That's kinda how im feeling today will pan out. Sleep wasn't great, toddler be toddling, and I am dreading going to the doctor to hear something like he has some contagious disease and I have to keep him home all week and somehow away from E. It was hard enough for just 2 days with my H. helping.
For distraction, tell me something good about your day.
Morning. DS only had one MOTN wake up at 4:30 this morning. Wee! 6.5 hrs I will take it. Now if we can make this a habit and kick the congestion so wer can get him back in his room. (He is in the rnp again and I prefer that in our room)
Toddler on the other has woke up quite emotional. As H walked out the door both kids were screaming. I think it made his day of meetings look a lot better.
I'm driving H to work today then going to my mom's for the day. He is working a delayed schedule this week and we made dinner plans with friends that we haven't seen in a while, so I'll be leaving C with my mom, going home to take care of the dog, picking H up and going out to eat tonight. All to avoid too much back and forth with two cars lol. But it works out because I was planning to go to my mom's anyway and she's close to where we're going.
C had two 5 hour stretches last night. I'm feeling very lucky to be getting sleep.
@sarahwithanh good luck with the ENT, keep us posted.
C is sleeping peacefully this morning--wish she could have done that last night! I'm going to ensure she gets solid naps today; she's been doing so well with sleep but last night was brutal.
My mom is stopping by this morning, and tonight I'm going with her and my two aunts to dinner and to see LaLaLand. Looking forward to getting out of the house.
LT for hugs, hangry. Hoping today passed quickly for you.
D was awesome last night, FINALLY. She slept from 10:20-4, 4:30-7, and 7:15-8:45. Good thing too because I woke up to a text from my nanny that she's sick, so today is going to be my first ever full day with both of my offspring. T&P's are necessary and appreciated.
I just nursed D and she's back to sleep but I need to get up right now and shower before DS wakes up. I also need to run downstairs and make my smoothie for my first day of my health and fitness challenge now because D can't tolerate the noise of the blender.
So I think the ped's office opens at 9 to schedule same day appointments. I've called like 8 times in 12 minutes. I hope they don't have a caller id or I look like a crazy mom.
Today is our long awaited ENT follow-up so I'm excited for that. Otherwise H doesn't work till 3 today so I'm looking forward to not being the only one stuck under a baby all day.
Hi ladies! Long time no check in, I've been following and staying caught up but my phone keyboard has not been working well and I am rarely on a computer...well got a new phone so I am getting back into! Hope you'll still have me!
This is my last week of maternity leave. I am feeling ok about it. But have had a few good ugly cries this weekend. I am excited to go back as I am starting a new role which I am really excited about but also super emotional about leaving my kiddos again. 12 weeks went so much faster this time. I blame the holidays.
To add to all the feels...I am registering DS for kindergarden today. Umm...how did that happen?!

My pedi opens at 8:30 for questions for doctors and I am always calling at 8:30:01...No shame. I need to know if my kid needs to be seen or if I can send him to daycare.
Morning, another morning spoiled by a toddler. MH got him all ready and somehow I cannot get him to brush his teeth and get his coat and shoes on to get out the door.
I bumped into my director dropping off DS at school and she got to see N. Either I'm deprived of social interaction or I may be okay with going back next month. It was nice to chat and she suggested I ask my direct boss to work remotely some next month to fill in some days before daycare starts up.
Hoping to do some laundry and make a chicken chili today..Maybe even put away maternity clothes, that's getting ambitious though.
FX for you hangry, keeping kids separated sounds like the worst! I hope it's nothing serious.
Good luck with the ent @sarahwithanh!
T&P dashook! I was nervous first time with both kids all on my own. Hectic days for sure, but somehow we make it work and everyone survives.
I need to go to the gym this morning and add L to our account so I can start dropping her off at daycare. Planning to workout tonight and I have all the feels about leaving her. It's only an hour and I'll be on the other side of the gym, but mom guilt is high. I should prepare myself for lots of tears when I have to go back to work in a few weeks.
Anyone here back at work yet? I know there's a lot of SAHM on here, but have we had any daycare drop offs yet?
Also, there's a noise somewhere in my house that I can't find and it's driving me nuts. Currently nursing and I don't want to get up to investigate.
tjanca22 I go back Feb 6, but daycare doesn't start until March. I'll admit I am very relieved that it's at J's old center and has 2 teachers I love, so I'm banking on that making it easier. Easier said than done, I'm sure I'll be a mess when it's actually time.
Has anyone tried the new Dr. Brown flex bottles? They let you use them without the vent if you want. I picked up a 3 pack yesterday in hopes to drop the vent once she's older since washing do many parts is a PITA. I also only got the 4oz size. J never got more than 5 ounces of BM, so the 8 ounce ones always seemed gigantic. Do you think they may spill over while heating them?
I decided that our old Dr. Brown bottles are too old since have gone through 3+ years of heavy use by 3 kids.
Update: the noise was coming from DS's learning farm walker. Apparently it needs new batteries 🙄
tallblonde I'm back on Feb 1 and L will be at the same center as DS. I love all the teachers there and I know she will be I good hands, those first few days are just the worst.
Another update: I think we found a bottle that L will take! Tommee Tippee seems to work, but she's not crazy about it and tolerates it at best. My parents are watching the kids this Saturday while H and I go out for our anniversary, so this will be a real test to see how she does with multiple feeding with the bottle and not me. Praying she does alright and my parents won't have to listen to hours of crying.
I'm not back to work yet. I took 10 weeks of fmla in 2016 and now I'm taking 10 weeks in 2017. I'm going back mid March. I'm already feeling very anxious about it. How can I trust that anyone else can care for him with his needs? I'm hoping that we get some of his issues resolved and that will make it easier. I feel guilty because from a money stand point I could quit, but I love what I do and don't want to give it up. Our care coordinator gave us some information on a medical daycare so we are going to look into that.
Do not feel guilty! It is great that you have a job you love and it's important to have balance in life. Hoping you find a place for M that will be a great fit so you can feel comfortable with the situation.
C is boycotting naps this morning; other than a 10 minute catnap she's been up since 7:30. Rocking, nursing, bouncer...no go. Argh. Once I get my hair dried I'm loading the kids in the car and hoping she'll pass out.

