Ryan slept til 7:15!! That's a recent record! I love him very much this morning. We're getting ready for an invasion this evening. My nieces are coming over for dinner and sleepover. I used this excuse to rent secret lives of pets so that THEY could watch it lol. Then it's air mattress and sleeping bags in our room for them. We don't have many options for sleeping on the main floor right now and we don't want them alone in the basement (finished but would likely scare them)
Started sleep training last night. Had a small bottle ready on his first feed, then he woke up at 3:45 and I nursed because ow boobs, then slept til 7:15! So hopefully we can keep this trend up until he's either once a night or not at all.
Married 10/10/10! TTC Baby #1 since April 2014 BFP Oct 16 - EP terminated Nov 6 2014 Off the Bench January 2015! BFP #2 June 1 2015 - EDD Feb 12 2016! Baby Boy born 15th February 2016!

DD learned to use her push walker last night and at 6:30 this morning, she learned how to stand up in her crib. I am so proud. My little baby lump is so grown up!

So quickly now that she realized she wants to do it!
Our furnace just cannot keep up. It's cold, yes, but it seems especially slow and struggling all of a sudden. By the time we got up this morning, the heat had been set to on for almost 2 hours, and it's still only 66 degrees in the house (mind you, we have it set to stay at 68 throughout the night, so clearly it didn't do its job during the night either). It might be time to look into a new furnace. This thing is an ancient beast anyway- the inspector was surprised it still worked at all when we bought the house 2 years ago.

Morning! Night 1 of sleep training last night. H totally let me down. The whole point of doing what we're doing is to help him feel secure while he figures this sleep thing out. After about 25 minutes, he just put him in the crib, shut the door, and walked away. So I ended up doing all the wake ups, like usual, but taking forever to get back down. I get that it's hard to listen to him cry, but I'm asking for a few nights of holding and shushing help when I've covered multi-wake ups a night EVERY NIGHT for the last 11 months.
On a brighter note, X starts his baby "swim class" today! 2 of our friends also signed up, so that should be fun. This afternoon we are supposed to be going to an indoor play place that's likely too big for X, but our friend's 18 month old should have a good time.
Morning! V slept till 7 today which I'm very thankful for because my friend and I split a bottle of wine last night. It's raining all weekend here and I'm doing nothing. Yay!

Yeah I don't think this crawling will last long. I bet she will be walking by her birthday.

Sorry YH didn't help out. I hope he redeems himself tonight.
Tried sleep training...DS was up at 1 and H gave 2oz of milk and he went back down...for an hour.
I nursed some at 2:15 and he went down until 4 or 4:30 he didn't want to settle until H gave him a cereal bar
Up again at 6:30, I nursed, up at 7, slept cuddled while I browsed the internet until 8:45.
It seems like he's CONSTANTLY hungry right now. Breakfast this morning was a waffle, a whole clementine and nursing...I suspect he'd eat some cheese as well if it was offered.
I don't know how to wean overnight/get him STTN with this constant eating, and diminished quantities led to more wakeups last night

That's chilly! Does the furnace possibly need a new filter? I hope at the very least it lasts until spring and doesn't die on you

The other day trtlcrzy had this issue and the filter needed to be changed. Try that!
DS is supposed to have hockey at 11:45 today. He's at a different rink today that is not temp controlled like the usual one we're at. It's inside, but it's usually not much warmer than outside. The wind chill is over 30 below right now. Although there's a warm area for viewing (for me and DD) it's going to be super cold for DS. And it's not like he's going to be skating so intensely to get hot and sweaty. I'm debating skipping.
morwenchocolate Do gas furnaces have filters? I don't know how any of this works, lol.
Oh that I don't know. I mean, if you've never ever changed a filter, then maybe not. Or your filter is in dire need of changing in that case. Would your H know?

My H as a handyman.... that's a hilarious idea.
I think we will wait the weekend out and see how it goes. We have a space heater in the living room and the baby's room, plus I have baking to do so that'll help. Maybe we will have a guy come look next week, see if we need a tune up or something.

Sucky, but I would totally skip. That seems way too cold to be out there. And even if he did work up a sweat, that's technically worse in the cold. Maybe you guys could find a fun indoor activity to replace it?

When is the last time you changed your furnace filter? When mine was being dumb the other day that fixed the problem for us.

Sounds like he might be having a growth spurt or maybe your supply is low because of your pregnancy.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they do. I'm pretty sure ours is gas. As you can tell I'm just catching up to the other suggestions, lol. I would go look to see if there is somewhere a filter could go, yours could be super clogged if you've never changed it.
Morning! DH let me sleep in after S got up. Don't let that fool you that I/she slept through the night. We were up a few times. I have to work today so that will be a nice break from my children.
rivers and roads sorry that your DH didn't help with sleep training. My DH didn't help when I did sleep training with H either. I hope X gets with the program and starts sleeping better for you.

We have a gas furnace and it does have a filter - if you can see a make/model you might be able to google it (location and size/type) our filter is an inch different than the most common one so it's annoying to find.

I'm hoping growth spurt since that's temporary...I'm not sure if my supply is lower since he's always woken up a lot but we were going to partly wean next month anyhow in preparation for me going back to work in March
It just feels like no matter how much food I give him he's only full for like an hour, and I'm trying to give food with protein etc to keep him full longer.

Hahahahahaha. I looked on our home inspection from when we moved. It says he looked at the filter, so there must be one. Obviously we've never changed it so... there ya go. My H is downstairs looking for it now and I just hear a lot of banging around and cussing. He apparently can't find it. Sigh..

Ignore the dirty dark mess, but right there, where I moved the cover a bit, in between the furnace and ductwork is where the filter is on ours.
We went from 0 to almost 4 teeth real quick. Her second top tooth corner tip seems to be trying to poke through. Her 2 bottom are finally there. Can't say for sure if they've broken through but I can see and feel them.
morwen are you trying plenty of carbs and healthy fats too? That seems to help curb this kid's appetite, plus gives him good energy.
For carbs he loves his cereal bars and I give him bread sometimes too, or pasta/potatoes if that's what we're having for dinner
Fats I do full fat cheese and yogurt - any other foods your LO loves that you'd recommend?
I'd say that's most of what we do too. I also keep muffins and pancakes in the freezer for easy breakfast or snacks. Avocados. Oatmeal. Eggs are also good for protein, iron, and higher calories (I can't remember if you guys have an allergy issue).
