I mean it's not Monday right? We started off with a bath this morning. Because who doesn't like rolling over while mom changes a shitty diaper and getting it allllllll over your legs. This kid is on fire today. Why isn't it nap time yet?

I can get behind some Thursday enthusiasm ... it means it's Friday eve!
I'm finally catching up around here I think. I'm excited for your good NT scan morwen!
There's lots of other things I know I've missed, but I've tried to lovetit along the way.
We have a chance of snow this weekend. I live in the South, so this is a BIG DEAL.
DD got a booster seat for a late Christmas present, and I was cracking up at her little self sitting at the table with us and not in her high chair. Our babies are getting so big!!!
Sleep is still terrible around here, and since starting back at work after the holidays I've been hurting because I'm still not back going to bed at a reasonable time. On the bright side, DD got used to sleeping a little later, so I get a whole 30min to myself in the morning when I get up at 5:15/5:30 for work.
I'm also trying to get back into running again (I finished C25K back in June and then fell off the bandwagon, so I've started C2 10k this time). Ideally I'll do a sprint triathlon at the end of the summer.
I feel like I miss a lot around here ... who do I need to talk to re:FB group?

If u message me your name and maybe a description of your profile pic , I can add you to the Facebook group!
Today is my day off. Some of it will be spent searching for my name badge that I somehow misplaced Tuesday night. I had to work yesterday and it was the longest day ever considering I work in a locked unit and 12 hour shifts, six years and I've never forgot my name tag.
I started potty training Ds2 last week and he's doing SO good except for poop. I need to solve this issue.
My brother wants to go skiing for his birthday on Saturday and it's only supposed to be a high of 7* I am trying to figure out a way to gently back out.

musicalsilver, yay come join us! What type of booster seat did you get for DD?
kellybenelly83, X woke up crazy too. He's in a great mood, but he's all over the place. It's hilarious and exhausting.
I need to run some errands today. It's cccold, I don't want to leave the house!
I'm going to start watching another baby in our house towards the end of the month. It's going to allow me to stay home longer with X but we need the money. It's basically the same net profit we'd get if I went back to teaching and paid for daycare/nanny (I told H I'd go back to work when X was one, so now I'm looking for ways around that . I'm nervous though! He'll only be 13 weeks when he starts coming. I feel sad that all my 1:1 time with X is coming to an end, but look forward to being in a more comfortable place financially.

Props to you, mrssmith613. Your job is important and doesn't sound easy!
Yay for potty success! I hear poop is always the biggest battle. I'd suggest a raincheck. "I'd love to spend the time with you, but when we're not as miserable because it's so cold! Let's watch for a bit warmer weekend."

Oh but squishy baby time!!! I steal my bffs baby every time I see him. He's 6 months old now though. I need an new one. Ryan was a bear to get down for nap. He was losin his shit over the sippy cup. He kept trying to take it for a walk and would drop it on the back floor mat, where the dogs come in and out so I took it away. Cue meltdown. (It was empty) Anyways hopefully nap sorts him out, I'm hoping for another half hour out of him.
My daycare lady said she'd call if kids went back this week otherwise start back Monday. Now I know it's busy and after holidays but I can literally see her house clearly and saw two kids being dropped off this morning. I'm not in real need because I'm home, but a little alone time is very very needed right now. I'd have appreciated a call so that I could get a few hours to myself. Thankfully next week we start longer hours. So I'll have time to get my house in order before my return to work. And shop. Because major wardrobe upgrades are needed.

rivers and roads I thought of doing something similar so I could stay home but still make money. But I thought the same thing about my time with R so I couldn't pull the trigger yet. Are you watching him full time? Is this someone you know?

It's one full day, and the other days I will only have him until 2 or 2:30. I figured it was a perfect schedule, since it would allow us to still have the afternoon together for 1:1 time or to do something fun (which we might actually be able to afford now, ha).
I really didn't want to have to go to someone else's house, so I offered a lower rate if she'd bring him here. She lives a few blocks away from me, but I found her on Care.com. It's worth taking a look when you're ready. I've seen lots of part time/a few days a week needs.

Dh just called to ask if I spent $700 on Groupon this morning. No, I did not lose control of my faculties and go on a Groupon shopping spree, so it seems my credit card number has been compromised. Ugh. The hassle of dealing with this sucks, but I'm curious to know what $700 worth of Groupons gets you.
Morning ladies! DH and I traded cars today because my sister is dropping off my nephew (B) again today and I don't want to switch around all the car seats again. This way I only need to move his. DH drives an 03 Yukon and it's so old and gross. Definitely needs a good, deep clean. Someday when it's not -2 I may have to do that. Other than preschool pick up I don't plan to leave my house again today.
musicalsilver, yay come join us! What type of booster seat did you get for DD?
The basic fisher-price "healthy care" booster. My main requirement was that it was all plastic/super easy to clean.
One meal in and I'm happy with it so far! Our dogs are bummed because there was less food on the floor and they were (fftc?) the first pass high chair cleaners.
I'm so happy to get the high chair out of our kitchen. We'll have to use it when we have company over still, but yay for more space!

