TTMA fevers. Yesterday when I picked up the kids, L was kind of whiny. We get home, she eats part of her bottle but refuses the rest, is still whiny and grouchy and feels warm. The temporal thermometer kept giving mixed results, but she measured 102 F with the rectal. I gave her some Tylenol, and she eventually calmed down and seemed to be feeling better. She ate her bedtime bottle no problem and slept all night. No fever this morning. It seemed so random that she'd have a fever one evening and then poof, it's gone. Is that common? She was completely back to normal this morning.
ETA and I did check for teeth since her brother is sprouting some, but alas, no toofs to be had.
This is super common in our house and has been with both boys. Tylenol is a lifesaver! I was so hesitant to give ds1 Tylenol (oh my a drug for my baby no way let's be more natural) but learned quickly that giving a half dose early usually helps and it never gets worse so for ds2 I'm giving it sooner and am not hesitant at all as it helps so much.

pbandj714, I agree 102 is too high for teething. Hope it was either a fluke reading or something that passed really quickly!
Teething temps are real, but usually less than 100.4. The week before DS's teeth showed up the daycare kept telling us they'd take his temp because he felt warm and it would be like 100.2, and then they'd recheck 5 min later and it was normal (they need to send him home if it's over 100.4). I also measured a few in the 99.5-100.4 range at home. I also gave Tylenol a couple of times and it made a big difference because he would cry and refuse the bottle and then cry more because he was so darn hungry.
Thanks everyone! It may have been a weird fluke. The babysitter didn't mention her feeling warm or acting off, so that was good. I took her temp when we got home and got 99.5. So maybe teeth are on the horizon and yesterday was just an off day. Who knows! I'm just glad she's happy!
I have MLK day as a holiday, so I want to find something fun to do with the kiddos since DH has to work (boo). I'm hoping the weather is decent because the zoo is offering free admission. They have a lot of indoor exhibits, so as long as it's not raining or absolutely frigid I may give that a try.

My sister and niece are coming to visit for the weekend! I'm excited. I haven't seen them since Thanksgiving. My brothers (who live locally) will come over for dinner Sunday night and we're throwing a birthday party for my husband. I'll be baking an angel food cake (his favorite). I have MLK Day off, but my DH doesn't.
Dh is coming home after two weeks away I'm taking Saturday afternoon to myself and getting my hair done! He has also promised that I get to sleep in on Sunday. I don't care what else we do I'm just so happy he'll be home.

Your are such a super mom for handling two kids solo so long (and so often). Glad you'll be getting some help and some "you" time!
packerfan4life thanks, but I think we're all super moms! I'm pretty sure we all do 75%+ of the work every day
My H is actually usually super helpful (although was much more hands on/helpful with DD1 than he is this time, I think since she was FF). We're actually contemplating him taking a year off to be a SAID next year.
packerfan4life that's awesome on all accounts. With the big transition that'll be really helpful for the girls and I'm sure your husband will enjoy spending more time with them.
I don't give mh enough credit. He is very helpful when he's home.
Does anyone else need to kick a sugar addiction? I can't seem to gain any willpower on this issue. It's too delicious.
Yes! I bought a tub of edible cookie dough last week and it's almost gone. My sugar problem is 100% why I'm not losing weight. I need to get a grip but it's so delicious!

That sounds delcious and I want it.
We had fancy donuts for breakfast this weekend, and then my H made peanut butter cookies, and then of course I bought truffles because chocolate. Now it's all sitting in my house like eattttt meeee... and I will.
I have zero chill when it comes to sweets. Zero. So I don't usually keep treats in the house, cause if I do....🐷🐷🐷 lol
I have the worst sweet tooth, and I have a cake/cookie business. I was hoping I would get sick of it all, but I can say after five years I still love it...too much.

I'm trying to decide if $500 is worth my sleep and sanity. Looked in sleep consultants, DD screamed from midnight to 5 am. I don't know what her problem is.

greysonsmom that's a lot of money you could spend on cute outfits. I don't know if I could fork over that much but I also know I couldn't deal with screaming for 5 hours. Hopefully she's hitting a physical milestone (walking??) or tooth and she gets back to sttn.

I'm there too. That's really what they cost?! Ahhh.
