Hey ladies! I hope the holidays were good to you. I've started feeling some movement here and there. Anatomy scan is January 12th and I am started to get excited!
I am so jealous and can't wait to feel movement! Hopefully I know it when I feel it!!!
I remember I felt it earlier with dd and thought there was no way that's what I was feeling. It will happen soon for you
honda13, I've recently started feeling some flutters too! I'm jealous of how early your anatomy scan is (if I remember correctly, I think we're both due on the 10th?). My practice likes to schedule it at 20 weeks at the earliest, so mine isn't until the 27th.

Yes! They kept changing my due date back and forth from the 9th to the 10th. My ob does them anytime after 18 weeks. This pregnancy is going by quicker than with dd. Do you feel that way too?

My doctors only change the due date if the measurements are estimating a week or more difference! I think it's so interesting how different places work.

So far I think all the movement I've felt is gas. Last time, I don't think I felt anything for sure until about 22 weeks. So for some of us, it will be awhile yet! I'm jealous of those early moving babies.
Day 1 of potty training went ok. 6 accidents, and more times than that on the potty. He didn't have an accident during nap, which was good. We ceremonially threw out the diapers together this morning and that was good since he's asked for them back twice and I reminded him that they were gone. He ran around most of the day in a Christmas Pj top, Spider-Man underwear, and the cowboy boots the in-laws gave him for Christmas.
Why can't he just magically be potty trained?? DD's daycare basically did it for her. We'll see how he does tomorrow since DH is home with the kids while I work.
sdlaura sounds like a pretty successful day overall. the thought of potty training seriously gives me hives. just like the thought of taking DD's pacifier away at naps/night time. Eek.
agm04 he still has the pacifier at night and I'm not tackling that one yet. His dentist doesn't seem terribly concerned so we will deal with that next .
sdlaura i'm probably crazy for thinking maybe she'll give it up on her own one day, haha! i don't blame you one bit. one thing at a time. they all go to college potty trained and without pacifiers.
I'm working on the menu for our NYE game night. Thinking a bunch of finger foods since they usually go over well (and we've done it for NYE before) but we're starting at 6, so do I need a true entree?

We just decided to do a taco/nacho bar NYE. Also, my Taco Bell did not disappoint. OMG so good!
marshian, I wouldn't expect an entree at a NYE party. But I would plan on having some pretty filling appetizers.....wings, meatballs, little sandwiches

marshian, Just saw the NYE question. If you have plenty of apps I wouldn't expect a meal. I'd just plan to keep the apps coming all night. And maybe if anyone you know would care let them know ahead of time. My friend is hosting and we are having a meal but not until 9pm and she told me so my pregnant self could plan to eat accordingly (there will be apps too)

We are just doing a bunch of apps, no entrée. It's one of the reasons NYE is my favorite holiday. I love love love apps for dinner, but I can only justify it on NYE and Super Bowl Sunday. So much excite.
I don't care for rum cake, but if I did, I'd still eat a bit as pregnant lady. I don't think it's a big deal. Not every day, and not the whole cake, but I can't see it hurting anything. I'm not super paranoid about food.

Rum cake is fine. The alcohol bakes out. I'm making a beef stew for dinner that has 2 cups of red wine in it. I can still taste the wine at the end, but there isn't any alcohol left.

That's actually not entirely true, some of the alcohol content is gone but there is still an alcohol content. Boiling removes more than baking. That being said I'd totally eat the rum cake, and I still use red wine in my roasts

I called the dr today because I've had some light something all week...idk if i'd call it spotting (TMI warning), but definitely some type of light bleeding going on, because it's like pink discharge. With some cramping here and there that I wouldn't think much about if not for the spotting or whatever. Since we're headed into a long weekend I called just to be on the safe side. The nurse said to take it very easy this weekend, drink tons of water, and no sex. I have MIL scheduled to come over tomorrow so I can get some work done around the house, so the "take it easy" part is lame, and obviously the no sex is lame. Totally worth it of course - I'd rather be safe.

Just catching up. Jealous of everyone's fun plans for NYE... I never make it to midnight anymore. And we used to go to the bars on NYE... Now that we are out in the extreme suburbs seems all our friends with kids already have their respective "NYE friends". Lame. But we are recovering from a stomach bug in our house anyway... It's been a long week I guess you could say.
We are going to a birthday party for one of DS's daycare friends tomorrow. That should be fun but we don't know a ton of the parents well so it's always a little awkward. Plus haven't gotten her a gift yet. Oops.

huskermom I love the bed! How old is your LO? I'm nervous about making the move with my 2.5 year old but we are also switching his rooms too. Very nervous