My dogs clean the high chair and the floor daily. I always give it a wipe before putting her back in.
I had my massage this morning. It was soo worth it. Apparently my left side felt really tight and tense. It's my dominant side and I usually carry DS on that side when I need to carry him.
Now I'm waiting for the kids to wake up so we can possibly go to the mall with H. I'm on the search for Disney Infinity characters. SIL gave us the game and the game pad a few months ago, and I've been playing with it in my free time. But I guess they are discontinuing it in March, at least online content and any future games, so everything is on clearance everywhere.

piperhalliwell there seems to be a lot of that going around. Both DH and my mom just had their cards compromised.
rivers and roads I hope the arrangement with the baby works out well for you guys. I had offered to take in a friend's little guy for 6 months because she wasn't going to get him into her childcare option of choice until he reached 18 months. She ended up taking extended leave and I found out I was expecting twins so it was a no go (our province brought in regulations last year that a home daycare situation can only have 2 kids under 2 in the home, including your own).

piperhalliwell, that sucks. At least you are at home. When I went to my hometown this summer (8+ hours away ) I pulled into a gas station on my way back to fill up and my card wouldn't work. i used debit so NBD however i started to get super sleepy on the drive back ( i drove overnight, never again!) and tried checking into a hotel but because my card wouldn't work they wouldn't let me. (stupid) so i slept in the car for a few hours while G slept in the back seat then got back on the road again. i sorted it out and it took almost 2 weeks before my new card arrived. boo. hope yours is dealt with faster.

super lazy day at home. G is on day 3 with a fever of 39.5 (umm… 102.2) motrin will break it and then it comes back again. she is either sleeping a ton (her current nap is 4h+ right now) or not at all. no other symptoms other than decreased appetite. so i haven't taken her in but just watching her.
So, we decided to go ahead and try out the Enfagrow toddler formula, figuring we could use that for a couple months and then as we do the transition to milk - it cuts our formula bill in half. He seems to like it, hasn't shown any signs of discomfort or anything, but his poop... omg. It is so rank. It smells like really awful adult poop, and it's so strong that I have to change his pants or the smell is stuck there for the rest of the day. His poop is mushy but certainly not (or even close to) diarrhea. Is this the sign of a problem or just his body adjusting? Is this what toddler poop smells like with cow's milk? (The formula is based more on actual cow's milk than just the whey they separate out for baby formula.) Ugh, it's so nasty.

rivers and roads, congrats on the new gig. Sounds like a good tradeoff. Making money AND staying at home.
piperhalliwell, sorry about your CC. We had someone charge up $600 in person at Lowe's somewhere in the midwest (never even been there) this time last year but it was easily taken care of and we didn't have to pay or anything.
We finally got AC installed in DS's room. I set it on 24C/75F for the night. Is that too warm? He's just in PJ's, no sleepsack. The unit has a room temperature reading and it said 26C/79F when we turned it on...yikes. Maybe he will sleep better with it cooler in there. These 30 min naps are killing me.

If he's used to and likes heat that would probably be fine. Personally I like it 70/71 at night.
auchick913 We had to experiment for a while but found this kid sleeps best at 71-72 degrees (just warm pjs). But if he was sleeping at 79, 75 may feel perfect for him. I know R won't nap at all if he's too warm. Good luck, I hope it helps!
I am exhausted. He was sooooo clingy today. Even after my H got home and was playing with him. He kept crawling over to me and pulling on my legs. He has mastered the fake whine already.

DS was like that. He followed me anywhere in the house, even if H was down on the floor trying to play with him. It went on foreeeeeever. Like he was 2 or 3. Such a mama's boy. Now he wants daddy to play most often. 😪
Hola! I had a steady busy day at work, then home, supper, and getting kids ready for bed. Tomorrow I'm working to make up for Tuesday's snow day. DS was so excited to finally go back to preschool this morning. Between Christmas break and all the snow days they've barely had it. Oh! And they're predicting another storm to come early next week. I mean, why not.
I *think* DD's lower gums were maybe swollen a bit tonight, and she was like 99.2 after supper. Hopefully she'll get some bottom teeth to join that random top tooth.

This is new, the last couple days. Idk if he's feeling a tooth or playing along the leap shit or what. Hoping it's just temporary..
