Good morning. Everyone is back at school/work and I'm wfh. Ahhh, the sweet silence of an empty house. I plan on getting to the gym during my lunch and that's about it.

FYI - I saw the BRU trade in event is starting today. In case any of you w babies need something. I JUST order a new car seat for C too. Oh well, the price on Amazon was about $5 higher, so not worth trying to return it.
Morning. Just got home from preschool dropoff. C has her 2-month check-up at 11 so we're getting ready for that.
My cold is progressing, I have slightly more voice today and a cough has shown up. Yay? B has been so sweet and concerned, glad he's showing empathy. I can cross 'raising a sociopath' off the list of things I worry about. Jury is still out on C, though

So we didn't spend as much time at the play place yesterday as I would have hoped. My coworker has this really off schedule where everything happens like 2 hours earlier for her. Lunch is at like 10:30, nap is at 11:30, bedtime is at like 6, wake up time is 4. So doing play dates with her is hard. We had to pay weekend prices since it was a holiday, so $14 per kid, which I was fine with because I though we would be there awhile. After an hour her son was asking to go home and her daughter was asking for chik fil a. Cadence was going strong and I didn't really want to leave, but went ahead and went to lunch with them at CFA. Her kids didn't want to play on their playscape and my non-napping child was still going 100mph. So after lunch it was still only like 12:30....ugh. I probably should have just taken her back to the play place to see if we could get back in. Instead we went home and watched an afternoon of curious george while I read and then went for a long walk. 6pm and Cadence was asking if she could go to bed because she was exhausted. This is why you nap, child! Since I wouldn't let her nap at 6, we missed the sleepy window and she was wild and crazy by her actual bedtime. Once I got her calmed down with lots of rocking wrapped in her blanket, she conked out pretty quickly.
Today I'm back at work and its rainy and chilly outside. I have a ton of work, but I'm just not in the mood. We also have a giant project coming in with 60+ opinions I'm going to have to read with a very short timeline. I'm not looking forward to it.
Morning. H claims she's not sick but I still kept her home from preschool. I got an email yesterday that her teacher is leaving next week, which makes me sad because she's really nice and H seems to like her. DH and I are still not feeling great. I think I still have a fever (haven't checked) and I have a massive headache. So we are all hanging at home again today. I had to call and reschedule my barre class because there is no way I'm going today.
trtlcrzy, I found out the one of N's teachers is leaving next week too. I'm super bummed about it because she is amazing and I have mixed feelings about the other teacher. Good news is that she is leaving to become the youth director at our church so at least we'll still see her once in a while.
My day off yesterday was great. I got myself and the kids 90% packed for our trip. I'm never this on the ball with packing but I think I'm getting a little nervous about travelling outside of the country with 2 kids. There weren't 3 seats together when we booked but I'm hoping we can arrange that at the airport so I can have DH's help with H. I'm sure N will do great. And I'm super nervous and crossing everything that nobody gets sick in our house this week.

Man feel better everyone!! J is a little snotty, but nothing serious get. Just a case of being a jerk.
Has anyone elses kid taken to hitting you playfully and smiling while doing it? I put my arms around him and say to stop, we don't hit, and he will laugh and say we do hit, I hit. And then will try to ram his head into me. He doesn't do it with anyone else. He finally got sad when he made me cry trying to get his jammies on asking why he was so mean to me. I put him right to bed with no books.
Of course he is an angel the rest of last night. Had fun taking bus to town, haircut, Barnes, helped make his lunch, ate well. I'm hoping a phase and maybe acting out due to N's arrival? I sure hope so, this is not fun.

Hope the cough doesn't get any worse.
My kid vacillates between sweetest creature on the face of the planet and American Psycho.

LOL.
B is generally pretty sweet but I read an article recently about early signs of extreme anti-social behavior personalities so of course I started analyzing him. FTR I think we're going to be ok

Sunny41 that is oddly comforting that I'm not alone...Sorry you are dealing with it too. I started a behavior chart and he gets stickers if we get out the door and do bedtime without issue..This morning he found the stamps and gave himself a 'sticker', ha.
Any recs for a non crinkly mattress protector? We have a couple but they are so loud every time he rolls. He leaked last night and although it wasn't enough to get on the mattress, I don't want to take the chance.
We use these fitted sheets on Cadence's bed. I can't remember what size bed C is in at this point. Cadence is still in a toddler bed, which crib sheets fit on.
Cherhorowitz I feel like you are the queen of travel - where should I go for a long kid-free weekend that would be relatively unexpensive? I have Southwest vouchers I need to use by May!
Ohhhh.... something warm? Where would you fly out of? I never fly SW so I need to check where they fly.

We have one from target for M's bed and it's not crinkly at all. I think it's the room essentials one. I believe It was just under $20 for a full. I ordered online for pickup in store because it was on sale online.

Hugs tjhine. For everything Little T related and the IL situation. Glad you have Sunny in your corner.
Sending good Ju ju and healing vibes to all the sick kids and parents.
I'm at work early again today. Lately, it's not my favorite place. There's some things happening around here that has got me questioning my position. I'm such a dependable, loyal, hard worker, but it seems to be getting me no where. I'm so over the mismanagement and drama. Sorry for the DD, but needed to put my feels somewhere.
tallblonde - Col doesn't hit too much but he's really into pushing lately. He gets super hyped up after watching sports. He doesn't get that tackling is okay during a football game but not while we're playing on the floor with Chase. Which I get, but he needs to learn.
It's good to see you around here, tjhine! I'm sorry your ILs are pressuring you. You're very kind to keep in mind that there's no "right way" to grieve, but you also need to do what's best for T. And for you, too. Hugs.

Not Cher, but piping in to say that SW has added a bunch of int'l destinations in the Caribbean and Costa Rica!

tjhine LGA is a mess right now so I would try to do Hartford. They do nonstop to FL, but I know you have a trip planned there. They also do a nonstop to Vegas. That could be really fun!
I've been having really faint cramping for the past 2 days. I reaaaally hope AF isn't coming. I made it 14 months after N, so I was hoping to have longer. Plus, beach vacation. But you'd think it would've made an appearance by now. Go away cramps!
