Good luck today kellybenelly83! I'm sick and it SUCKS. I haven't had a cold like this since L was born. I have all the sympathies for all of you who have dealt with lots of illness. Parenting when you want to curl up and cry is miserable.

Sorry you are sick. Feel better soon!
Thank you! I'm more just bummed because I had already taken tonight off so I could have tomorrow to do Christmas stuff while the kids were in school. And now, I'm probably spending it sick. That's what I get for taking a day off!
My house is a mess. The in laws come on Friday. And we still have Christmas stuff to finish up. My goal is to focus on one room a day this week to get things all tidied and cleaned up and then I'll do an extra quick wipe down of bathroom and kitchen, vacuum Friday morning before they get here. I'm giving my H a list of presents we still need to buy so he can get things on his way home. (His vehicle has a flat tire anyway and won't get fixed until Wednesday, so I'm stuck at home.) Ahh, so much.
I was able to take DD to daycare this morning. So I'm looking forward to a late morning nap when DS goes for his.
DD was up at 2:30, 3:30 and 4. Always getting up as I was drifting off to sleep. Luckily no mention of ghosts this time.
And my car window got disconnected from the track again. It's my fault for trying to open it when it was still frozen. I'll probably get it fixed in the new year lol I've been to the service center twice in the last week and a half.

Oh no! I hope you feel better. I suggest tea, blankets, and lil baby bum
Morning ladies! We put a cat door in the door that goes to the basement but the cat can't seem to figure it out. His food is now in the basement but he woke me up meowing.

I'm basically counting down the days to Friday.
Haha my cats don't do well with change. I hope yours sorts it out soon!

My child is nuts today. He's so tired and won't sleep. He's literally BOUNCING off of things. I'm watching him jump around right now in his crib. Woof.

Right there with you. The only way I can get him to nap lately is let him babble/fuss in the crib for a while until he gets cranky and overtired, then rock him fully to sleep (which takes about ten minutes these days) and gently put him back down. It's like a 45 min + ordeal.

This was what we did 3 times before he finally fell asleep and stayed asleep this morning (into afternoon). I added motrin the last time. He's cutting a tooth that's about 80% through. He wasn't grumpy, but I figured maybe that was contributing to his inability to stay asleep. Who knows. I don't ask questions when he finally sleeps, I just say thanks.
We are officially in that horrible in between stage where 12m clothes are getting too small (half are already in storage) but the 18m are mostly too big. I'm just going to dress him in a paper bag for christmas. Is this acceptable as long as I put a bow on his head?

We have this problem too. Why doesn't anyone make 15 month clothes? Her pants are rolled up 2 or 3 times today.

Yay for the good interview Kelly!
My mom came over to watch DS so I made ornaments with his hand and foot prints (going to grandma and great grandma) and got my wrappings done. Unfortunately my shopping and baking isn't done yet though

12 month sleepers don't fit on him but his feet don't reach the bottom of his 18m footed sleepers, I agree we need 15m sizes.
Hey guys! Busy day so far. I was up bright and early because we had people come deliver drywall for the basement. I was planning to go to the IL's house at that point so that the girls would be out of the way but the installer was not there yet. By the time he arrived S was napping so I was going to go after she woke, but then H started lunch before S woke and we didn't end up getting to IL's house until 1:30. Both girls fell asleep in the car on the way over and instead of just sitting in the car and letting them sleep I made the terrible mistake of trying to carry them in and have them nap inside. No naps for anyone! We are hanging out here until about 4:30 and then we will head home.
Sorry about the car issue swim, I hope it gets fixed soon and doesn't cost too much. Fx for more sleep tonight.
Re clothing sizes: some brands run smaller than others so you may have to experiment with that. Old navy/gap tend to me more short and boxy in my experience.
My kids took a 2 hour synchronized nap today. What is this and can it happen daily? I should have rested but 2 hours of solo time... I finished holiday cards, swept and mopped, cleaned the kitchen, made chicken soup, and did 2 loads of laundry. Good thing is now I can just rest after bedtime

Apparently there's a case of head lice at DD's daycare. I did a careful inspection of her head when I brought her home. Luckily nothing. Let's hope it stays that way!

Omg. No. You have had enough. I'm sending all the lice free vibes your way! What's protocol on this one? Do you keep her home? Lice SKEEVE me out.

I'll have to look at the info booklet or ask the teachers. But I'm pretty sure she still goes. I really hope she doesn't get lice. Even the thought of it makes my head itch.
I hope you avoid lice swim. Turns out that if someone gets lice here they don't tell the class since it's not an infectious disease or something. That annoys me greatly and I hope it's not still that way when my kids get into school.
