FFWC: can't even tell you the last time I shaved my legs.
So to add to this... After 9 months of not growing hair on my legs, shit appeared overnight. And I'm actually kind of intrigued by how much there is. FFWC: I took a picture and sent it to y sisters because I'm in awe of how much hair can grow that quickly. FFWC#2: I don't want to shave it, it's so soft right now and DNW stubble. FFWC #3: Plus it's not like sex is anywhere in sight for the near distant future - no time!

I have the opposite suddenly! I haven't had to shave my legs at all and same with my armpits, like hair has stopped growing! I assume it's hormones? My armpits randomly itch too, but I read that can happen while nursing. I forget what got me to that page of the interwebs, but was glad to read that since it was puzzling me.
Wait, there are some magical unicorns out there whose leg hair stopped growing while pregnant? How did I miss whatever gene that's connected to??
I just shaved mine for the first time in...awhile. It wasn't braid-able or anything but it was more than stubble!
My Sasquatch legs also missed this memo. I shaved today because I have my 6 week appointment tomorrow, but I don't remember the last time I had smooth legs.
Omg my DH is snoring so loud. Every time I kick him under the covers or hit his arm he stops for about 10 seconds and starts back up again. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh.
The absolute worst. It seems the kicking does nothing to help either. I just don't get how you don't wake up to the feeling of someone kicking you! Men 😡

MH is now sleeping on the office futon at night for this very reason. True story.
sophiegrace, I love winter! Yea it's cold but I hate bugs! I'm always bit by mosquitoes more so than anyone else. I love snow and that my dogs play more because they don't get as hot as fast. I love spring and fall too but as long as the nights drop to freezing or below! ClassyMrsA, LT for commiseration! I'm sorry you got upset! starbuck27, I send DH texts or emails when I'm mad/sad most of the time. I hope you can resolve this with your H. +1 on leg shaving. (But read FFTC below)
DH is due home next Thursday and this week seems to be awful! L was supposed to go to audiologist today but their "new" office manager didn't know they didn't take kids under a year! I found out yesterday which of course was after getting only 3 hours of sleep and on a day I needed to do a lot! I keep going through phases that he can hear and is just a calm baby which I would be thankful for if not for the other phase which is a nagging feeling that he may be deaf and I need to learn sign language pronto!?! This appointment would have been a stress reliever but it got cancelled. The peds office found another place that will take an infant but I have yet to hear from them! (They were supposed to call me when they got the referral) Of course this pushes knowing for sure back till god knows when. I have my 6 week PP appointment and I have no idea what to expect. Is it different after a c-section vs. vaginal birth?
L is sleeping a lot in short bursts and I'm worried he's not getting enough milk!?! His diaper messes haven't changed but still, after his slow start to gaining weight, I get nervous. I feel like I'm nervous about a lot of things. His hearing, his weight gain, how much he sleeps some days then how little, is he happy, etc.
Fftc: I have never had much hair on my legs! I would shave once a month before a baby and only because the few hairs I had became visible to me or I was getting a pedicure! I'm used to being flamed for this.
Hello everyone! Just able to put some words down now. Hope you all received my flurry of LTs earlier!
After a fair/ poor sleep last night, we hit the ground running today. O had his first dentist appt and was a rockstar! Opened his mouth every time they asked. Let then do a cleaning, and he has no cavities! She did already predict that he'll need braces down the line. (How the heck can she predict that now?!). And E slept through the entire trip!!!
And tonight , O only got out of bed one time!?!! Praise The Lord! It took E a good two hours though to finally settle down. But that time was just periodic paci replacement or rocking. I got 3+ hours asleep and hoping for another 3+ hour stint.
Re:QOTD - my hair growth has not changed at all. I've tried to keep up with 1x/ week shaving.
danib, yes 3x's (early morning of day 3, early morning day 4, after "2 day" office visit technically day 6) and he failed all which is why we need to go to an audiologist!
waitwhat, he doesn't seem to startle at all! Not when asleep, not when the dogs bark, he does startle sometimes at night but I don't recall a sound being associated with it! Like, just now girl dog with collar just shook, he didn't even move/stir!?!
Re diapers: he's just been sleeping not eating as long. I don't know if he's gotten more efficient at breastfeeding or if he's not getting enough! He has plenty of diapers throughout the day, he maintains his status quo of 6-8 wet diapers not including poopy diapers. No yellow so he's not dehydrated. But the worry is after him not gaining enough weight in the first 2 weeks when he had all these indicators then too!
waitwhat, not till next month for his 2 month appointment and vaccinations!
Do you have a digital scale? I've been doing unofficial weight checks before bath to see if she's growing. Stand on scale with naked baby and then weigh myself and subtract. Possibly he's just more efficient at eating?
That's some BS that the office manager booked you, hoping the new doctor gets you in quickly. Do you have the name to call and set up an appointment?
tallblonde, not yet! I'm going to call the pediatrician since I didn't hear from the audiologist today! They were supposed to call me when they got my referral which should have been Tuesday.

Oh cheshie6, hugs. That sounds incredibly stressful. I hope the new appointment can get scheduled immediately. M didn't start responding to sounds much until after this last growth spurt around 8 weeks. All of a sudden noises that never bothered her keep/wake her up, catch her attention, or make her startle. I don't want to blow smoke up your butt, but I think right now a positive anecdote won't hurt.
cheshie6, D failed her hearing screen in the hospital and so when she was 2 weeks old I took her to the pediatric audiologist at Boston Children's Hospital in Peabody, which probably isn't too terribly far from you. My understanding was that they wanted to do the testing sooner than later which is why we went when she was so young; maybe they could fit you in quickly since he's almost 6 weeks? Feel free to PM me.
On a separate note--and I really hope this doesn't come through as patronizing through text--I hope you are taking care of yourself. I know firsthand how hard it is being the only one there to care for your baby and dealing with baby weight gain issues, etc., on almost no sleep. I went through it with DS and the first 6 weeks of his life were easily the most difficult and stressful of mine. It's obviously normal to worry about your baby but if your worries are really overwhelming you, please don't be afraid to let your doctor know, because PPA is common and you shouldn't have to suffer through it alone. Hugs!

cheshie6 I don't think my pp appointment for a c section was any different than a vaginal birth. They still check down there and look at your incision too.
dashook, my mom is here but she's not as helpful as I need her to be in some aspects! I think I had too high expectations... she's easily affected by changes in the weather but things don't stop because of rain, snow, etc.
ETA: living in a rural area, they won't see him till the end of February!?! They only do this testing every other Wednesday and that's the soonest they can get us in.
