I know we've talked about this before, but DS is going through a killer sleep regression now and I don't know what to do. We put him down for naps or bedtime and he just cries! He was such an amazing sleeper so we are at a loss of what to do.
We tried letting him cry it out a little last night but he was crying so hard and getting himself so worked up that we had to go get him after about five or ten minutes. A friend of mine said she let her son cry for like an hour at this age and I don't know if I could do that.
Is anyone else dealing with a regression? What are your doing? Any sleep training tips?
We didn't sleep train DS1 until he was a year, but we did intervals starting at 5 minutes, then 6, 7, etc. The first night he fell asleep in the 8 min interval, the next night in the 6 interval, and the 3rd night started sleeping on his own.
I am not a huge fan of sleep training, but with DS1 it made a huge difference and felt necessary. We won't sleep train M until he is a year or older. I rock him to sleep for naps and bedtime and I really like that time between us.
**Absolutely no judgement towards anyone who sleep trains. You've got to do what's best for your family.
M was awake for 2 hours from 11-1 last night. He was talking and showing off his new skills (waving, pointing, clapping). Then he went to sleep and slept 6 hours! I'm hoping this is all part of the 8 month regression and he sleeps 6+ hr chunks when it's done.
Where did you guys find fleece pajamas? Our apartment gets a bit chilly. We only have heating units in each room and I don't leave them on unattended because it gets insanely hot.

Carter's!
I just checked and there are no Carter's in my neck of the woods. How is that possible? And I need to buy $50 to get free shipping. Gah! Maybe I'll ask my mom to bring some from IL when she comes next week. Those are a good deal and look cozy.

They run free shipping online every so often. My parents also get Carters fleece pjs for about $8 at Sams Club.
Thanks! I'll sign up for their emails so I know when that happens.
Target has "just one you by carter's" and has fleece pjs. If you have a red card shipping is aways free!
Nice, thank you! I usually never peruse clothes online there because I don't really know what I'm looking for. I love my red card free shipping but I seriously miss target store shopping.
R goes down awake. He is on a pretty consistent schedule and a great sleeper (knock on wood).
S on the other hand is a horrible sleeper and won't go down without me or DH at 22 months. We never did sleep training with him and I regret it now. I've been working on it since my break started but progress has been slow and torturous for all and it's breaking my heart.
ETA: not very helpful I know but if I had to do it again with S we would definitely start sleep training ASAP.
M acts like his crib is made of lava unless I rock him to sleep first. I'm just tired of it but really don't want to sleep train yet. His night time sleep has been great lately, but naps are a fight. I'm conflicted.
Ok, talk to me about CIO. I know I'm constantly complaining about sleep issues, and I apologize. H loves sleep and we haven't had to go through this before. M just hates sleep, nights and nap. I've tried CIO in intervals but he just never cries himself to sleep and then resists the rest of the day. How long would you let him cry? 2 days ago he only took 1 nap and then was awake until 10pm! He sleeps great once he's down, but DH seems to be the only one who he will sleep for and he's gone a lot. Help!
ETA: He's been alone in his crib for 15 minutes. He alternates crying a couple minutes then babbling/laughing.
