Good morning! We are going to get donuts and go swimming in a couple hours for a friend's little girl's birthday. I'm supposed to get 3 packages today, including S's AC. Speaking of ACs, yesterday S was getting brand and stood up on H's to play with the blinds. I turned around for 2 seconds (how these stories always go) and she fell off it backwards. Not sure if she was standing or sitting down when she fell. After a few minutes of the dramatics she was fine.
leahks77 how is Lu this morning? Did you get some sleep?

Morning! I was really confused why your daughter was getting an air conditioner and playing on another one when you have snow on the ground/in the forecast. I get it now. Sorry for the scare and I hope she's alright!
X slept better again last night, so hopefully we are out of whatever his issue was. Another mom with a baby X's age texted me that she was signing up for a water play/swim class with her son and invited us. So now we are signed up for that! It's right around his nap time, but once a week for a month probably isn't going to do too much damage. I think he'll love the water and especially the other kids.

Poop question. Do your babies poop in their sleep? DD is back to sleeping through the night (fortunately!). For the second morning in the row, she woke up with a dirty diaper, and she did the same during her afternoon nap yesterday. This is very unusual for her. The last time I remember her waking up with a diaper full of poop was probably in June.
I have no idea when she is doing this, and I hate that she may be rolling around in poop for up to ten hours. Should I go do a MOTN sniff test?

Yes occasionally to sleep poop. I've had 2 wake ups with poop this week.
I didn't have the best start to the morning with cat AND dog puke to clean plus spilling coffee all over. I need a massage. Can't wait til Ryan is in daycare for naps so I can book one.

Occasionally S will have some after a nap/in the morning. I would just suggest putting diaper cream on before sleep so it doesn't cause a rash.
swivelchair5 yes to waking up with poop. But from my experience it tends to happen as he's in that restless/waking up stage, so not sitting in it for long. Eta, I've heard when he does it on the monitor before. And agreed to the butt cream for any sleep times, just in case. It's never caused a problem for us as long as he's got cream on.
trtlcrzy she was okay this morning, but woke up from nap with a temp of 101 again. So no DC tomorrow She's an unhappy munchkin. I hope it blows through quickly! Thanks for checking on us
Today is DD's follow up appointment with the ENT. She's at daycare right now so I'll probably pick her up right after nap time. We'll probably make a decision about tubes then. I'm guessing that she will need them. My mom thinks that the doctor should have prescribed even more antibiotics until we found the right one. Her reasoning was that almost 30 years ago, my older sister had a bad ear infection and needed IV antibiotics.
DS is down for a morning nap. I was going to have one as well but I can't fall asleep. So maybe I'll watch This is Us.

Moms always use this reasoning. Everything in pregnancy or childrearing I do differently than my mom did, she always says "I did it X way, and you turned out fine." Well that's great Mom, but I think I will put the car seat facing backwards anyways. Just in case this 30 years of research is actually correct.
Morning! Our schools were 2 hours late today, so things are getting back to running and everyone is digging theirselves out. I made it to work this morning but just lots of office time today. A lot of towns right around us are still closed today. I don't think we got quite a foot of snow but a lot of surrounding areas close to us got way over a foot.
I went through (tried) the coffee shop drive thru this morning for a mocha and breakfast sandwich and they were closed. I wasn't impressed. So I ended up going through McD's out of desperation. Bleh. I haven't gone there in years.
I want to be done Christmas shopping. My checkbook hurts. But I still have some odds and ends left. 😩
BTDT moms, when does the "must put everything in my mouth" thing stop? Where is the light at the end of this very wet, slobbery tunnel?
This can really vary, because some kids continue to do it while teething, so if you end up with a late teether (me ✋🏻)...but generally mouthing toys should subside by 18 months.
DS was very oral and mouthed (not to the extent of our age infant) for quite awhile and was drooly longer than he should've been I thought.
Woohoo, DD's ears are all clear for now! We'll have another follow up in 2 months. But for now, no tubes. However, if she gets another ear infection, we'll go right to the ENT.
I also decided to start cutting back on pumping to 3x a day now. I go back to work in 6ish weeks and don't want to have to pump then. I doubt I'd have to, because I'm pretty sure I'll only have 4 hour shifts.
I'm annoyed. My dr's office left a voicemail Monday afternoon asking me to call them back (I assume they received my dating US report). I called in the morning both yesterday and today said I had received their message and to please call me back. Nothing. Usually they get back to me the same day.
I have to take DS in next week for the second part of his flu shot (same office) but I bring my mom to those appointments because I don't do needles and I don't want DS to pick up on my anxiety and get freaked out, but it makes it much more awkward to talk to reception then since I'm not announcing until after first tri.
Tomorrow my mom is coming to visit so I'll call again Friday.
Unrelated, DS is being super clingy and I have no idea if this pork I've got in the slow cooker will turn out nicely for dinner tonight

I hope they call you back this afternoon. I'd be super annoyed about that too.
The pool was fun, going to/from my car was freezing! Both girls took a nice long nap after we got home. Now we are watching Elf (probably a little bit inappropriate for H but oh well). I have no idea what we will have for dinner tonight.

On a positive parenting note, I had thought that watching C learn to talk was my favorite learning stage. I was wrong. Watching him learn to read and write is my favorite. His little brain is working so hard and he's always full of questions and I love it. It makes me proud to be a mama. ETA posted too soon because L kicked me, haha.
I'd give anything for poop right now. Even sleep poop.
I'm sorry your LO is backed up. Mine pooped in the bath and then tried to grab a piece before we got him out. I made MH do cleanup.
Gross! I hope they call you back. That's very annoying. X is going to bed at 6:30. Tomorrow morning me is already annoyed at present me. Transitioning to 2 naps is tough. If he takes the 3rd nap, he's not tired at bedtime, but without it, this last hour is brutal.

Speaking of babies getting older, little R doesn't seem so little anymore. All of a sudden he seems very toddler-ish, in looks and actions and all of it. All the feels.
