Sorry but there is no longer any sangria in the world. It has all been poured into this one glass.
Lol! Is YH trying to get you drunk or us he just making up for something?
I think he's sympathetic about the shitty night I had last night and the one I'm likely about to have.
Although little lady just passed out on me almost immediately once the lights went out and white noise on so maybe, just maybe, tonight will be one of her magical sleep nights. I really could use it, since my folks are in town tomorrow. 😩
I'm going to knock on wood as I type this, but C went down really easily at 9:30. The last few night, she's been sleeping well but bedtime itself has been a you-know-what. I'm hoping tonight we can put the breezy bedtime + long stretches of sleep together, but that is probably too much to ask.
FX for you LizInFL!! It's funny, we actually adjusted D's bedtime later tonight. She just hasn't shown any interest in sleeping between 8 and 11/11:30 these past few nights so instead of starting her bedtime routine around 7:30/8 like I normally do, I waited until 10:30. Now it's 11:20, she's sound asleep on me. and I'm about to try to put her down. I'm so nervous!
dashook Yep, definitely ditch the tea! Now I want some sangria... And I hope D stays asleep for you!
aggiebug Good to know about NY&Co, I don't think I've ever shopped there. I just ordered some new jeans from Loft and really like them; the jeggings in particular are amazing. I threw out my old pair today b/c I know these new ones will be my go-to.
tjanca22 My go-to shopping spots are Loft, Ann Taylor (although I shopped there more when I worked and needed dressy/business attire), Banana Republic and JCrew/JCrew Outlet. I tend to be pretty classic; every now and then I get an itch to try something kind of bohemian and loosey-goosey, and am quickly reminded that I look best in more tailored things
As far as finding your style goes, have you ever met with a personal shopper? I know a lot of dept. stores offer it as a complementary service (in hopes that you'll buy some things, of course). A friend of mine just did this at Nordstrom and loved it so much, she got her H to do it, too! I think Pinterest is also a great tool for this type of thing, it just takes more legwork. I like to use Pinterest to get ideas for outfits I can make with stuff in my closet, or by adding a piece or two.
goldenlove3, if you're not passed out right now I really hope you're watching the Orange Bowl!
Never mind 🙁
LOL yea we were at the bar and watched that whole mess. It was an exciting end but they blew it of course. My teams don't know how to finish up a season 😑

I hear ya. Washington is playing Alabama tomorrow and I'm sure that's going to be a disaster. Also the Seahawks are trying really hard to get the worst seating in the playoffs right now. As much as I love football I'll be happy when it's all over.

It's twenty to one. Baby has been asleep for 45 minutes at least and I'm wide awake. Why you ask? Because it's the first night in 8 weeks and change that she's asleep in something other than my arms. I can't not check her breathing every minute. Who knows how long it'll last, but I'm proud for making myself do this. I miss my little goober.
I'm talking as though I'm not even in the same house as her. She's three inches away in the dockatot. But still!
L is 4 weeks old today (Friday... I know I'm late) I can't believe he'll be 1 month on Monday!
Mom and I went out to eat with neighbors for the first time... I was nervous but L did real well! No one tried to be in his face or hold him so that was a relief! L slept through it which allowed me to eat dinner like an adult! But I'm afraid (as always) this will mess with his sleep tonight. (As I type this at 2am) We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow night (tonight) so I'm not looking forward to that! 😒
We'll be staying in for NYE, but can't wait till L's older to go to first night in Burlington! I loved it as a kid and took DH to it our first New Years after college. tallblonde, how difficult was the 529 to set up? tjanca22, I love the gap/old navy but I'm usually in business casual or jeans (swim coach) but NY&Co has a lot of great work clothes. My favorite wrap sweater is from there! I second Loft and sometimes I go to Ann Taylor but find myself more likely in Loft! waitwhat, my biggest problem with shopping is I seem to always go when I feel the worst about my weight. Right now, I'm technically in my pre-pregnancy jeans but the are uncomfortable at the inside incision area. But my maternity jeans are falling off me now!?! sophiegrace, I struggle too with putting L in the bassinet, he's barely 6" away but I know we both sleep better/longer when he's sleeping on me! Fx for a good nights sleep!
My heat is now working at normal capacity. I can now take off the hat, sweatshirt, socks, and extra blankets I was sleeping with!
sophiegrace very proud of your new advancement! Being awake as you worry about your child is much easier than being awake because your child is fine and just doesn't want to sleep. Enjoy your space as you periodically check the breathing
Our sleep is still erratic and I'm pretty sure she has mixed up her days and nights necause her daytime naps are long and sound. I am going to be doing some work to switch that around so I can get some rest!
dashook hope you enjoyed that sangria and are sleeping now!
jubilantsquirrel my H is the same as yours with picking up. Like, I feel like I can't get my house ever clean and organized bc all I'm doing is just maintaining his mess!
cheshie6 I already had a 529 setup for DS, so I just had to log into my acct and could create a new one for N. Last time MH had to pick up forms and then drop them off at the brokerage we use. Each state I imagine is different though? I think you can claim up to $2500 per year per account, which is why we did it before year end. I think this stuff is unnecessarily confusing, which is why MH does the research and I follow directions for this stuff.
+1 to NY&Co for tall work stuff. I used to have lots of tall suits from there when I had to wear them daily. A fraction of the cost of JCrew tall and fit me well. I haven't been in there in years though since I don't wear suits.
American eagle also has tall in store and XL online. I ordered 2 pairs of jeans there but returned them because the high waist was hitting right where my tummy is the worst, but was impressed with the length. H&M still consistently fits me the best, just is the most exhausting to shop at. It's my go to for event dresses, either they are way too short, or cut longer and fit well.
LOL yea we were at the bar and watched that whole mess. It was an exciting end but they blew it of course. My teams don't know how to finish up a season 😑
The *one* time I was rooting for Michigan and Jim Harbaugh...
As a Gator I can't stand FSU so I'll literally cheer for anyone else. I was really pleased to see Chief Osceola fall off the horse, though!
ETA: I also root for Michigan to beat Urban Meyer/OSU. I have lots of feels about Urban now.