I go back next Monday. Should be using this week As a trial run for morning routine, but instead I think we'll just wing it. Can use one more week of lazy mornings and sleep!
So the doctor didn't know what O's rash was either. Not chicken pox though. Maybe a virus, maybe excema related. But he thinks it should be gone by next week. Wouldn't be contagious by now, so he's back at daycare and I am on the couch watching house hunters. Turning into slightly better than mediocre day.

Today we have the baby's 6 week appointment. There's been a lot of whopping cough going around here so the pedi wants to do the first round of shots sooner rather than later. We're trading in the 2 month appointment for a 6 week one instead.
Our doctor called out do the blue this morning. I mentioned in the two month check that A has an asymetrical gluteal crease (y shaped butt crack). Our doctor has been on vacation so we did not see her at that appointment we saw a PA. The PA brought it up that while it is most often nothing, it can be a symptom of a condition in which tissue has fused to the spinal cord and in which case it would need to be removed. But she said that our doc would look at it at 4 months and see if she wanted to refer us for further evaluation. Anyway, upon getting back and catching up on her patience our doctor decided she does want us to see a neurosurgeon asap. Reason being, if they think an MRI is needed and do one prior to 3 months there is a good chance they won't need to put A under for it. So now we're just waiting on that referal and to get something scheduled. . I am now feeling extra emotional today but on the other hand I love how proactive our doctor is and we can get some answers sooner.
So I am strongly considering flying to TX in March with my two year old and 4 month old. Solo. I think I am part insane. Individually? Easy peasy. Both of them and allllll the collective stuff? A touch more intimidating.
aggiebug you can do it! Wear the little, stroller the other. Back pack carry on. One luggage with help at either end for check in. I guess the question is, is the short term craziness worth the trip? If it is, go crazy!

Yeah it will be I am sure that is why I am pretty posutive I will be going. There are a lot of little logistics that will be a pain with both of them. Car seats for one and having to manage two kids and get them installed on the other end. Heck getting it on the plane and buckled in while wearing one kid and keeping the other still. I will need a drink by the time I get to my families house that I am sure of ;P
tallblonde We have a ton of the traditional Dr Brown vent bottles plus one of the flex/options. I LOVVVVE the vent flex options one!!! Even though I only ever fill it to 4 oz for Adeline, I still love it - she has so much less gas/spit up using that one bottle lol.
@sarahwithanh Good luck at the ENT!
starbuck27 Do yours usually feed and nap at the same time ? How are you napping then these days? RnP? Crib? Etc
danib So jealous!!! That sounds divine! I'm so glad you had some personal relaxation time!
waitwhat I'll join you with weekday wine and sweets :-) lol

danib - I did a yoga class yesterday too and it was amazing. Glad you could squeeze one in.
rory5280 - T&P - hopefully it is nothing but glad your doc is being proactive.
hangry - glad it's not chickenpox and that your kiddo could go back to daycare!
waitwhat - I feel like we are life twins right now. My toddler is currently sitting up in his bed (not sleeping) and singing to himself. While it is kind of cute the inevitable meltdown later will NOT be.
AFM - got both boys out today in a public place for the first time (library). Doesn't sound like a huge deal but when it freaking cold (10 degrees) and all the winter gear logistics it's kind of a feat. Counting all the getting ready and hauling shit as a partial workout LOL.
Also found out today that my nanny from the fall can come back part time this spring. I am so pumped to not have to find all new childcare AGAIN.
