I've been told to take it easy. At my 2nd ultrasound yesterday, they saw some bleeding. Obviously I have not seen any externally. I was told they weren't "terribly concerned" because both babies look good and I was 8w2d along. Baby A was measuring 8w1d with 167 HB and Baby B was measuring 7w6d with 171 HB. I have graduated to my regular OBGYN and the hope is that it will be gone by then.
Nothing other than I'm unreasonably freaked out about preterm labor, c-section, premie babies, and NICU.

EDD? 8/24/3017 but the RE was guessing I would have delivery scheduled earlier
How many? 2
Fraternal or identical? fraternal
What instructions/plans has your OB given you? My first OB appointment is not until 1/24. The RE recommended this practice so I'm hoping they have a lot of experience with multiples and that I like the doctor/practice. If anyone has already had their first OB appointment, any suggestions on things I should be asking?
Anything else? I bought two different books the other day, "What to do When You're Having Two: The Twin Survival Guide," and "When You are Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads: Proven Guidelines for a Healthy Multiple Pregnancy." I started reading What to Do. It's pretty basic but not bad so far.

Mom2Ms, glad they are not worried about the bleeding. Same worries here, especially the pre-term labor. I'm not as concerned about the c-section (yet). I need to make a list of questions for the OB and one of them is whether she does vaginal deliveries with twins or if she always schedules a c-section.
My RE kept acting like I did not need to see an MFM that much and that the OB would be my primary but I plan on pushing hard for lots of MFM time. I'm AMA, I have a history of pre-term labor, and I'm in a high risk pregnancy. Nothing against the OB but I've learned the hard way that if you qualify to be seen by a MFM then you better be under the care of a MFM.
On a side note, we technically do not know what embryo is A or B yet. My two are hanging out side by side so the u/s tech just made an arbitrary pick. She said we will eventually have one present before the other and then they can officially label them A&B.
therealbug - My RE was the sane way when I asked about MFM due to my age & twins and he was kind of nah about it. I thought it was kind of weird. Obviously I'll be asking my regular OB about it. I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to seeing MFM, what are the advantages, other than them being a specialist. Baby A is much closer to my cervix than Baby B, so at 8w2d they were able to make that designation. So, we'll see! I'm glad I'm not alone in this journey!

I guess I go here now too! I had just had my first appointment this morning and to our shock and delight, there are two babies cooking in there!
EDD? 8/23 but will deliver via RCS at 38 weeks (so 8/9 give or take)
How many? 2
Fraternal or identical? Fraternal
What instructions/plans has your OB given you? To take it easy, not worry about weight gain, and to limit my travel for work.
Anything else? I'm just overjoyed right now and trying to take everything in. We have DS who just turned 2, so things will be very interesting over the next few months!
My OB said to up my calorie intake to 2200 instead of the 2000 for a singleton pg she also said we were shooting for a 45lb weight gain instead of 30
This pretty much falls in line with what I've been reading but the 45 was actually on the low end.
When You Are Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads has a great chapter on weight gain based on research. It recommends quit a bit of weight gain in the first half of pg for twins.

My OB also mentioned 45-50lbs but she really doesn't want me to think about the number on the scale and just focus on eating often but healthy.
I had HG my first pregnancy and weight gain was a very anxiety inducing topic, so this time I asked her not to tell me the numbers when I visit, but just let me know if I am gaining appropriately.
I am borrowing that book from a fellow D14 mom who had twins, so I'd be interested in reading that chapter.
She also recommended finding a moms of multiples local support group.
