Yes I was dragging this morning and it's not like we had a bad night! Doesn't matter! We are heading to the mall, there is a kids band playing and I know S will enjoy it. Other than that I don't know what will happen today. I have laundry and a dead dryer sooo that doesn't sound like much fun. Our basement is currently a close line with stuff drying everywhere.

Yes. I'm ready for spring. I want to play outside. I hope M loves the pool as much as she loves her bath.
I'm thinking of starting nightly baths. I can see her gears slow down every time she gets one. Plus it's the only activity in which she tolerates H. They need more face time.

Anyone use the infantino elevate nursing pillow? The boppy just isn't working well for me and I think I'm going to have the same trouble with the my brest friend.
Yes, a pretty good night here but I did not want to get out of bed this morning! DS is so demanding first thing--milk, snack, TV, needs his lovey, wants to snuggle--and I just want solitude, coffee, and/or more sleep, lol.
No big plans here today, but I really need to clean the bathrooms a bit, and buy stamps and mail some stuff.

We have started nightly baths. We only wash her whole body and hair twice a week but each night I still put her in the water and wash at least her diaper area (and just water on the rest of her) because she loves it so much. If H is home in time he loves to do it with her. He has mentioned that he appreciates having that bonding time with her.
Our night was okay but I'm still ultra tired and have a headache. I got exactly one hour for my first stretch and was 75% asleep the whole time I was feeding her. She gave me a 5 hour stretch after that but it wasn't enough. I took her into bed with me starting at 5:45 but she was up every hour fussing so it wasn't very restful.
I just heard DS wake up so my time in bed is about to end.
dashook Good to know it works for D, too! I'll let H know that he can stop his oatmeal mask treatment. I have got to take a picture of it. Her eczema cleared as soon as my diet became effective, but every bath he still makes an oatmeal paste and coats her in it. It looks like he's seasoning her up to go in the oven.
starbuck27, I say go rogue for lunch, it's called balance!
Not sure what to do today! DS is at daycare and I need to do a little cleaning, but I did a lot of it yesterday, so I'm thinking I should reward myself with a relaxing day!
Also wish it were spring. I'm ready to get out of this house and get some (warm) fresh air. You know it's sad when the high is going to be 45 degrees and I actually contemplated going outside for a walk with the kids.

Samesy
I thought the same thing yesterday. It was 47 here, but raining sideways so a walk wasn't happening. Walks are seriously the best distraction technique ever.

We are doing them, as well. DH has always done B's nightly bath so we added C to the mix just this week. She loves it.
Re: baths FWIW...I used (and hated) an infant tub with B, but have since discovered a bath tub seat. It's been a total game-changer. It fits perfectly in my kitchen sink for a quick bath or shampoo, but we use it in the tub so she is a bit more submerged in the water and stays warm. I'm also thrilled to not be doing separate baths for both kids.
I felt like superwoman yesterday! It was the first day home with A+A without me crying. The only crying they did was (1) in the morning when they were overtired and I could only rock one and (2) on the way back from our outing Adeline was hungry and cried before I could get them in the house.
We went to the grocery store (just to test my outing ability and it was damn hard but we survived), took baths, and cooked dinner all before daddy got home.
I am desperately hoping for a repeat today. It's going to be 45*ish so I thought about another outing and will reserve our walk for tomorrow when it's going to be near 60*
ETA forgot the best part, the bath was so soothing that they were out at 6:30p and slept through to 4:00am again. Only downside was that H didn't get a lot of time with them.
Anybody actually get in the bathtub with baby? I've done this three times with them (I shower before/after)... But I'm curious if I'm missing some obvious reason I shouldn't be doing it.

