It's hard when the hubs have the mood. Especially when you don't get the expected break/help. I hope tomorrow is better. I vote vitamin D infused vacations for all!

dizzycooks, I totally get that. I also get in a funk when dh unexpectedly has to work longer or forgot to tell me about some meeting. Sometimes it lasts a couple of days as I'm in just sort of a frustrated, semi-angry, bitter mood. It's not pretty. The only thing that helps me is if I can somehow pep talk myself into an attitude change or if I get the time I was craving (usually just to work, but for me it work time is relaxing time!). I hope you can figure out how to get out of your funk soon!

Oh. My. Goodness.
So tired today. H and I stayed up until midnight. (MIDNIGHT! I didn't even stay up that late on NYE.) We were playing this board game I got him for Christmas called Ticket to Ride, drinking beers, and listening to music.
Right after I went to bed dd2 woke up and had a snotty, stuffy nose and couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned and snuffled all night, and was up for the day at 6.
Despite feeling less than stellar today, I think it was good for H and I to let loose a bit and have some fun together. Everything has seemed a bit of a grind lately, and it was nice to be reminded of why I liked the guy in the first place.
I can't believe we'll all have one year olds shortly. All the walking, talking, sleeping on cots, one nap a day business is crazy. This year flew by! E is down to one nap a day for the last 10 days but I'm still in denial. We're also working on night weaning because I was still feeding her twice a night up until this last week. We've also definitely hit some toddler tantrums. Sometimes it's such a struggle not to crack up at her!
H didn't get home until after midnight last night. I was expecting him to be very late, so I wasn't too surprised. It was after 1 by the time we got to bed. I didn't even offer to get up with M because I was mad at him, so he got up with her at about 1:30, 4:00, and actually up and downstairs at 5 for awhile. He came back to bed around 8, but she was up at 9:30. I just told him to go lay down for awhile since he's grumpy and tired.
I have got to work on getting M to stop eating at night. She's still getting up twice most nights, and it's just ridiculous.

NellieOleson, ticket to ride is a lot of fun! Once you get the hang of it, try ticket to ride Europe. It has a few additions (tunnels, ferries, and you can hitch a ride on someone else's train if a route is blocked) that make things a bit more interesting.

Ticket to ride sounds like fun!! I'll have to check it out. I'm glad you had some good time connecting with your H, @ nellieoleson. I just hate that it ended in very little sleep. I swear it's a coin toss every night as to how things will end up with these kiddos.

My impromptu project is done! I've always lusted after those beautiful mudrooms you see on Pinterest, etc. but there is no space for one in my house. This spot is dead space between our laundry and master bedroom. The laundry leads out to the garage and is our main exit and entry to the house. So it finally dawned on me to repurpose this space after looking at some Pinterest stuff. Before, I just had a small bookcase here with books and pictures.
Shoes and diaper bag supplies go in the baskets. Bags and backpacks in the cubbies. Mail, keys, sunglasses etc on top. Our family calendar is on the wall. So far I'm loving it!!

Can you come make me one?! I'm drooling. We have a large entryway, but it's awkwardly shaped and I haven't figured out how to keep it organized yet. H hanging his coat up would be a start lol
Lollipop E was feeding twice per night as well. I cut out one then this last week cut out the other. I think I miss the night time snuggles more than she misses the feeds.
I've had just the best weekend off with E, I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow. She is seriously so much fun these days. She's constantly surprising me with what she imitates and what she understands. Her latest is to carry a washcloth around and wash everything. We'll tell her wash the chair, wash the baby (her doll), etc, and she'll go over and do it. She also holds up her arms and says "up" now when she wants to be held. Freaking adorable.
I'm just not sure how to go about dropping her feeds. I never had to with S, he just stopped getting up one night. I could let her CIO, but I worry about her waking S.

Yeah we had to let her CIO. But I can see how tough that would be with another little one. I was under some pressure to night wean as I need my prolactin to be low enough for me to do a FET. I'm not weaning overall, just at night, which apparently is usually enough.

We have started to night wean the last few days. I will rock but not nurse every wake up. I am still doing one motn nurse for the moment. Hoping to drop that in another week.

Ugh we did cio the last couple nights and last night set a record. 2 hours. I called it at that point, nursed her and she went to sleep. I'm exhausted and it clearly isn't working.
I'm going to try to let her CIO for at least one wake up tonight. If it wakes S, so be it.
H is making supper tonight. I'm in a horrible mood, so he's just trying not to make it worse. S is being crazy right now. I'm so glad he goes back to school tomorrow.

I know, CIO was easier before she could walk around the crib and yell...

Ugh. I gave up on CIO when DD started getting upset just going into her room to get ready for bed after her bath. PTSD like. I just can't do it. Oh yeah and the "Mama! Mama!" Im a sleep training failure two times running. 😪

I'm right there with you.
I had dd2 sleep trained to go down in her crib by herself at bedtime, but it stopped working (sick, teething, leap, travel) and I couldn't deal with going through the sleep training process again.
I really need to night wean, or at least cut down her nursing at night, but she acts like I told her we were dropping her off at the orphanage or something when I cut her off. It's a full on freak out and I just don't have the mental stamina to deal with that MOTN. Especially when I can just pop a boob in her mouth and get some peace and quiet - well, quiet at least.
scorpioscuba @nellioleson can I take a seat on your bench? We were pretty well sleep trained and then teeth and sick and I just gave up. I literally can not cio again. Even the thought of going through the whole process makes me twitchy. Night weaning is my last vestige of hope.

DDs 1+2 both finally STTN regularly when we ditched their bottles (DD2 did some before that, but there where phases with 2-3 wakeups, still). I swore I was going to get rid of DD3's bottles earlier in the hopes that she would STTN earlier. And really, I'm telling myself it would make the most sense before I go back to work in April. But... yeah... I still need to somehow get through the days with my freelance work and 3 LOs, and I don't know how that's supposed to happen if we sleep train.

I really fear the dependence my baby has on my boobs. I don't know how to stop overnight feedings when it's the only thing that calms her. The others kind of stopped asking and she definitely hasn't. I'm mentally trying to go with it until 18mo, but daytime nursing is so much easier. Ironically she is way less interested during the day...
