We are at my bffs house recovering from a slightly late night and one too many glasses of wine... L just went down for a nap. I'm drinking more coffee. NYE (redo) was a success! Having a lazy day here before driving back to the city... chocolate how much snow have you guys had?? I feel like you've gotten a ton already!
leahks77 we've had 3 decent blizzards come through and I'm not sure the final count but with the blowing it seems as though they've all left about a foot. After the last one H shoveled our whole deck down to the concrete and there's probably 2 inches covering it now. But they say the most accumulation is supposed to happen later today/tonight.
Also, I'm solo parenting today and DS has hockey at 5. I'm not sure it'll be bad enough at that point for them to cancel. But I'm going to have to shovel the driveway to leave and haul both kids myself. Bleh. I so would love to skip but it's a good activity for DS to get out for.
I have an unexpected day with both kids today. Apparently DD's daycare is closed today. I should've asked last week because I had a feeling it would be, given that yesterday was NYD and it was a Sunday, so banks and stuff tend to stay closed the following Monday and consider it a holiday.
I just wish I had known before we got up, got ready and drove there lol.
The mall was still open though so I took the kids there for a while. I needed to return my tablet case, because it didn't have a hole for the tablet camera. So I returned that, and somehow left with 850g of chocolate and a popcorn maker in exchange lol
Lazy day here. We did our errands yesterday so we could just chill today. I have some cleaning to do (I slacked all week. I figure if the work force gets to take off, so do I. lol) and I have to bring the dog in to the vet. I am going to force myself to finally tidy up our bedroom. It's horrible and it stresses me out but I never get around to it since it's always last on the list. Adulting is exhausting, lol.

Lazy here too. Might go it for a walk with the dogs if we feel like it since it's a nice sunny day and just at 0 which is quite nice. It's DHs birthday tomorrow but he has to work, so I might make his birthday brownies tonight.

Our nursing strike is back. I thought what happened the other day was just due to travelling bc he nursed without issue when we got home and all day yesterday. He did nurse briefly first thing this morning and has since refused (its now almost 3 pm).
As soon as I put him on the pillow, he just starts crying and squirming to get away. He's been a real bear to get down for naps also and just generally "off" so I'm not sure what's going on. I have a mild sore throat, maybe he does too? I gave Advil with no effect just in case there's some teeth I don't know about. I'm worried he's going to get dehydrated. He only took 1 oz of pumped milk with lunch.
Of course I'm solo adulting until Thurs, I feel like he's always terrible whenever DH is gone.
Good afternoon! DH is home today so I've been shirking my parenting duties. S woke up this morning with a fever and goopy eyes. So far no other symptoms but I'm worried it could be the return of her EIs. Her appt with the ENT is a week from today and I was hoping we could at least make it till then with no issue.
auchick913 sorry about the nursing issues. Do you think maybe you should bring him to the pedi?

Our pedi is actually out of town for 3 wks and it's a solo practice so we're instructed to go to the hospital if something comes up. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that especially since dh is gone.
I think it's something with his tummy. He did bf a little around 330 right after he pooped. Not much but I'll take it after 9 hrs of refusing. He hadnt gone in a few days so I think he's backed up and not really hungry? I hope he has a good cleanout soon.
Sorry S isn't feeling well. Do you think she'll get tubes?

auchick913, that's crazy that they send you to the ER and not a fill in practice for at least calling for questions. Maybe there's regulations about this, but that seems so extreme. I'm sorry for the nursing strike- that sounds stressful. Is he stuffy? X doesn't eat as much when he's congested.
Lazy day here today as well. I tutored this morning, but that's it. H is rewatching Stranger Things and I'm cleaning up Christmas mess. Undecorating the tree is so tedious and annoying.
X has been napping fine since we've gotten home. I was fully prepared to have to hold him for naps a few more days, but it hasn't been a problem! He must be excited for his own bed too

That's annoying, sorry. I hope you can avoid a hospital visit. Maybe try loading him up on prunes, pears and probiotics. I'm kind of hoping for tubes, it should help the situation anyways.
Is anyone else's baby possibly part fish or mermaid?? This kid is INSANE for water. She spends all of bath just dunking her face in, or splashing with serious full body gusto. I realized tonight that she also likes if I hold her on her back so she feels like she's floating. Crazy water baby. I think I'm signing her up for swim lessons.

Yes! We are starting a "Water Babies" class this Saturday. It's mostly the same stuff a library class would offer, but with "getting comfortable in water" added in. I think he's going to go crazy for it.

We've been in swim class since September and start the new session this Saturday. Ryan is going to be so excited. He loves swimming. He used to try and get to our pool (it's gated and locked) and got super happy when we took him in.
Ryan napped a grand total of 1.5 hrs today. Not good for the baby who normally does 2.5-3 per day. We were fully expecting a meltdown before bed but he didn't have one. He was cranky but we managed ok. Thank god Dh was still home or I might not have been able to handle it solo. I did manage a walk with him and the dogs so that was great for some fresh air.

leahks77 I've thought about signing us up for baby swim. He gets so mad when we take him out of the bath tub, lol.
Tonight marks the end of my "vacation" (my H goes back to work tomorrow). I think this should mean I get to veg out with chick flicks until I go to bed. Dishes can wait for when I am back to "work" tomorrow.
I wish there were more options for swimming classes here. I put DS in at 18 months and that was even kind of little for here. And you basically get a 2 week session in the summer and you're done.
Well I shoveled my half of the driveway this afternoon and we ventured out for DS's hockey practice. The snow will continue overnight. They already cancelled school for tomorrow so the kids and I will stay home. I was looking forward to getting back into a work day routine but I'm also totally ok with not having to set my alarm.

leahks77, over here too. She LOVES the bath which i think inspired my thoughts for a theme for her B-day ( bubble bath/mermaid/rubberduckie something along those lines haha)
yesterday she was in MIL bathtub and kept laying on her belly and trying to drink the water. We have been taking her to the pool once a week since she was 2 months and then she also did swim lessons this fall. she cannot get enough of it splashing and super happy, not a care or scared of water at all. definite water baby. I saw a shirt i might get for her birthday it says "born in water basically a mermaid "
