What is working well for you this week? Everything is going pretty well.
What are you struggling with this week? Stretching out her overnight feedings.
Questions/concerns? Just dreading having to start pumping.
Have you set or adjusted any feeding goals? Still aiming for a year. Still aiming for as little pumping as possible
GTKY: what is the best thing you gave and the best thing you received this holiday season? Best thing I gave was either the Melissa and Doug music set to DS or the Chronicles of Narnia book set to my nephew. Both look like they will get some heavy use! Favorite gift received was a $100 gift card to a scandanavian hot/cold bath place. If you've never been to one, you should.
Well: slowly starting to wean from the shield, more and more we aren't needing it. Also building up a very nice freezer stash!
Struggles: nothing at the moment
Questions/concerns: planning to introduce a bottle in the next day or two and test out a formula so that when I go back to work we have some type of backup since she won't be able to hang out on the boob all day long like she's used to now. Always concerned that this goes okay!
Goals: hoping to nurse till she's 1
GTKY: I was really excited to give my MIL a subscription to Hello Fresh. I'm jealous it wasn't gifted to myself. I told her I want pictures of all the fun meals she gets to make! I was also really excited to give my 6mo old nephew a learning cube because I was so close to putting 2 in he cart when I saw it. My brother opened it right away and he was playing with everything right away!
What is working well for you this week? Mostly everything. She now latches right away and without any struggle at all. We also successfully introduced a bottle this week and she did great with it!
What are you struggling with this week? She had typically been nursing one side at a time, for at least 12 minutes each time, but has started doing only like 7 minutes before she pulls off. If I let her take a 3-5 minute break, I can usually get her to latch back on and feed for like another 8-10 minutes. She doesn't always burp during her break, though I always try. Anyone else deal with this? What gives?
Questions/concerns? See above
Have you set or adjusted any feeding goals? Still planning to EBF for 1 year then continue after that as long as she wants. In the short term, I'm going to start adding a pumping session in the mornings so I can start building a freezer stash. Even though it's still over 3 months away, I'm concerned that my supply will take a dive when I go back to work because there will be days when I'm not able to pump as much as usual/necessary (e.g. days when I am stuck in a 10 hour deposition).
GTKY: what is the best thing you gave and the best thing you received this holiday season? My SIL and I teamed up to surprise MH and his brother with Super Lux tickets to see Star Wars this Friday. They were so excited! I love getting things for people that I know they really, really want. I got a lot of great stuff too. I'm pretty excited about the massage gift certificates H got for me!

How old is LO? 6.5 weeks
What is working well for you this week? Everything is going good nursing wise.
What are you struggling with this week? I would like to continue pumping in the mornings. I've slacked off and I'm not pumping every day anymore. I have a nice freezer stash going but I think I should store more. Who knows how pumping at work will go, so it would be nice to have a good frozen supply.
Questions/concerns? I've noticed O is spitting up more. He use to very rarely spit up. Now I noticed it's a couple times a day but it's not a large quantity.
Have you set or adjusted any feeding goals? 1) 3 mo 2) 6+ mo
GTKY: what is the best thing you gave and the best thing you received this holiday season? Honestly, I didn't give super thoughtful gifts this year. H's whole family basically got gift cards. Which I never do... But it's been a crazy adjustment with a newborn. Received - H got me a necklace with O's birth stone in it. I love it!
