I bought our first baby related thing last night. Found discontinued print TULA baby carriers for $105. I always wanted one with the first one, but they were so hard to get, being practically a cult item. Now that the buzz has died down, they are easier to find. (Cotton Babies for anyone else who is interested.)
All the discontinued prints are 30% off at boutiques, too, so if you have a preferred online boutique...
One of my coworkers daughters is selling Girl Scout cookies and I'm WAY more excited about them than I should be lol. Cookies are getting delivered by the Girl Scout on Monday and I can't wait. Although my coworker was super nice and asked if I wanted her to bring cookies early for me since I'm pregnant and all lol.

I bought too many boxes this year. The sweet tooth is real! You reminded me that I need to check on when mine will be here
My new Spectra s2 breast pump courtesy of my insurance is on the way!! It's funny how excited I got last pregnancy and this one for a free breast pump! My BBF was surprised my insurance gave me another one and said she heard some check to see if you've been given a free one in the past. As far as I knew, you got a free one with each pregnancy. Anyone?
I have my 24 week appointment today. I see a lot of girls getting their glucose screening done, I don't think my doc does mine until 28 weeks, if I recall correctly. What's with the different time frames for conducting the test, anyone know?

It's a new one per pregnancy, per year, I think.
It's typically down 26-30 weeks, but if there's reasons to suspect it or if you have a higher risk, they'll do it earlier and usually again in third tri. Some of us also have ours scheduled since we've already had our 24 week check ups
Seeing all this pump talk makes me wonder, should I bother ordering a new one? I only used mine for 2 months and it's not like I work outside of the home. Or is it just better to have a backup one?
Toddler time was good but there weren't a lot of people there so it was kind of awkward but DS got to burn some energy so mission accomplished! I hope more moms and kids show up next week.
Doll15 I think it's sad that healthcare has become a political discussion.
Cool. Me too. Don't want to hear about everywhere I go though.
Good luck with that. I don't want to worry about my husband, who needs frequent medical care and expensive medications for life, not being able to get health insurance because of his pre-existing condition, but unfortunately some things are out of our controls.
I love the way my practice does our glucose test. They send the drink home with us the appointment before and have us drink it an hour before our appointment time. When you get there you just tell them what time you finished it and they get you into a room before then. It's so nice because it's the one time they don't keep you in the waiting room for 30 minutes.
PirateCat, agreed, on all counts. It's a big deal right now and affecting many people, including some members here. I don't think it's unreasonable that it comes up at times. (Also hoping you're finding help sagen!)
I am back to eating all the things all the time. I think it's that I'm craving something and can't figure out what, so I keep eating to fill the hole. Sigh.

Does your insurance cover one? If it does, maybe get one and if you end up using your old one you can donate the unused one to a women's shelter or something?

Hmm, my thoughts at first was to say "definitely, take advantage!!". But, that being said, I used my last one for the full year, 3 times a day at work, and the motors just aren't made to last much longer or be as powerful, so I am definitely getting a new one even though I just stopped pumping in October. But if yours is barely used and you don't use it multiple times a day, you're probably okay just using the one you have! How old is it though? I can't recall how old your DS is!
Meh. If I don't feel like reading about something I just skip over it.
That's where I am. I do sympathize about the stress, so I control the things I can (when I look at news, how I interact on social media, blocking cnon on parenting lol). What people post on an open forum is not one of those things.

Same way here. I take it 45 minutes before my app and report the time I finished it when I arrive. It's been that way both pregnancies and it's nice. I down it on my way in and am ready to pee when I get there since they'll test for sugar and protein as well. The moment the blood is drawn, I stuff a protein source into my mouth lol

And talking about it helps with people who want to dig their heads in the sand and pretend it's not an issue. I much prefer it to just be discussed when needed instead of jumping over to a thread and re bumping it. Plus, it allows others to chime in when they wouldn't necessarily go in the other thread

hpnegirl I love it. I couldn't imagine waiting a half hour to be seen then sitting there for another hour. Plus I take C with me so it would get all kinds of ugly.

I really should block the troll...
It helps a lot...except that I can still see when people quote him, it doesn't work in tapa, and occasionally I hate myself enough to look if people are referencing something dumb he's said.

I've read a lot from people of color about how it's so nice for white people that we get the option of "opting out" or ignoring tough things. It's made me think a lot about how to balance that privilege with managing my own anxiety.
I just think it's pointless to continue bringing it up with so much unknown right now. It's causing me stress to think about what will happen if my medications are no longer covered because I have a pre-existing disability or what will happen to my mothers chemi treatments. But right now, we don't know so throwing around all of the potential scenarios doesn't benefit anyone really.
But if you want to continue discussing it wherever you want so be it. I was just asking if you could be more sensitive to those who maybe don't want to see it so much. But clearly that isn't doable and it's fine.
