I voted for the standard. Mostly because it pretty much goes with anything, so if your styles change the doors won't really need to.

Personally I'd choose # 1 but 3 is attractive, too. Do not care for middle option--it seems more old-fashioned, like what you'd find in a Craftsman-style house

I think 1 is classic; the beadboard inset in 3 is a bit more trendy right now.

Cleaning be damned, I love the look of the 5 panel. I have the standard doors and they look cheap in comparison.

We have 6-panel doors now and you're right, dusting them is a you-know-what.

I'm trying to remember what we've had in previous homes. Both were 80-100 y.o. and had original everything. I think they were kind of a cross b/n styles 1 and 2.

I'm with JoeLies and I love Craftsman style. My mom has a sears and roebuck house and it has those doors, but they are dark wood, so I'm having trouble imagining in white. I guess it depends on the style you are going for if I'd pick 1 or 2.

I've also seen them painted black with all white trim, usually in gutted older homes.
