What does everyone think of this name? I had to look up the pronunciation to which search results came up with "sounds like wave". As much as I love, love, love it on paper, I don't know if I love the sound of it.
Love it, but I'm a sucker for Irish/Gaelic names. My other faves at Bridget, Ciara (pronounced correctly), Deirdre, Fiadh, Moira, Mairead, Colleen, Saoirse, Roisin, and Eabha

I love it! I think it's a gorgeous name. There is also Maeva, which is a different entomology (French/Tahitian according to BTN) but has a similar appearance, if it is the appearance of the name you like.
I have a two year old Maeve Catherine. So obviously, I love the name. In addition to having a strong but feminine sound, the meaning is pretty cool too. Maeve was a warrior queen in Celtic mythology and it is often reported to mean "she who intoxicates."

I'm a misspelled Deirdre. My parents were given the wrong spelling by another family member. She has apologized to me numerous times.
I love Maeve. I think it's beautiful. I also love Saoirse but it's difficult for most people to pronounce.
