Morning! Dropping DD off and then I have a date with the dentist. After that it's work time. I caught up in yesterday's ransoms and everyone is telling obi C-section tips. I missed what happened. She isn't having the baby soon is she? I'm apparently out of the loop.

Good morning! I'm still dealing with my insomnia but it's getting a little better. I have been dealing with it since I was a little kid and sometimes it's better than others. I also get sleep paralysis so my sleeping problems just so fun. I have to work for a few hours today but I don't know when that will be. MH hasn't text me his schedule for the day yet. I have to do some cleaning but other than that there are no plans.

Baby is still cookin! I found out at my appt last Friday that id be having a csection this time so the ladies here are just giving me tips Which i am about to go back and re-read because my H took my phone out of my hands and told me to go to bed last night as I was reading, haha.
CatLady where would I find mesh panties? Are they a pharmacy purchase or a regular walmart kind of thing? Amazon? So the higher the better, like those belly covering granny panties?
bwisco123 thats a good reminder! I didnt shower before having C because I was scheduled for induction and thought id just get up and shower before heading in. Well, I ended up in labour about 7hrs before the induction and never got the chance. I was so relieved to have a shower... 1.5 days later. I can definitely imagine not feeling up to a shower after surgery though. I didnt even think about that.
bethypoo83 I am all ready to load myself up on Advil liquid gels. It is the only way I survived last time. I was pretty beat up after having C because of the shoulder dystocia and if I went even 30min past the 4hr mark, I was feeling it. Did you use anything specifically on the incision? I survived off Tucks pads but I guess those arent applicable this time.

DH has an ultrasound today for his groin area. He has some weird mass that is in a lot of pain and he has no idea what it is. Hoping it's nothing terrible.

I got 2 out of 4 beds changed(yay!), but ds tasmanian deviled through the whole second floor while I was doing it. My whole life is 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Ah. I was worried about you. As for c-section tips: -Get up and walk as soon as they will let you and walk often -Stay ahead of the pain. Take your meds. Don't think you don't need them. You'll regret it. -Comfy pants that go above your incision.
Honestly, my c-section was a breeze and healed beautifully. I've already scheduled a c-section for this baby. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.

So not my morning. DH told me as he was walking out the door early that he wasn't helping with M at all, then a bad accident on the freeway added 30mins to my commute, then I was so late to get my experiment started I didn't check my email and submitted my samples wrong because there was a late evening email with some updates last night. Blah. Hopefully this day gets better.

obi - I will also add to c-section tips: TAKE YOUR STOOL SOFTENER! Those pain meds can really back you up and then when you do go it's no picnic. I learned that with my first two kids (third was a VBA2C).
Im reading and LTing all the great advice. Sorry if I dont respond directly to you, im running around for appointments today so just checking as I get a chance. But thank you all so much for reaching out with your experiences. It makes me feel a lot better!
obi, so much of what Jesslfar, said. Move, move, move. It's sucks and it's not going to feel great, but just do it. The nurses couldn't believe I had a CS because I kept getting up to walk regularly. Someone on here gave me that tip and boy did I appreciate it.
Also, I had my gallbladder out a few years before I had dd. Personally, I found the pain very similar.

Not bethypoo83 but they'll send you home with a personal pharmacy! I think I had like 4 prescriptions?? And don't touch the incision! They'll check it but otherwise it's hands off until after the staples are removed.
ETA and yes buy the granny panties. I wore mine for far too long PP but they were amazing. Grannies are smart.
All of this except that my incision had dissolvable stitches so I didn't have to have any further care for it. My OB checked it at the six week check up but it was healing well then. There were those steri-strips on it which were itchy AF but they came off after a few days, especially after I got back in a good routine of showering daily.

They gave them to me at the hospital. I learned way too late that they can be washed and worn again. And I would stock up on granny panties with a comfy band. Maybe get them a size up. And I would get a million LLR leggings if I were going through a c-section again.
You're going to need more than Advil.
I think my incision was glued together. I was told to just wash water over it. You can hardly see it now.
I will say that it was hard to get out of bed. The nurses teach you how to move. I don't have any specific advice about this, but I wonder if anyone changed up their furniture to help with this.
Sob. I just spent 2 hours in the lab, only to screw everything up in the last 1 minute. So now I get to do exactly this whole 2 hour process again tomorrow morning. Whyyyyy.
obi, I am not sure if anyone mentioned it, but have a pillow handy and use it on your stomach if you feel the need to laugh or cough. It is very painful if you aren't prepared. The pillow helped me hold everything in place when I would laugh. I had steri strips and was just told to pat them dry after the shower.
I remember this tip from last time but I didnt even think about laughing. Omg. My H is such a jackass and turns EVERYTHING into a joke. He lives to pester me. He is going to need some serious reprogramming while I heal or Ill have to kill him.
I was a bit excited to do a labour live blog this time around. I kinda disappeared for a few weeks when I had C because we were in the middle of moving so I didnt do it last time. Oh well. Ill still AW with a thread on the day of and post squish pics

Nooo! That must be so frustrating. Sorry
So frustrating! I'll just be over here banging my head on the table.

It's ok to be disappointed. But I think you'll find that this birth will have its own special perks
