Holy moly😫 I hope he applies this steadfast persistence to other things in life than just boobs for bed. This is rough. How many nights was it awful before it started to get better? H is stepping up tonight but I just feel so bad.
We just got a lot of snow dumped on us overnight. It looks like at least a foot. So I guess we're staying in today. DS has been super cranky and running a bit of a fever. He also just had a diarrhea type diaper. Poor babe.
I'm trying to figure out the best time to go outside to shovel. H shoveled the walkway when he was leaving for work, but I still need to do the driveway. I'm guessing when the kids are napping?
chocolate that sounds like the last thing I'd want to do so I'd let DH and DS go by themselves.
Lol and I want to go, I like doing things like that with DS. But I'm thinking if we all go, DD and I will shop or something. Otherwise we can make just a day trip and have one of our moms watch DD.

Either while napping or can you take them out? I've done both. DS has a little shovel so he "helped" and then with DD I stuck her in the wagon all bundled up and with a blanket too (could do the same with stroller) and she just watched. I kept her right by the door (which for us is kind of in a nook so out of the wind).

morning mamas, i guess we are officially boring parents. last night we put DD down around 7 and by 8 we were both asleep on the couch, haha.
it is f'in cold here today -25 feels like -35 (Celsius if it matters) so we are staying in today instead of going for a snow shoe hike. we are predicted to get a ton of snow too. so just keeping warm is our game.
catching up… tkford216, all furnaces have filters. my dad is an HVAC guy and he will sometimes go out to a house where they haven't changed the filter and thats the only thing that is wrong, once it is changed the furnace works fine. some time the filter is horizontal but it should be somewhere right beside the main box of the unit. so try that before you pay for someone to come out and look at it.

I ended up putting DS down for a morning nap, then took DD out with me, and had the monitor in my coat pocket. DD loved being out there with me, and even helped me clear off the car. There was about a foot and a half to shovel through.
Now I have brownies in the oven, and discovered I don't have enough icing sugar to make the frosting. Glad I got the shoveling over with! Now I can take the kids out to the store.

Rockstar, swim! You deserve all the brownies (maybe one for DD since she helped )
Not many plans here today. We're supposed to go to some beer-get-together with a bunch of people we've never met (formed on FB through our local town's page). I know it will be good, I just hate making small talk and the getting-to-know-you portion of making new friends.
kellybenelly83, how did the sleep over go? Did they all sleep?
There's a monster truck event semi close to us next weekend and H wants to take DS. Like already mentioned it to him tonight, so we're going. We really haven't discussed specifics or anything (it's 2.5 hours away so I assume we'll all go). I'm trying to decide if we should all go and DD and I find something else to do during the event? (We could shop or my brother lives there we could probably hang at his house). Or should we all go together to the event? I would for sure get ear muff protectors and DS would be wearing some as well. Wonder if she'd do ok? She was perfect during the Paw Patrol Live but I realize a play and monster trucks are on different levels.
I would not take the baby. Seems like a loud and kind of boring event for a small child, especially since she just started walking and probably doesn't want to sit still. I'm having the same conundrum with an auto show coming up (I'm the one that wants to go 😬) but I think we will skip it.
Well, I got C's fever. And now L is puking. I think we need to sell our house. It's clearly so infested with germs we will never get better.
Oh man. That's brutal. I hope you all feel better soon.
My friend just posted a picture of her nursing her baby, who has a 104.5 fever and a UTI, while she wears gloves and a face mask, because mama has the flu and bronchitis.
Is it just because I'm paying more attention now that I have a baby, or is this a doozie for sicknesses this season!?

It seems to me that I'm hearing about more sickness this winter. Also, sorry to your friend but there is a very high chance her baby won't get what she has since baby is getting the antibodies through her milk.
Ugh thanks ladies. It's a doozy of a sickness season. The pedi said they've had more sick day calls than any fall/winter since they opened. Respiratory stuff, GI stuff, and they all seem to hang on for weeks. Awesome. We have also been SO BUSY at work. The whole hospital is full. All the time. Hell....

Yes they slept! But they were in our room on an air mattress and we were kept up by tiny whines and shuffling. Ryan woke us all up at 615. My sister showed up at 1030 after the younger one had been in time out twice. She did however hand us $50 in tim hortons cards and 2 babysitting vouchers lol. We are super beat today now. Pizza will be ordered, and we appreciate our quiet baby so so much right now.

I just reworked our budget for the next year based on what we've been spending on stuff. We come in a good 400$ too short each month, *if* we stick to the budget properly (which we hardly ever do because we suck at life). So, this should be fun.
I have a problem. I have a clogged duct, which is annoying, but the problem is that it's close to my nip so the breastshield covers it when I pump. Therefore I can't massage it or push on it. Has anyone dealt with this or have any ideas? To complicate things I'm at work so no warm compresses or anything available.

If you're looking for instant relief (as in not wanting to wait til you're home) all I can think is spending some time in a bathroom stall massaging and releasing into the toilet. Eta, that sounded way dirtier than I intended..

Unfortunately I can't leave my desk until my pump break in 1/2 hour. I could try massaging it a little bit before I hook the pump up, I suppose.
Well, after nearly 2 1/2 years of having kids, we had our first poop in the tub incident. Hopefully the last, but doubtful. It was DD who did it so at least clean up was easier. But ugh. Shitty night over here lol
Pretty productive day here. I finally took the Christmas trees down and put all things Christmas away. It seems so empty without it all now, but in a good clutter free way. I got a shower in, which is always good. Made a roast/French dip for supper, it turned out pretty good. Tomorrow I am working instead of Wednesday. I'm not used to Mondays so I'm dreading the wake up, especially since we slept in till 8 all weekend!

chocolate I got a nice long shower in this morning (only a hint of guilt but I deserve it, right?) and I just finished getting Christmas decorations and the tree away here too.
swim DD1 only pooped in the tub once and she was HORRIFIED. Haha. She jumped up and booked it to the other side of the tub begging to get out. Poor kid wouldn't even go back into the bathroom for a while. Of course DH was in the bathroom doing a man poop when it all went down.
I just watched the season finale of Gilmore girls. Not how I thought things would end up and now I'm sad it's over. Tomorrow night I start the year in the life special.

OMG lol H was also in the bathroom having a man poop at the time too. That's hilarious. DD was also very horrified and didn't want to get back in the tub last night after we cleaned her up. Hopefully she'll still have a bath tonight

Haha, I just reread my post. I meant that he was in another bathroom so missed it all. DD1 announced to him as he came out that she had pooped in the tub. He looked at me "For real?"
