Groceries done, baking finished, presents wrapped. Need to clean the house today and put together some cookie trays. My cousins are coming over to hang out with the boys while I get some things done. I'm hoping to take the dog for a nice walk and have a leisurely shower!
I am at work, but all finished with my work. I am basically killing time until I can go buy some Chipotle to take home for lunch. We celebrated Christmas last weekend, so this weekend will thankfully be much quieter. My parents bought J a play kitchen so I think we are planning to put that together, then ideally he will play with it all weekend long and be happy and entertained so thatI can lay on the couch.
Add me to the at work crew. Pumping now. I think I saw every hour on the clock between both boys. I need more coffee.
We have a half day, but I will still pump twice. My normal output (with pumping at 5am and 2x at work) is about 8 oz. so I'm always about an oz short. I'm hoping once we start solids I can convince B to only take 8 oz at DC.
My best friend is in the hospital being treated for pre term labor, she's got 12 weeks to go with her second pregnancy. I'm so frustrated because she started having contractions earlier on yesterday and I kept telling her she needed to call her doctor and she never did until all of a sudden they were coming every 3 minutes and she was rushing to the hospital...It sounds like they've finally gotten them to start slowing down with the mag drip, but we'll see. I'd obviously never say anything about it to her because I'm sure she's already having a lot of guilt over it, but I just don't understand why you wouldn't call in as soon as contractions started. Ugh.
mcktymck I'm glad they seem to be getting her contractions under control. Did she just think they were braxton hicks? Otherwise I don't understand why she wouldn't have went in right away!
melody330 sending all the coffee your way. I don't know how we're allowed to function on that little of sleep.
I'm going to try to start getting J on more of a schedule. We've been doing so much running around the past couple of weeks I think it's messing with her. She slept like crap last night but I'm blaming it on her teeth that are taking for freaking ever to come in.
Tomorrow morning we do our Christmas with the kids and then head to my parents for a day/night full of family and fun and sugared up children. I have so much to get done and pack today and I just don't want to do any of it. Packing for 3 kids is scary.
Also side note, should I be concerned J is not babbling yet? She's so quiet it's weird. She's got an appt next week and I'm going to ask the dr but just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? I thought by now she should be babbling more.

Hi Everyone,
Its been a super crazy December, and I am just catching up on this weeks posts today so don't mind me commenting and what not on old posts. Everyone in my family has been sick I have been sick for 2.5 weeks DS had pneumonia and DD and Ear infection and my husband has a cold. It finally feels like we are over the sickness hump...at least I am feeling better and DS is off of antibiotics.
It a short day for me at work and I am totally going home and cleaning my house as fast as I can before I pick the kids up from Daycare. It needs cleaned badly...I wasn't cleaning anything while sick. I have my presents wrapped but I didn't get any baking done...oh well there is always next year.

I'm officially off work until January 3rd! But I will wfh, mostly to make up for all the stuff I've missed lately due to childcare issues and my moms illness.
Getting a hair cut today (much needed!) and then will take the kids to visit my mom. It's looking like she'll be in the hospital for Christmas so that sucks.
Inlaws are coming for xmas day (after much drama about their plans). Not fun.
I'm excited for Christmas, though, because the toddler finally seems to get it a little bit. It will be fun!

You guys have school the day before Christmas Eve? Bummer. The kids here have been out since Tuesday or Wednesday.
I hope you get the Christmas gift of more sleep somehow. Is your big one up so much because he's sick or does he just require parental intervention for MOTN stuff?
Well.. I have a pile of clean laundry the size of my bed to fold/ hangup, I need to finish my mom's gift, clean my house- it's a hot mess, and I am procrastinating all of it. The good news is that H should be home in 5 hours- he can entertain the girls while I get everything done. Damn it, I just wanted to relax today.
katelou, I have been purging for a couple of weeks to try to make room for new stuff. It freaks me out how much we go go go for days and then there is SO MUCH STUFF and nowhere to put it. Hopefully the purge will help a little bit. I get rid of stuff all of the time though because I hate clutter.
glaze, re: babbling, my DS was not a talkative baby. He did for a couple of weeks but then stopped. It is worth mentioning at your appointment but I wouldn't stress too much.

I know! There's so much stuff it's stressful and anxiety-provoking. My girls are the first and only grandchildren on both sides, plus there just haven't been new babies on my side in 10+ years. My mom and MIL buy so much stuff, my brother and H's sister buy stuff, H's grandparents are still alive and they buy stuff, plus various cousins and aunts and godparents buy stuff because they don't have any other little kids to buy for. Our old house was 1000 SF and I used to get so upset just thinking about what to do with it all. Now we have more space, but it's still so much work to store it, organize it, etc. and now that DD1 is 4.5, she doesn't grow out of toys as fast so it's not as easy to purge babyish toys like it was when she was younger.
With the bigger house it feels less stressful, but now it just feels... excessive. No kids need this many toys! I've tried to explain that to people but I don't think anyone understands the sheer volume of what we get. I'Ve asked for experience gifts (zoo membership, movie gift cards etc) and some people will get those, but they still buy stuff too :/ I've also tried to ask for things that are practical but still fun (like cute matching rain coats and boots) but again, no one stops there
I feel bad complaining because I know other families don't have extended family who can afford gifts.

I'm not sure what she was thinking, when she first told me about them they were coming ten minutes apart so she should've called her doctor just based off that alone. She just told me that the contractions are back worse than before so they're bumping up the magnesium now...

Add me to the "so many toys!" club. I've probably dropped at least four boxes at the Salvation Army since November, and made $60 selling stuff online this past weekend.
My mom gave me money to buy the boys some presents, so I bought L some fleece jammies, new bottles, and a toy. She told me L's gift wasn't "fun enough". A) YOU asked ME to shop and pick out his gifts, B) He's five months old and has no clue about Christmas, and C) has everything from DS1 and needs nothing! Last year when I said she could pay for DS1's swimming lessons for Christmas, she told me no, she wanted him to unwrap something. Sigh.

Fx they can get them back under control.
Today was my last of work for two weeks. Currently enjoying a creamsicle and a beer watching the Habs game.
