Could someone explain to my DH that complaining about how tired he is every single day is annoying? How has he not yet figured out that this normal with a kid?

Good morning ladies!
We are up and breakfast has already been eaten. G is "cooking" at the moment. She loves her kitchen so much.

Today we are going to head out to drop MH off at work. I am thinking about hitting the library too. She hasn't seen her little friends in a few weeks. Then it's lunch, nap and the grocery store that I still haven't gotten to. Fun times today.
MHs new days off are Friday and Saturday so at least I have help starting tomorrow.

G too! We used to hang out downstairs for about an hour after breakfast. Not anymore. Now it's straight up the stairs and it's the first thing she goes for. She will literally play in her room until at least 11am if I let her and about half of that will be kitchen time.

W has already cooked me fish for breakfast in her kitchen, and forced me to sit at her table to eat it. Now she's playing her piano. We typically spend a good chunk of our day identifying each play food. She loves it.

The garbage truck woke ds up at 6. He is so mean and grumpy. I want to hide from him.

So the house we bought and live in was a total fixer upper. like there wasn't flooring in any of the rooms, and several rooms didn't even have drywall. We've been renovating it for 5 years and we're still not done.

With the new baby coming we're trying to figure out bedrooms and H was like "call our contractor and get a recommendation for an architect." Sooooo, I guess we're moving forward with adding bedrooms in the attic. I'm excited but I wanted more time to save money. Maybe I can get him to hold off for a year or so and just pay for the blueprints to have when we need.

In my dream world this would include a master with bath upstairs, plus kids's rooms and a hall bath. this would put us at 5 bathrooms. Is that excessive? H thinks we could just have a hall bath upstairs. I want a my own bath, darn it!

linny12 - 5 bathrooms is something I would see in a home with like 6 bedrooms. Most homes have 1-3 bathrooms. But...if it suits your family and you plan to have 3-4 kids (or tons of guests visiting), then why not?

5 bathrooms seems a little crazy to me, like DNW to clean 5 bathrooms. Buuuut, I desperately want a master bath so I would choose that over sharing with my kids.

Right now we have 3 beds, 3 baths (one bed is my office since I WFH, but soon it will be a nursery/office), we plan to have 3-4 beds upstairs when we do the addition, keep my office in one existing room, make our current master a guest room with attached bath (since it's there already, just not finished), and make W's current room a play room so that our living room isn't taken over by toys.  So technically we'd have 6-7 bedrooms, but not using all of them as bedrooms.

Maybe we could turn our hall bath into a half bath or just combine it with the current master bath and have 2 doors or something.

The other bath is in the soon to be finished basement, so it's mostly for when H gets in from fishing or yard work and is filthy or when we eventually get a dog to bathe, or when we have people over because our basement will be a rec room with second kitchen and backyard walkout access.

H's response to this baby being another girl was "third times the charm." meaning he wants a 3rd and hoping for a boy, so we'll probably end up with 3-4 kids.

Like DNW my teenagers, or H and I having to either pack up clothes to go shower or walk through the foyer and kitchen in a robe/ towel in front of everyone else.  We'd do it if we had to, but it's not ideal.

I always did the quick dash to my bedroom from our hall bath.

This was my thought. Don't wanna clean 5 bathrooms! We have 2 1/2 and that's plenty to clean. But I do love not sharing a bathroom with the kids.

StephNE, no the guest room would be on our main level with an attached bath. All of our bedrooms would be upstairs.

We don't even get a lot of overnight guests so it seems wasteful to have an attached bath for that room, it's just that the plumbing is there already since it is the master bedroom currently.

I think I figured it out. Current master bath and dressing room becomes main floor laundry. Guests can use hall bath.

Four bathrooms isn't crazy and no more basement laundry.

Other option is have my parents move in and call it an in law suite, haha!

Girls are wonderful! While I get some people get disappointed about the baby's sex, I strongly feel everyone is created for a reason, and you were meant to have girls. Plus-- since the male determines the sex, he can't be too mopey about it. It's his fault!

In all seriousness though-- it really is about "if the baby is healthy that's all that matters"...right?

lgsdesigner, I really enjoy DD1 and so does he. He just has this whole "thing" about not carrying on the family name. I said, "you know more women are keeping their name after marriage, right?"

I agree with you that everything happens for a reason, but I can't figure out why I would have two girls (not that I am complaining or questioning). I am horrible with makeup, can't walk in heels, overall just not very ladylike. Maybe I am just destined to raise to badass women who don't conform to gender stereotypes and kick ass. I'm ok with that

DH of course just wants a healthy baby, but if he could pick he would pick a boy.

@honda, congrats on another girl!

My H was a little sad for a second about another girl, but then he realized that we have so much girl stuff already so then he was happy.

I think it's fun to have 2 of the same sex close in age. Like if I were going to have 2 girls and a boy (or the other way around) I'd want the two of the same sex to be in a row. It's easier for clothes and stuff, imo.

linny12, I'm beyond happy that we can reuse all of C's clothes. She has so many and they are so cute. Double bonus they are all the right season since dd1 was a May baby and dd2 is June.

Maybe this is an UO but I have...feelings about parents who have negative reactions to the sex of their children.