Omg I totally would. Two years ago when DS was a newborn my threshold for taking him out was 20 degrees. Twenty. And we almost never went out 😔

I did with Bradley a few times; haven't yet with C. No reason I can think of to not do so.
kleigh your babies slept 6:30-4?!?! Did I read that right? I'm so Incrediby jealous. Re: baths with baby. I'm not a bath fan (something about sitting in your own dirty water 😬) but a slippery baby makes me nervous!
Lol yes. But again, they sleep on us so there's that. We are talking about the transition to them sleeping off us and know full well there will be some regression so we're saving it for a long weekend - like this one coming up. Yeah, baths actually gross me out too lol. But because I'm not BFing, I've struggled with ways to bond and skin to skin never works well for us because they scream - so it's kind of the way I get in my skin time.
Stupid question over here, but how much milk should I plan to leave for my parents who are babysitting this Saturday? H and I will be gone from 2-8ish. Right now she eats every two hours, but will start clustering at 6ish where she could eat anywhere from every hour to every 30mins. I honestly don't know how much she's getting each feeding because of nursing, but I've been able to pump 2-2.5oz from one side while she nurses from the other, so maybe around that?
I'm planning to nurse before we leave, so 1:30 which means she'd most likely eat 3:30, 5:30 and then 2 maaaybe 3 times after that until we get home. Would 9oz be enough? We have formula, but she doesn't seem to take it as well as bm and has never taken more than .5oz. I usually get a disgusted face when I give it to her, so I'd like to make sure my parents aren't stuck with a crying baby and no bm to give.

Hi! Man the day is going quick. I'm team bundle up and get outside! It's currently 52 and sunny and I am itching to get out for an exercise walk, but need to eat something first. I had the windows open on the drive home from daycare, it was great.
N loves baths so I think I'll increase the frequency too, maybe I'll encourage MH to do them for bonding time. I always have done DS bath until recently, but I think he enjoys the time as well.
I also need to do a solid scrubbing of the tub. I went to all green cleaners, but I think I'll bust out a more powerful one so it doesn't take all day.

We had a poopy morning today (literally). I changed his diaper, fed him a little bit, put him down to nap and jumped in the shower. When I got out, I could hear him on the monitor so I went in and he's WIDE awake and smiling. I picked him up to cuddle and could immediately smell more poop. So repeat above and he's finally napping. I made myself breakfast am now enjoying coffee and This is Us with puppy snuggles.
The poor girl had a rough night. Last night our CO2 detector died and was beeping. Gracie is terrified of that sound for some reason so she was freaking out and shaking. We finally settle her down when a huge gust of wind rips open our storm door. H jumped up to go close it but didn't realize Gracie was right under him. In the process of trying not to step on her, he got a major leg cramp and started yelling. Cue freaked out dog again. Then she heard the door slamming in the wind and started barking and almost ran out the door while I was trying to close it. It was a crazy 5 minutes. Luckily C was already upstairs in his crib.
kleigh that sounds like an amazing day yesterday, go you!! tjanca22 I have used this calculator before: kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/pumping/milkcalc/ Disclaimer: I have found the amounts to be on the low side for my babies: DS always took a minimum of 4 oz at a time and would often be looking for more even though the calculator said 3.8 oz on the high end.
Re: baths with baby, I did it once or twice with DS but the slipperiness always freaked me out so I stopped. No objective reason not to do it though as far as I know.
tjanca22 C didn't cluster with bottles quite as much as breast. I generally left 1 bottle for every 2 hours and then an extra one just in case. (around 3ozs per bottle). And you can keep them frozen so there is no wastage if they aren't used.
Thank you! Duh, freezer stash! I don't know why I was thinking I should only leave fresh milk? I think I'm so used to sending previous day's milk to DC when I nursed DS and never really had to dip into my freezer stash too often with him. Off to write directions on how to thaw frozen milk for my parents!

I got up at 6 today. Lillian slept until 7 and Lilah was up at 7:30. We had Lillian's first dance class this morning. It was really good! She loved it. Then we had Lilah's 2 month appointment.
She looks good, handled the shots like you'd expect, but her weight gain wasn't great. 7oz in 3 weeks. So...it could be genetic. Lillian slowed down, too, and had periods of very slow gains. It could be supply. I'm taking allergy medicine daily because I can't live otherwise, and it's possibly making my supply drop. Or it could be reflux. We are going to try reflux meds for 3 weeks to see if it helps since we are dealing with lots of spit up. If it isn't reflux, genetics is the next most likely cause, but I'll be upping my water intake regardless just in case it is supply. Sigh. I'm upset.
Both girls are sleeping and I'm watching the new This Is Us and eating a ton.

starbuck27, I would be furious too. MH does the same thing with the video games and staying up late. Most nights he doesn't come to bed before 1am. It's frustrating for sure.
