W finally figured out gift opening this morning. She loves her toys and keeps running back and forth between them. Her favorite gift? The orange from her stocking, haha

Merry Christmas guys! G gives zero fucks about Christmas gifts. She keeps playing with her old toys. She did color with her new crayons a little. And she played with her magma doodle a bit but other than that, it's been old toys all morning 🙄
Merry Christmas frands! We are just waking up here. M must be beat from all the excitement last night. We still have a couple hours of gift opening ahead of us.

Did she make it until midnight last night?!
They decided to do it at 11:30 🙄 she made it with being minimally cranky. However when she was placed in santas lap she started screaming. That was the end of it for her. She remained in either mine or MHs arms for the rest of the time we were there. However my nephew threw up everywhere and MH ran outside to do the same when he saw what his nephew did. Good times. She fell asleep in the car. We got home around 1:20 and she went right to bed and slept until 7:30.
elephantastic, W now has a fever (102.6) and is continuing to limp... when you asked about a fever last night, was it for a reason that needs immediate attention?
Merry Christmas, ladies!!! Hope you are all having a great day. We had a pretty good day yesterday, it is now Boxing Day here. We had rain on and off all afternoon and it is quite cool here (for summer). My mum is at my brother's and they are going through a heatwave so we definitely had t better weather.
The present bonanza is complete. My child sobbed by the end but she got some puzzles and clothes so some practical stuff. Also so much stuff to all of us to return or donate. Sigh. They mean well. Now I will spend her whole nap trying to undo whatever my MIL did to M's kindle fire while trying to set it up.

I would call a nurses line or take her to urgent care.

Obviously I'm not elephantastic, but a few weeks ago, DS randomly started limping. I was already taking him to the doctor for another reason, so I asked her about the limp. She told me to keep an eye on it and if it got worse and/or started with a fever to take him to the ER. I don't want to alarm you and I'm not sure of the reasoning behind that. I hope W is ok!
W is now up to 104.7 with motrin and Tylenol. I called the nurse's line waiting to call back.
My pharmacist know it all BIL says she's fine. Shut it assholes, my child is sick.
Hey sorry for the delayed response. I would take her somewhere. It's not common but they can get infections in a joint which could cause the limping and it can be serious. It could also just be a coincidence (an easy injury + a virus) but like I said earlier- in a child this age, all the sudden limping/not walking can mean a significant injury or issue.

We're waiting for a call back from a Dr, but the NP said she thinks we should go to the ER.
W has perked up a bit, and her fever is down to 101. I still feel like we should go in.

I would take her in. I know it's Christmas but I would go. I feel the need to point out that I don't suggest the ER lightly because I think it's grossly overused but this tingles my spidey senses (even before the fever it did). FX it's nothing.
Merry christmas everyone! We're finally home relaxing. We all got some great gifts from my family! I don't think we have to return or exchange any of it haha. I'm exhausted and so full from a delicious dinner. Hope you all had a great holiday!!
Oh no linny12! Keep us posted on W. I'm glad her fever has come down and she's perked up a bit, but I agree with elephant. I would probably take her in. I hope it all turns out to be nothing!!
We had a great day and DS got a ton of stuff. DH surprised me with diamond earrings that I have been wanting. We ate lots of good food that I didn't have to cook.

Oh my god all the toys. There are toys and toys and more toys. Oh and clothes. We have enough clothes and toys to last us a lifetime it feels like. I made my SIL cry. In a good way. Her kindle died. She uses it to read on her break at work. She has had a rough year and couldn't afford a new one. I bought her a kindle fire for Christmas. It wasn't expensive and was the cheapest one they make but she loved it. She cried.
DH and his brothers and his brother's fiancé and I are hanging out in the family room while MIL and her husband open gifts with his kids and their SO's in the living room. Aw, the awkwardness of recently blended families. I'm sad because M had to start saying her goodbyes tonight though. Fuck living far away.

I hated living far from my family. I hope you're able to move back soon (this was the plan, no?)

Thanks. Yeah, DH had a Skype interview before the holidays that went well but hasn't heard anything back yet so it doesn't really feel any closer.

We went through that process and it was the worst. Interviews, waiting, more interviews, then a scramble to get moved in and ready to work!
DH didn't hear back from places for like a week while interviewing. I would be patient due to the holidays and if he's in government, they move so damn slow!!!!

Fingers crossed for you!
The waiting and not knowing totally sucks. That's pretty much what DH said, that once something happens it's going to be a mad scramble to get our house sold and everything will happen fast. Just in the meantime saying goodbye and not knowing the next time M will see her grandparents hurts. Thank you though I really appreciate it.