I'm at a loss when it comes to sleep. The baby goes down around 11-11:30 and will sleep for 3-4 hours, but getting him back down is impossible. Tonight he went from 11-2 and now it's past 4:30 and we're still up. I just don't know what to do.

Thanks for the hair pats! She slept 12-3:30, ate for ten minutes, then 3:45-6:20 all in the dockatot!! She's sleeping on me now only because someone started goose hunting in the field next to our house at 6:30. Wtf dudes. It's Saturday! And by no stretch of anyone's imagination is our house far enough away to be hunting with a gun.

What do you do when he wakes up? I keep the room as dark as possible. Peek in his diaper and only change if needed. Feed in silence. Burp and reswaddle. Literally as quiet as possible and as little eye contact as possible (hard as that last part is).
I have a dim light on my nightstand that I use, but other than that I keep it dark. I only change his diaper if needed. We nurse and burp during and after. He spits up a lot so after he nurses I try to keep him upright for a bit, then I swaddle. Sometimes he's just awake the entire time and other times I'm able to get him to sleep but then he wakes back up after 10 minutes or so. We also have a fan going so we have white noise.
hangry so glad your heat came back! sophiegrace that sounds like a great night--go M! LizInFL it sounds like you and I have similar styles. Ann Taylor is my jam! J. Crew was moreso when I was slimmer; life goals include being able to look good in J. Crew again because I just love their clothes.
tallblonde I mentioned it up thread so you may have seen it, but I was really happy with the Loft jeans and jeggings I just got. Had to order them, but they're great. I got the Modern fit, fwiw.
dashook I've been happy to see JCrew returning to their roots the last couple seasons. I really liked their collection this winter. Lots of bright colors, updated basics, etc. There for awhile everything was just a bit much...like they were trying too hard to be too high fashion or something. No, I do not care to pay $500 for a sequined miniskirt made from the wool of some rare French goat.

Haha!! Good point; I know what you mean. I also love their more classic stuff.
sophiegrace Teach me your ways PLEEEASE. I'm still so nervous to let her sleep away from me. After she wakes at 4ish I do try to lay her next to me (instead of on me) so that I can transition but she doesn't always let me do it - last night being one of those nights that she had to go back to my chest/stomach. Alec was sleeping on H but has self-transitioned to laying flat on bed or (on an incline obv) in the RnP. Every now and then if his congestion is bothersome he'll want H to hold him or to sleep on H, but otherwise I'm less concerned about his transition - he loves laying flat and alone.
jubilantsquirrel A nut punch would be more effective IMO. But how funny that DS will kiss a nasty fish tank but not mommy lol.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't sleep AT ALL Friday night. I watched her breathing the entire time. I was so nervous, her weight on me might be as comforting to me at night as it is for her. For now she's in the dockatot in between H and I with my boppy pregnancy wedge under it to raise her up and bit. I swaddle her super loose with an A&A blanket so that she can still rub her her as she falls asleep (adorable). I wait a good 15 minutes after she's asleep to make sure it's for real and then I put her in the dock and slightly tighten the top layer of the swaddle. Since it didn't start tight and I can't rewrap with her sleeping I take an A&A burpy bib lay it across her chest and arms and tuck it in the sides between her and the dock so that her startle reflex doesn't wake her. She's really she's still waking up at her normal frequent (2-3 hrs) intervals, but as long as I put her down completely asleep and tuck her in she (so far) hasn't woken up unless hungry. I really think what I'm doing is only 10% of the equation though. I think she was just ready and not needing me every second because her reflux is finally improving and she feels better. Naps are still a toss up and she's still on me just about the entire days. FWIW I'm not sure which thread I read it in, but I also nurse her to sleep at night, during the day I just makes sure to wipe her gums down with a damp washcloth.
So much good in that response sophiegrace . Last night I swaddled Addy for the first time since she was about 2 weeks - she used to hate it which turns out I think I was just trying it while she was still hungry or needed to burp (not ready for sleep). I did it pretty loose and like you I tightened the top after she drifted off and I also added my magic womb noise video from YouTube. So I tried this while H and I were still up and downstairs on the couch with her right next to me - I let her hang out like this for about an hour and she did well but still kept waking up (but going back to sleep on her own). During that time the reflux didn't seem to be an issue from what I could tell. Ideally I'd like her next to me on an incline somehow until she's a little heavier. They have a pedi appt Friday and Alec is definitely up on weight to an average singleton at 2 months (I'm guessing 12ish lbs) but she's still SOOOOOO tiny, I'm guessing not even 8lbs.
