How do you stop your bed from scratching your hardwood floors? My bed has 4 posts and a center post under it for support. I don't want to scratch the floors in the new house. What should I use? Furniture pads? Area rug? Furniture grip pads?
Ever since T was born, I get pain in my abdomen after an intense workout. When I first went back to work after he was born it would happen sometimes. Now it's only with intense activity. Does this happen to anyone else?
smilesp, I get it sometimes if I overstretch my abdomen (like I need to reach a distance for something and I bend over or sideways to grab it) - it feels like a Charley Horse of the abdominal wall. It is so painful but only lasts like a minute or so. I think it is because my abdominal wall is fairly weak; I have diastasis recti so that may be part of it.
Is there anything you can give a toddler when they have a cold? DS' nose is running non-stop and I'm hoping there's something that can help dry it up.
A teaspoon of (preferably local) honey works wonders. Something about the good bacteria from the honey or something or other. Otherwise, humidifier and also a Vicks plug in. We have a Vicks thing that takes little pads & literally just plugs in like a night light.
Ooh, I'll have to go get one of those plug in things! Thanks!
Thanks, Ladies! I called the pedi and the nurse called me back and said to use something from Zarbee's or Hyland's. The pharmacist at Target recommended Zarbee's Cough Syrup + mucus. It seems to help a little. This is DS' first time being sick and it sucks.

I don't not want to sound like the crazy hippie homeopathic lady but I've been making elderberry syrup and it has helped tremendously! Google wellness mama elderberry syrup.
My ped said at the last appointment we could switch her now if we wanted. But I'm keeping her on whole. The research I've read is pretty convincing that it's actually better for everyone so that's all we have.

I've read this as well but I can't bring myself to drink 3.5%. I compromised with DH at 1% (I prefer skim, he likes 2%).
We will keep J on homogenized milk until he goes to school probably?

I grew up on skim and so switching to whole was a challenge at first. But now skim tastes like water. I'm not a huge milk drinker at all though so it's not a big thing. Like pre-baby we didn't regularly have it in the house.
DS has had a persistent cough for months now. We've seen the pedi multiple times and they just said it's from cold/virus (no other symptoms)
It's mostly at night and is causing all of us to lose sleep from waking when he goes into coughing fits.
We do cool mist humidifier at night, as well as essential oil on feet. When it's more bothersome or he goes in fits I do zarbees cough syrup and constant sips of water, as well as steam showers.
Has anyone else dealt with this and any suggestions on things to do that I might be missing?

@jlynnn7, at one point DS1 had a terrible cough at night due to post nasal drip. The pediatrician said we could give him children's Benadryl and it would help dry him up. It worked.
ETA: obviously, you should ask your LO's doctor before doing this.
The pedi had is switch DD at 2 to 2% but she's tiny! My girls are only 7 lbs apart! I'll be thrilled when we can stop buying 3 kinds of milk! DH skim, DD 2% and lo whole

With DD she had rsv/pneumonia when she was 7 months old and we had to do breathing treatments with a nebulizer. I do recall her pedi prescribing Albuteral when she had a bad cough with some wheezing. Is he wheezing at all?

No wheezing, no other symptoms - just a dry non productive cough. It's frustrating for all of us...just wish there was a solution! We have an ear recheck next week (just got over ear infection) so I'm going to bring the cough up again...
Menstrual Cycle question Backstory: pre-preg when I was off BC my periods were all over the place. never consistent from month to month over 2 years. I did acupuncture to help regulate my cycles to get pregnant. Now: ever since I got my period back after stopping Bfing in May, they have been rather "normal"... as in 28-32 days. However, this month I haven't gotten it yet (already peed on a stick - negative!) but I kinda was thinking this month would be off because I think I ovulated very late. Anyone have experience with weird cycles post partum similar to this? I was getting really excited that finally my cycles were normal and now... I am starting to get worried that they are going to be cray cray again which will make TTC next year hell (again!).
mlbrooks my cycles have always been on time but I have noticed since having M I tend to ovulate later than mid cycle. Lately it seems like I'm ovulating right* before my period starts. Good luck on TTC!
We are looking at having dd's big girl room done by March. Any suggestions on places to buy dressers, etc? I'm looking at Ikea and that prices seem decent. I want to get the most bang for my buck.
thirdtimemomma, thanks! I don't belong to Costco, but I'm sure I could find someone. I'm not sure where a Pottery Barn is around me. I'll have to look.

We have an IKEA dresser in M's room and I love it and it's holding up great.
