DH and I just went to Babies R Us to look around so DH could start to understand what we will need. He wasn't too overwhelmed and pretty into some of it which was good to see. We probably won't actually start registering for another month.
We have two days of Christmas down, three more to go. My extended family from out of province is arriving today and will be staying until tomorrow. Our tradition my whole life has been to go there, and I am so excited to not be travelling this year. Also, my birthday is tomorrow and I'll actually be home for it for the first year since I was born. DH wanted to take me out for supper on my birthday to celebrate, but I don't think it will work with our family plans. I'm fine with it, I'm used to prolonging the celebration into January 😊.
Inlaws are still visiting. I am sooo ready to have my house back and get it in order from all the Christmas chaos.
DD's face is healing better and quicker than I thought it would, so that's a relief. And the inlaws are going to take the dog that bit her to live with them.

I've been siting on the couch all day long. The past 2 days tuckered me out.
Now that Christmas is over Ive started to think more about moving DS to his new room. Like actually clearing out the crap and choosing a paint color. Of course MIL told me we should keep DS in his current room. Now I'm more motivated to move him! Because she must actually think her unwanted opinion matters to me.
I'm glad the healing is going well and that you were able to come up with a good solution for the dog bewise.
DH and I both had the day off today, which is rare. We spent the first half of it not doing anything really in particular, and then DH took DD to my IL's to visit while I stayed home and got some housework caught up on. We already had Christmas with them on Saturday so I don't feel bad sitting this one out.

We are at IL's and last night I told DH I could go for an apple cider donut. This morning there were apple cider donuts! My FIL bought them but he wasn't in the house when I told DH I wanted them so no way he knew. This also happened with Boston Cream donuts over the summer while we were vacationing with them and again he couldn't have heard me. Weird but I'm so happy!

DS and I are both sick, and we'll be flying in a couple days so I'm desperately hoping that it passes before then. Otherwise it'll be hours of screaming miserable toddler for me. Also, there's no breakfast food in the house and I'm super hungry. But it looks like the weather will finally be nicer today, so hopefully we'll be able to get DS out to the park to play and burn off some energy!
We're waiting to take off to fly from Maryland back to San Diego. We had a great visit and saw all the family and friends we wanted to. It was nice since we probably won't make a holiday cross country trip again for a few years, since it will be more difficult to travel that far with three little kids.
The next few days I'm planning to potty train DS. We're switching to underwear cold turkey and just won't leave the house for a few days. The kids don't return to school until Tuesday so now is the time to do it. He'll be three in less than a month, so I know he's ready. Diapers are just so much easier. Wish us luck! 😳
starsandshamrocks123 i was totally worn out yesterday too. spent a ton of time on the couch and whining about being tired, haha.
we got the Verifi testing done. we did Panorama with DD - i'm seeing a different dr now and their office just does a different one. i paid nothing for panorama, it was covered. this time, insurance (has not changed since i was pregnant with DD) was billed $12,500 and $7500 by the lab that does Verifi. Isn't that insane?! our part is only $1100 so it's not the end of the world, but whoa!
Fx everything goes well sdlaura! We're slowly working on potty training DD and I know things could be going more quickly, but I'm being lazy because of the ease of diapers.
Yikes agm04, that's a big chunk of change! I'm glad you don't have to pay the whole thing.
kaimee27 seriously! now i feel dumb for not calling my insurance company ahead of time. i figured it would be the same as with DD, but that was stupid.
agm04, I would be really annoyed that my doctor didn't check that the testing would be covered. My OB's office verified that insurance covered it before ordering it. Did insurance not cover the whole thing because you're not advanced maternal age?

teachermomtobe Maybe there's a vent that your FIL listens through? 😋
sdlaura I would like to finish potty training DD this week too. She will be 3 in March. She poops on the toilet, and she pees there when she feels like it. She needs a push to finish the process!
agm04 That's a lot of money! I haven't seen the EOB for my test yet. I'll be interested to see what it ends up being.

For me, my Christmas present was a catheter. I've had it in since Sunday morning, and I'm so over it. It's uncomfortable to do anything except sit still, so I can't chase after DD and my house is a mess. DH is sort of being helpful, but he's grumbling a lot. I'm waiting at the OB now to see if it can come out or if I have to leave it in for awhile longer. Come on uterus, move up and let me pee!
sdlaura i'm seeing a MFM dr by choice, so he is probably used to it being covered due to whatever the patient is seeing him for. i actually will be over 35 when the baby is born, and i think that does qualify me as AMA. even if we have to pay the $1100, it'll be fine...it's just surprising!
pinecone21 if you don't mind letting me know when you find out i'd be interested! i'm so sorry you have a catheter. must be awful! my sister had issues peeing with her second pregnancy and it sounded so uncomfortable!

agm04 The OB decided to leave the catheter in until next week. He said he wants to give my bladder a break from being so stretched out. He can't believe the ER sent me home without a catheter after the 2nd time. At least I'm off work this week, but it's still not going to be easy. I don't know how people wear catheters for months on end.
agm04, especially because you will be 35, I would definitely fight the bill. It's amazing how many incorrect bills I get from our medical group for me or the kids, but I'm usually able to get them figured out after annoyingly long phone calls. Even if the money is not a big issue, there are plenty of things I'd rather do with $1100! Good luck.
teachermomtobe - H is off work unexpectedly tomorrow, and I am too, so I think I'm going to take him to Buy Buy Baby and start really looking at gear. I've started a list of strollers and we also want a cosleeper. I think it's time to start playing with things in person. I hope he takes it as well as your H!
lotsoflotts - Hope you and your son feel better soon!
sdlaura - Good luck with potty training! Hope it goes smoothly.
agm04 - Wow, that's expensive! I hope they knock it down even further.
pinecone21 - Sorry you're stuck with the catheter. Hope it can come out soon!
Hey ladies! I hope the holidays were good to you. I've started feeling some movement here and there. Anatomy scan is January 12th and I am started to get excited!

I am so jealous and can't wait to feel movement! Hopefully I know it when I feel it!!!
