Idk how long this lasts; I never had it like this with DS.
dashook I didn't have night sweats with my first, either, so it was weird waking up the first couple times soaking wet. Took me a bit to figure out what was going on.
ClassyMrsA the worst seems to be behind me, but I'm still having night sweats randomly (like last night); thankfully they are a lot more mild (just at the nape of my neck) than they were earlier.
