I'm around. Just realized last night the cleaners are coming and there is shit everywhere. Plus Christmas decor. Pretty sure I should cancel cleaning in December. I need to do a wrapathon when they're done.

2 months old yesterday. Based on my measurements at home he's 11.5 lbs and 23 3/4 inches. He's such a happy baby. Only cries when he's tired or hungry.

Going to a friend's for a play date with her kids. I really need to make plans to get out of the house more. I start losing my patience with DD by noon if we don't and it's not that she's being bad, I just find trying to keep her entertained exhausting. She's not good at playing by herself and constantly begging for my attention even minutes after we finish an activity.
DS2 is demanding to be held nonstop today, which is unusual for him. I've tried to move him after he falls asleep but nope. The dog is taking advantage of me being stuck as a human pillow right now.
Amen to getting a house cleaner once I'm back to work. Not that I do a ton of cleaning now, but that's beside the point.

becole I hate having to pre clean for the cleaners. Every two weeks you would think I could keep the house somewhat clutter free in that time but nope. It doesn't help that they clean on a Friday so the weekend ruins it almost immediately.
hikingmama222 and any other mom in this situation - that is tough that you are home with both kids. I love my toddler but I just don't have the patience to entertain her to the level she needs. I would probably end up letting her watch way too much tv.

vavavictoria She won't even sit and watch TV for long! She just has so much energy. In January I'm moving her to the 3 afternoon a week preschool class and signing her up for swimming on top of gymnastics and dance she already does. Hoping it helps get us through the winter.
Last night, DD2's eye doctor appointment took almost 2 hours. This was a vision follow-up because she was on the brink of needed glasses in July. They did the exam and then determined they needed to dilate her eyes to get a more accurate assessment. The drops take 40 minutes to do their thing, so we went to McDonald's to grab some food and went back to the office. They redid the entire test again, and then we had to pick out frames. We didn't get home until 7pm. DD is so excited to be getting glasses, and the ones we picked out are super cute. We'll see how long the excitement lasts after she gets them.
DS is 11 weeks old today. Ever since I started back to work and then especially with the crib transition last week, DS's schedule is all screwed up. He's been doing pretty well in the crib, but hopefully he'll get back on his previous one wake-up per night schedule soon. When I dropped him off at daycare, this morning, I was able to transfer him from his car seat to the crib without him waking up, which I was pretty psyched about. I wonder how long he stayed asleep, though.
Here he is yesterday morning, all ready for Daddy to bring him to Grammie and Grampie's house for the day. He's a happy boy and really only gets cranky when he's hungry or tired. He loves to be social and smile and talk to everyone. He will be psyched when he can sit up.
hikingmama222 look at him hold his head up! Such a cutie @kitchen I told my husband I want a regular cleaning service for Christmas. He thought I was kidding. vavavictoria look at that little tongue! So cute jwinct he looks so much like your girls!
DS is at daycare today, and had a meltdown at drop off. I can't wait to get back to our normal week schedule when I am working. It's like he knows I am home and just leaving him at daycare.
I had to stop by my work to drop off open enrollment forms for my health insurance, and I found out my work bestie gave her two weeks today. I am so bummed she won't be there when I get back
+1 to having crap everywhere in my house. We have a two bedroom with zero storage, so the whole house is just clutter. Either today or tomorrow I am going through to toys to weed out to make room for Christmas stuff.
DD will be 10 weeks on Friday. Where did my maternity leave go?! I can't believe it is almost over.
Tried a bottle for the first time last night. Although he got down 3 oz, it wasn't pretty. Definitely can't leave him with a sitter yet. Next time we'll try when he's not so hungry and warm the bottle a bit more.
DD is two today! She's grown so much in the last couple months. I'm excited to see her grow and learn. Totally unprompted she counted to five this morning. Prior to that the highest I've heard her count was two. And that was after I started with one:)
H gave a little bottle last night and babe took it but he said he was mostly just letting some fall out of his mouth and not really closing the seal and sucking. Any ideas? It's a 0 flow Medela so I know it's slow.
hikingmama222 I feel ya on the toddler. Mine is super whiny. I'm attempting to put him down for a nap now because he's over tired and I can't even deal.
adouces06 I had the same thing happen with a work friend leaving. I'm so sad to know he won't be there when I get back
We have failed at giving DS2 bottles. Since my MIL is supposed to watch him next week, I need to push them this weekend. Not to mention daycare in less than 4 weeks...
Hey all. I've been in LTing and such, but haven't been able to post. I've had either one of both of my kids on my lap all morning. They're both down for naps now so, win! In between snuggling kids I'm trying to get some cleaning done. + whatever to needing a housekeeper on the reg. I've resisted for a long time, but I think I may finally given in. DNW to be spending our family time cleaning. We're officially under a Winter Weather Advisory from midnight tonight until 4p on Friday, with the potential for...basically no one knows how much snow. It's lake effect so it varies. We're right on the cusp of 4-6 and 6-8 as their best guess. I really hope it's on the lower side...I have things I need to do out and about tomorrow while DS1 is at daycare!
DS2 slept from 9:30p to 3:30a, then back to bed until 7a!! Unfortunately, we went to bed close to 11p, so we didn't get as much sleep as we should have. I'm still pumped though.
Currently, DS1 is refusing a nap, so that's awesome.
Cute kiddos! I'll try to post a pic on Tapa later. I'm actually on my laptop right now, which is super rare.
erien22846, were you there when your baby got the bottle?
becole I bet he will figure it out when he needs to... Or maybe a bottle with a wider based nipple? The medela ones are pretty long and thin, right?
No. I walked in the room at the end and witnessed it though. Maybe the flow was too fast? He struggled to get suck and swallow figured out. It just kept running out of his mouth. He never figured out how to latch onto the bottle nipple. The fact he wouldn't swallow also makes me wonder if it wasn't warm enough.
I'm having a hard time getting here before naptime, if at all. And i dont feel like i have much good to contribute. Same old same old of toddler and newborn all day every day. Struggling with anxiety and depression. I want to enjoy this and be a great mom, but it is so damn hard. I can't let go of perfectionism. I can't fit in everything I want to fit in in a day. Losing patience with the toddler. Not snuggling the newborn enough. Messy house literally makes me unhinged. Guilt, guilt, guilt.
sanibel21 hugs. I'm the same way with the house. Keeping the house neat and organized is my way of controlling at least one aspect of my life, since the rest seems to be at the discretion of others. Le sigh.
DS2 has been napping for like 3.5 hours now. I think he's stirring up there now, but dang kid. DS1 napped for maybe an hour. I miss the 2 hour naps on his part. It's my only downtime during the day.

Hugs to those of you struggling. Also wish I had more time to spend on making my house neat. Not that it was all the time before baby but the new level of clutter is grating.
DS gave us two four hour shifts last night which was awesome. Sadly my body was only more groggy for the extra sleep. Wanted to play catch up. He has been a bit hard to get down for naps today, lots of protesting and crying. I feel bad putting him down but I need to get some work in today eventually.
He is eight weeks old today. Got him an Otteroo for the tub, he seems to like it. Determined to make him a water baby.
