Hi hi!
A friend met me and N for coffee this morning which was lovely and so nice of her to drive an hour to visit. My high school bff is coming over in an hour to meet N and then happy hour with MH's friends with her later...All the social events today! We head home tomorrow, so gotta fit them in..
I got N's 529 setup last night, nothing like waiting until the last minute before year end! Was so weird seeing 2036 as the target year for college!

2036 doesn't even seem like a real year. Crazy!!
We've just been wasting the day away. It's already 2:30!! We're supposed to be going to the bar tonight so C will be going to grandma's. My dad and brothers are on a boys trip so my mom will be excited to have him to herself tonight.
I can't believe tomorrow is NYE already. I've never felt so unprepared and blah about it. It looks like we may be staying here and having a few friends over but one couple already said they're sick. If it's just going to be 4 of us here, we might as well go to the other friends house and hang out with everyone.
tallblonde, 2036?! That blows my mind just a bit! How's the dockatot working for you?
She likes it on an incline, but haven't used it too much yet. I'm going to try to get her to sleep in it instead of the RNP this week though once we are home. How about you?

Lol my thoughts exactly goldenlove3 about it not feeling like a real year. Have fun tonight!!
tallblonde not the miracle sleep device I was hoping for. I'm bringing it to bed tonight though and sticking it between H and I on an incline. I'm desperate for more than 45 minutes to an hour and she's too heavy for me now to fall asleep with while holding her. I hope you have good luck with it!!

M's follow up with the pediatric dermatologist is next Tuesday. They told me to call and cancel if her eczema gets better or goes away with the treatment they suggested. So I go to call and cancel just now since yes it's better and no I'm not driving an hour if I don't have to. They've been closed since 12/22 and the voicemail is full. They open on Tuesday, the day of her appt. Shit. I waited this long because I didn't want to cancel and have it come back because it takes forever to get in with them. But, I don't want to call the day of the appointment and say I'm not coming since someone could have taken that appointment. Boo being an adult.
How early in the day is her appointment sophiegrace? They still may get someone in on a cancellation list if you call first thing and just explain that their voicemail was full when you called initially.
It's at one, so I think I will try that. Or at least call and feel the receptionist out. No need to haul her all the way there to waste the doctor's time.

I know at our SLP's office, the receptionist sometimes comes in on a Sunday to check voicemail messages before the work-week starts. Obviously that doesn't help you since the voicemail is full, but maybe try again Monday to see if anyone came in over the weekend? Or yeah, just call day-of and explain that you tried
Hello! Today has been spent purging our closets, and we got rid of so much. Even DH got in on the act. I've been hanging onto a lot of old work clothes (suits, etc) that I haven't worn in over 3 years...I think it's safe to say if I do go back to work someday, styles will have changed and I'll have to buy new new things, lol. Next up, my dresser and DH's chest of drawers...
Tonight we're leaving B with a sitter and going out to dinner with my parents and sister. B looooves our sitter, so I thought he might enjoy having one-on-one time to play with her, and she won't have to worry about the baby. It will be nice to be able to enjoy a meal without refereeing/entertaining a 3 y.o!

LizInFL I think it's time I get a shirt that say 'I tried' on it. Should go well with my not welcome doormat! I'm excited for your purging, I can't wait until I'm able to attack some of the things that we've been accumulating!

I just emailed our newborn photographer to book M's 6 month photos and our yearly family pictures. I did it because she books up so quickly, but please tell me how this is all going so quickly?! It is hard. So damn hard, but she'll be SUCH a big girl by then and it's going to be here before I know it.
Also, cannot wait to see how long it takes to get a good picture of a 6 month old, five dogs, and a sleep deprived mom.
LizInFL I am slowly doing the purge as well. I have decided that there are some clothes in my closet that I just will not wear again. I've spent the last 4 years either pregnant or breastfeeding, which were reasons some items didn't get worn but also didn't get tossed (I would wear it again after I was done nursing etc).. But some stuff I wore in my early 20s really don't suit me anymore and I need to just let it go.
My last go around I finally got rid of my jean collection from high school. Shameful.
You can peel my cheerleading camp hoodie circa 8th grade off my dead body though.

I started purging my clothes a little bit when I packed up the maternity stuff and switched out my winter clothes. I need to do much more though because I feel like I only wear about 25% of what I own. I also need to go shopping and buy things that I'll actually wear.
I also can't wait to clean out every closet and cabinet in the house. That's one of my maternity leave goals.
I took the whole family jeans shopping today and it was shockingly easy. Both Gap and NY&Co has longs that are actually long IN STORE and on sale. It's a miracle. I also snagged a few things from Hannah Andersson at their super sale.

My H goes back to work tonight. He slept all day so I had O by myself for the first extended amount of time. (I wonder what it's like to sleep 10 hours in a row...) I got stir crazy so O and I went to Target. He slept, he's been sleeping sooo much! I think this might be the 6 week growth spurt. I'm scared to be by myself at night with O! It's the first time. I hope he sleeps good tonight!

This is me, 100%. I'm planning a very large and comprehensive shopping excursion circa 6 months PP because my body is different after 2 kids and I need to buy things that I will actually wear and feel good in.
Just catching up and LTing on the last few days. We were at my inlaws and I don't have an international data plan and the ILs are stingy with their wifi code. Srsly.
We made it home in one piece. Travel was relatively smooth too.
Now everyone is off schedule and routines and I can't wait to get back into one.
We first have to unpack all our stuff and find homes for things that we have no space for. This'll be fun.
Now we are just waiting for our house to get back to normal temperatures. We turned off our heat and it was 54deg when we got home. Something seems off with the furnace though, because it's taking forever and keeps turning off. FFS furnace, please dont die on us!
FX for a good night's sleep for both of you! cookswithwine9
aggiebug good to know Gap has longs in store, thanks for mentioning that! have to order all my pants for this reason.
Happy to share. I feel you. I actually prepared H that I wasn't getting any jeans today but I needed to go in and try them on to see how the fit before ordering the proper length so I was shocked and pleased to come home with them. The NY&Co bootcut were sooo comfy! I had never tried their jeans before and they are 35.5 inseam
cookswithwine9, H works overnight as well and that first night alone with DS was scary. It gets better!
I'm also purging my closet, but realized I have very little work clothes that fit me. I never know where to shop besides the normal stores for work clothes. I feel like I need to find my style first. What are your favorite stores to shop at? I need help!

Omfg. I'm about to throat punch MH. Whenever DS1 is doing something he shouldn't be (like climbing on the unopened sewing machine I got for Christmas) MH will just stand there and tell me what he's doing. So I'm nursing DS2 and MH and DS1 are in the other room and MH just keeps saying "he's climbing on the sewing machine." Over and over. So I tell him to move the damn thing and he gets all huffy like it's a huge inconvenience to move a box into the closet that it's sitting in front of. JFC, dude.
I'm also irritated with him because he's completely incapable of cleaning up after himself or putting things away where he got them from. He got home early today at 1pm, decided to make lunch and then went upstairs to take a nap. I go into the kitchen that I had just finished cleaning not 30 minutes before he got home and it's a ducking disaster. Not to mention he left his dirty dishes on the coffee table. Don't worry, I cleaned everything up while he took a 2 hour nap because apparently I'm his personal maid.

I kicked MH and DS1 out of the house so I could get some peace and quiet. They went to the pet store and apparently DS1 made a new friend.
MH also said that when they were looking at the fish DS1 started counting them, got to 10 and then gave the tank a loud kiss. Which hilarious because if I ask that kid for a kiss he just presents his cheek for me to kiss. So he'll kiss a fish tank but not his own mother.
