Somebody brought a box of scones into the office. Everyone else is cutting them in half (or thirds!) and sharing so there were enough that I could have two. I'm hungry and have not had time to go major grocery shopping for a while so there was no food for breakfast in my house.
Today is the holiday party at my old office and I said I'd come with the baby. We've got a windchill below zero today. Idk how to do this with a baby. I guess I get to test out that new carrier I got (we'll have to walk from parking). I think I'm just going to tuck him inside my coat as much as possible (with him bundled) and then wrap a blanket around us. I'll look like a total weirdo but whatever. It shall be fun anyway, and I haven't seen them all in a while.
Morning! MIL is coming to pick up H in about 45 mins. She will be gone until 12/12:30 probably. During that time I have to meet up with a girl that wants to buy my boba. I hope she buys it so my DH doesn't get (as) mad about the Tula he doesn't know I bought yet. Other than that no plans today.

This made me laugh a lot. Hope it works out!
He knows I wanted to replace it...I was just supposed to wait until after I sold this one...but Black Friday.
Rough night here. I spent most of the night in DD's room. It was the only way she'd sleep longer than an hour at a time, and even then, she still periodically woke up to scream about her mouth hurting. Poor girl. But this morning she actually willingly brushed her teeth and asked for cereal to eat, so maybe we're turning a corner? I have no idea.
DS slept like a champ last night though. He woke up at 6ish for a bottle, then went back down at 6:30 until 9:30.
It's snowing again here, so I'll likely have to go out and shovel at some point.
swim I'm sorry for the bad night with the sick babe. I only have HFM experience with a 5-month old but when she finally stopped screaming when she ate was when she started getting better, so hopefully your girl is on the mend.

When we went to see Santa, I turned down the package "deal" that was $38 for one printed picture with access to the digital files of all the other pictures they took. I just wanted one for the sake of having it, not to spend a ton doing it. Last night, I got an email from the photographer company with an offer to buy more overpriced print online, so I clicked it and realize I could screenshot all of the other images they tried to sell me- which made me happy enough. THEN I opened it on my computer and I can actually download high res images of all of them, plus I could even download the image release letter.
Something clearly went wrong somewhere, but I'm calling it a Christmas miracle.
He's doing ok. He caught a virus so that's a bummer. My sister said minimum he would be hospitalized for 4 more weeks, but I have a feeling it's going to be longer than that. My dad and step mom were staying with my niece and nephew but now they are headed back to AZ so my sister has to decide what to do. My sisters and I keep suggesting she bring them here, transfer my niece to a school her temporarily, so that they can be with her. Who knows what she will do though.

I have my office's holiday party in a little bit. I'm excited because yummy food and free wine. I'm not excited because awkward small talk with coworkers. I will say, it has gotten much easier since having a baby because everyone wants to hear how she is doing. But then I fear I'm becoming that mom who has nothing to talk about other than her kids. At least it's an easy go-to awkward silence filler.

I had my work holiday party today too. Apparently last year while very pregnant I complained a lot about not being able to have wine, because today everyone kept saying they were glad I had a drink in hand.
DS didn't want to go down at all last night so I brought ugly him to bed with me when I went to bed (he'd been fighting sleeping in his crib for 2 hours) and we co-slept, so his fussing woke me up throughout the night (though he only woke up fully to nurse around 3:30am) and then we had to be up at 6 today
He'll still sleep in the car so he got an alright nap that way so he's happy at the moment. Mentioned to the dr that he only sleeps when held and she had nothing to say, but at least he got his second flu shot.
My mom is coming to visit tomorrow so if tonight sucks I can probably nap
Work tonight... blah. I had such a tough week last week that I'm super anxious about going in tonight. Ugh. Need to just get it over with. After getting her second flu shot this morning, we spent 2 hours at the library. It was story time, then just playing and reading and puzzles. C is OBSESSED with puzzles. And Lu was happy as could be to just crawl around and watch the big kids. She's pretty darn easy to take places still. I will miss this when she becomes a toddling terror...
How far apart do you space dinner (solids) and bedtime?
Not really at all. After we're home from work/school it's a quick nursing session, dinner as soon as can be thrown together, sometimes a bath depending on how messy dinner was, and then straight to bed. On an ideal day, she'll be asleep within half an hour of dinner.
It "feels like" -31 out. Ugh, I know this is winter but usually we get these temps in Jan/Feb. Looks like we will get back into the 20's a bit next week, and after this past week that will feel very warm!!
I have a list of about a million things that need to get done over the next week. I'm tired just thinking about it.
Also, I had told H that I wanted a new down comforter and duvet for Christmas. I even picked them out and sent him the link. He told me he had another idea for me instead. I talked him into buying it for me anyway, so that was exciting. Except he ordered the comforter and not the duvet. And now the duvet I want is not available in the size we need. Bummed. I'm not crazy about the others available but feel like I need to settle on one just to get one for now.
Guys. We are out on date night. We talked about our kid, H's job, childbirth, and our grandparents dying eventually. We totally know how to date night. Eta. Also. We are now at the grocery store. Hahahaha

It's hard to leave the house and not talk about the child the whole time. The struggle is seriously real.
