We had a lovely evening of Chinese takeout, a movie, and wine. Then for some reason I got irritated with DH for giving me the world-record fastest kiss and then giving the baby two long kisses. I'm jealous of the attention he gives my daughter!? That's so wrong

Yesterday was the first day I could spend any sort of extra money after many months. I went a little overboard.I bought DS 4 new books because we have read his others over and over again. Got him a few stuffed animals. He loves little ones thar he can hold. Also got DH a giant spiderman ball pillow because I have caught him on the couch laying on the boppy. 2 new animated Batman movies. I also got me a book. However, everything was on sale.
Good morning ladies! I have a day date planned with my H...he is so excited and I am trying to be but it is so hard leaving my baby especially now that I'm back to work every minute with him seems precious. On the other hand I know it's good for him if mommy and daddy have a good relationship so I'm trying to be excited. I'm also hoping he will take a bottle since he tends to hunger strike and just wait for me which breaks my heart. I have to be gone for about 12 hours for work on Tuesday and it is stressing me out thinking about it

Dh & I have big plans of cleaning the house & yard today. My mom is going to come over to watch lo while we do that. Then tonight dh is cooking a steak & lobster dinner & I'm making chocolate molten cake. I'm so excited about our dinner!!

I'm like this too! DH and I used to kiss each other 3 times in a row before we part ways in the morning. When I was on maternity leave, he would sometimes kiss LO on the head while I'm holding him and just take off. I'm left hanging with my lips pursed and eyes closed. (Womp, womp). Good thing LO is there to take all my kisses.
LO has a new voice the past few days. It is a high pitched squeal/screech/yell that's quite painful to our ears. I can't tell if she's frustrated or excited or just exercising her vocal cords when she does it. I liked the coos much better.
We are stuck at home. LO was up all night coughing and didn't sleep more than 5 hours combined. Got him in the hot steamy bathroom this morning and he's asleep in his swing. Dexter season 3 here we come....exciting stuff :/

It's cleaning and laundry day here. The best part? H is helping. Which is awesome.
We stayed up late last night after M went to bed and watched a movie together. Usually M fights sleep so much that the minute he's down we are rushing to bed so we don't miss any sleep. Having our first night of staying up "after the kids go to bed" was awesome. 1 am bedtime, not so much, but it was so worth it to snuggle with H for a few hours. We watched The King's Speech and now I'm thinking in a British accent.
songbirdsinging55, I have the hardest time not buying all the cute things for DD too-especially when they're on sale!
zengal, I don't think that's bad at all! It doesn't mean that you love your daughter any less, or that you don't want your DH to love her either. I think it just means that you would like to keep getting a reasonable amount of love/attentiveness from him too like before you had any children. That's just natural!
tacocat, (hugs)! I hope your LO feels better soon and that you are all able to get more sleep!
We're still a work in progress in the sleep without being held area, but DH and I went to bed at the same time as DD last night-around one-something, and DD didn't wake up until 5:00! This is a HUGE improvement for us, especially since she did another stretch of sleep from around 7:00 and didn't wake up until almost 10:00! I think that it was her Valentine's Day gift to us, and just hope that she doesn't decide to make up for it tonight. Maybe this could be the start of a better sleep pattern? (insert hopeful font here).

gldnbearztacocat My DD does the exact same thing with her voice. It makes my voice hurt just listening to her, but I think you're right that she's just exercising her voice and practicing for babbling coming up soon.
zengal I also get jealous of DD sometimes. DH accidentally calls her names like "Sweet Pea" that used to be my name he'd call me. He feels badly when he slips up, but I just love how she already has him wrapped around her finger.
My LO was really fighting sleep last night. She hardly napped all day, other than a few 15 minute "boob naps" (during feeding times). Luckily, my MIL and FIL came over at about 1pm and stayed through dinner, so I was able to take some breaks and run to the grocery store (and buy my favorite beer right now...Firestone Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout...mmmmm!). She was "raging against the boob" last night (which she typically does when she's not getting enough milk. Then she "raged against the bottle," too. That's when I knew, she was just extremely tired! So we got her down, and lo and behold, she slept 9 hours!
We're not doing anything special for Valentine's Day. However, I told my hubbie this week that I need a break this weekend...so...I'm heading to Macy's for a little shopping! :-) I have some baby clothes to return, and I need to pick up a few things for my return to work. I can't wait to get out of the house...even if it involves pumping in a mall parking lot!
Hahah "rage against the boob"...you should get an album cover and make a spinoff...lol calimomof1
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'm sitting in silence while he sleeps. Hope it lasts, poor guy. I've been looking at funny photos on instagram to improve my mood...these crack me up:

Gotta brag on my H for a minute. I have a terrible cold and last night he offered to let me knock myself out with cold medicine and he'd do all of LO's MOTN feedings. Realized the night time cold meds we had on hand were contradictory to BF'ing so that part was a no-go but I did get to sleep all night without getting up. I only feel marginally better but it was incredibly sweet of him and I actually missed LO in the night so it was nice to see her this morning.
Also, +1 for the screech club. LO has really discovered some new sounds over the past couple of weeks. They are kind of hilarious and I'm also a little wary of doing it out in public She especially likes to utilize the screech/scream when the Wubbanub falls out of her mouth.
HutterFlutter I don't know if you have updated us anywhere on this board because I've been busy. What is the status of your pumping situation??
Thanks for asking! I mentioned it in the "proud of.." thread. I guess my constant nagging and subtle hints that I was close to reporting my facility got me a different space. I am now pumping in the beauty shop on the days they're not there, and when they are, I go in the medical records room. I feel so accomplished that I succeeded in standing up for my daughter.

Also, stress really does affect your supply. I would only get about 5 oz a session when I was stuck in the bathroom and the day I moved to the beauty shop I got 9 oz in the first session!
Doing some work from home, buying for spring. This whole mock-turtleneck fad has got to stop. Very few people look good in any kind of turtleneck. Blech.

Whaaaaa??? Where is this mock-turtleneck trend happening?!?! Please say it isn't so!!
