Major MOTN blowout tonight. So far I have been able to get most stains out but this is the worst yet. And since he struggled while trying to get the footies off him to chance the diaper, it smeared all over his outfit. It was so green the faded stain looks like a pale highlighter. And these were my fave footies on him.
Any tips? I got it out of the changing liner fine, but there was significantly less of it on the liner. Most of the poo went up and out the diaper... sigh.
I'm pretty lazy about stains but I've seen a concoction involving dawn dish soap that allegedly works well--I'll try to find a link. I've also heard that drying in the sun works, but not sure how much non-freezing sun you will get this week.
I soak clothes in washing soda and detergent to remove stains. Works great on set in spit up stains too, even after the clothes have been in storage for two years.
Not sure what to do once you've already washed it, but I use the Dreft stain remover spray and it literally takes out anything. I started using it with my son, and now I use it at my primary stain remover spray. Works like a charm (and doesn't cost an arm and a leg like the dreft detergent).
*shrugs* I soak in cold water and spray in Shout before washing. If it's not a bad stain, I'll just spray Shout on and throw in the laundry room and wash whenever I do laundry next. Seems to work for toddler food and grass stains. Pretty sure that's what I did when DS1 was blowing out daily as an infant too.
Actually, this weekend, I did that exact thing with tomato sauce on a cream colored shirt. Came out no problem.
A friend of mine put me on the draft stain remover and it is seriously a miracle worker! B has had quite a few blowouts on himself and me and all his clothes still look like new! I just make sure to rinse the item out in hot water right away, spray with draft let it sit a few mins, rub and rinse, the throw in the next load of laundry. Works every time!
Am I the only one not bothered by stains? Having a reflux baby made me blasé about stains. Since DS was formula fed he never blew out his diapers. DD has had the occasional one and I just can't be bothered to care about the stains. I spray all the baby's laundry with shout, throw some oxy in the wash and away I go.
